McClarin Tree Services & Landscape

These two guys from McClarin Tree Service came by and we talked about a large tree on my property that was very close to my other two neighbors. The focus turned to a large stump in my front yard that was partially grind up but not finish. I stated that the start of the stump is about 4 feet from the house water line. They could complete grinding of that stump for $440. They went off to get a stump grinder and I pulled funds from the bank hoping that they would do a good job. I marked the location of the water line with marking paint (about 4 feet from the start of the stump). They were quick and packed up the stump grinder and started to leave and I said but the start of the stump is still here. He stated the it is too close to the water line and drove off. I talked to all my neighbors about this company and to not have any work done from them. One of my neighbors stated that his big stump that he had grind up only cost $150. Now I just felt like I have over paid and to make matters worst as I was cleaning up the area they did not finish and a large section was still in tacked. All the online reviews were negative and this business is not BBB accredited (Better Business Bureau). One thing that stands out about their tree service that if they did work to cut one of my big trees out and if a limb was to damage my neighbor's property he stated that would be an "Act of God" and they would not be responsible. On their business card stated that they are insured but his attitude is another reason why they will not have work from me or my community. I just don't trust this company.

Mr.McClarin is not a man of his word. We paid him to do the work he cut the trees down removed the debris, but did not grind not one stump. Made a statement he needed to cut down at least six trees in order for him to grind the stumps. Found out he had to rent the grinder. He was paid enough money to rent it. He told my husband to give him at least a week and a half and he will come back, To grind those stumps. Since he said he was a Christian man a preacher we said okay your word is your bond. Time goes by he did not keep his word. Sad to say my son got involved and he lied again. He quoted one price and it at the time of service he go up on his price.He also made a statement that he have to get some other job to make some money, I guess to rent the grinder. So much happened in that time frame I couldn’t believe it. You don’t have to go looking for Trouble, Trouble came knotting at my door. When you see him coming, please don’t open your door. He is TROUBLE !!!

Very Bad...Paid $5,000 for tree removal and clearing job that was to take 5 days. It would have cost me $8,000, but I am out $5,000. After three weeks, the Mr. McClarin excuse was "my truck is in shop". I have been patient and have asked Mr. McClarin to refund $3,000 and keep $2,000 as compensation for the trees his guys dropped. The job was so bad, the neighbor sent me a bill for tree dropped on his property that blocked his driveway. Good news was no injuries were reported. Unfortunately, this contractor is not credible and was way over his head. I am looking for this gentleman to “man-up” and meet my reasonable request for partial refund. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional group of people in my life!! I hired McClarin’s tree service to cut down 4 trees in my backyard. I was told upon hiring them it would only take 2 days to cut and remove the trees, and grind the stumps below the ground so that I could grow grass in my backyard. After the first day that they were here, they didn’t return for 4 days, which I later found out was because they were called by other people to do business. Upon returning it took another 3 weeks for them to complete the job- not kidding!! Throughout my nightmare ordeal, I experienced other issues that just sound to bad to be real!! One of the trees had to be climbed and cut piece by piece because it was close to my house and fence. They thought it was a good idea to do this at dusk. In fact it would not have been possible to finish if my backyard lights weren’t on. After they finished, I heard two guys talking (with no concerns of me hearing them) about riding together to get their "fix". Also, I served these guys food and drinks throughout the day. All of the paper cups and plates were thrown and left all over my yard. One employee asked my husband for a ride home, which was to a very scary part of town. The employees argued and cursed at each other. In fact, it was so bad; I had to keep my two year old and my neighbor’s kid away from my house. The owner of the company (Bobby) was going to leave a spare tire in my backyard. He said he would”come back and get it later”. They drove on my grass multiple times after I told them I had a underground sprinkler system. Lastly, after I moved the mulch from them grinding the stumps, I found that they were all still 3-5 inches above the ground. After calling for two weeks with no answer or returned calls I finally called from a different number and of course the call was answered immediately. I was told they would come back by, but of course, they never did!! I called a few more times to see if they were going to come back. The person that had the phone just started to pick up the phone and hang it up as soon as it was answered.
