Description of Work: I was active duty military and as I had been stationed overseas, we rented out our home. The renters attempted to destroy our home prompting major renovations. One such project involved the remodel of the master bathroom. I had a pre-existing shower ripped out and had it tiled as well as had an old whirpool tub ripped out and a new one put in...with the tub being tiled up around it. Please keep in mind that my experience with Mr. Brock occurred quite some time ago, however as we have tried to contact him several times to fix certain things with the work performed over the last couple of years and he has never returned any of our calls and/or shown up after promising to come out, AND after reading others assessment of their interactions with him I felt compelled to leave my assessment of our experience. Initially, Mr. Brock is very responsive and appears completely professional. The work was accomplished and I actually loved the work he did, but shortly after we had the tile shower put in and he received payment for services performed (and keep in mind he received additional business from our referring people to him), the responsiveness ceased. We did exactly as instructed and waited for the designated period and beyond before using the shower. However, the grout began cracking quickly after the job was completed and I attempted to call him many times before he actually took a call from me. He then promised he would come out and check on the problem and never showed up. This happened multiple times before I simply gave up on trying to deal with him at all. Once you pay him, regardless of the quality of the work performed, his responsibility to you apparently ends. I have since run into someone else that Mr. Brock was trying to convince to allow him to do some work at his residence and I informed him of what happened with us hoping to spare him potentially shoddy work and unresponsiveness to his needs. I will continue to do the same in the future...

+ -1 moreHe quoted a completely different price than what the total invoice was for. He did not want to do any work that could be remotely difficult and would try to come up with other ideas to give him more work. I was quoted a price and when the final billl was presented it was 40% more than agreed upon. The quality of work was mediocre at best. My best advice is go with someone else or have the final cost agreed upon in a written contract before any work is started. I learned my lesson with a 2000 bill for an 18 1/2 sq ft bathroom. Also the final day of work he did an awful job then showed up at my work place demanding payment before I even saw the final product. Unless you have an absolute emergency and Glen is the only person you can contact I would recommend looking for someone else.

+ 0 morePlease bear in mind that I'm a newbie at home repairs and remodeling. He made the tile sound reasonable. Shown me an example and gave me the price per foot to buy. I put down a deposit and he and I made a date for him to start. In the meantime, I've given him more cash. I did help to remove old carpet and tack strips. He bought flooring material...cement board, screws, the epoxy and whatever else was needed. I did not get an itemized list of materials until after the work was done. Then I got to see the labor cost as well. I was very taken aback by the total amount. I would've appreciated a written estimate of materials and labor BEFORE he started the job. To date, I'm a week away from paying the balance for the job. He did a good work on the floor, but I would have preferred a little more professionalism.

+ -1 moreBrock Ceramic Tile is a distributor and installer for a medium range of tile selection in diverse prices ranges.Tiles available come From various foreign and American manufacturers. Close-out tiles were identified and most popular styles are out front. The selection and sales process was enjoyable. The office staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Allowing the customer the space to make their own selection. At purchase a up-front down payment for materials is required to ensure commitment of customer. There was roughly a two week period between ordering and receiving the order and for scheduling in the installation schedule. During the process of determining installation expectations a personal discussion provides the opportunity fro customer to explain the expectations. In our case, it was expected that a kitchen floor that developed a hump over 20 years would be leveled out. No formal written contract of work expectations was provided - nor was it requested. A handshake between customer and owner/installer provided the contract. The installation process went well for the areas of the floor that were level - but the area of the floor where the hump existed presented difficulty. This area of the floor has to be done 3 times before an acceptable level of work was reached. The owner/installer demonstrated a very high level of pride in ensuring quality of work and ensuring his handshake was a bonding contract.
Description of Work: Sale and installation of ceramic tile in 2 and 1/2 baths, large kitchen, and laundry room.
