Response from Kingdom Building
[member name removed], I'm confused and disappointed that you have given me a rating at all, let alone a C rating. But since you have, I'll take the time to give you one as well. I'll start with the details of our encounter. First, you contacted Angie's list looking for a handyman because you were frustrated that you were unable to find one to give you an estimate for your project. Angie's list contacted me and asked me if I would be willing to help you. I told them I was extremely busy but I would contact you and see if I could help you since you were a member and couldn't find anyone to give you an estimate. I contacted you and came over to look at your project. (All at no charge to you). I arrived and began talking with you about your project as your husband sat in his recliner. You and I walked around and talked for at least 30 minutes of which time I climbed up on your roof and took photos of some damaged shingles. We then went inside and looked at the interior damage, again, while your husband sat in his chair. We walked and we talked. And then as I was about to begin the end of the estimate all of sudden your husband gets up and I have to do it all over again with you and him. Of course, all of this using up my time for free. I walked around with him and explained everything all over again, and then I went into your attic, walking around and crawling around looking for the source of your water leak. Again, time and service to you for free...Once I was done with the second round of the estimate, I answered all your questions and gave you free advice on how to handle what might possibly be an insurance claim. Then as I was about to leave after about an hour and a half of my time, your husband asked me for a list of references....A list of references...yes I repeated that. Maybe I'm mistaken, but is that not what Angie's list is for? I finally got done with this free estimate that I went out of my way to do to help you. I called you a few days later and explained to you that my former customers didn't want me giving their Name and Numbers to complete strangers for this list of references that you wanted. I told you that I was still very busy but I had a contractor who works for me that may have time to get your project done before I could and I gave you his name and his number and my recommendation. You said thank you and that was that. Now that I have said all of this, I will say one more thing. I'm glad I didn't do any work for you, because it's apparent that after doing all I could do to help you in every way that I could, you are impossible to please. But never the less, I thank you for taking the time to give me a C rating for going out of my way to help you for free on time I couldn't afford to spend.
