On May 8th, 2013, in mid cycle, my front loading washer stopped and showed an F 28 error. The machine did not respond to anything I tried. It was locked up. I called Bobby who told me that he would come out at noon. He showed up 4 hours late, then spend another 10 min. in the Driveway, on the phone, before coming in. He told me that the circuit board was bad and that the door was locked. With a screw driver he broke the door open without telling me and in the process broke the door switch and door Latch which he then charged me with. Then he called for the parts and told me that it would cost $400.00 for the parts alone. I hesitated and told him that I wasn't sure if the cost was worth it, but he told me that my washer which was 10 years old, was one of the first models build, and that because it was kept in such good condition it was worth the expense. "They don't make them like this any more" he said, so I agreed and he told me I had to write him a check for the parts before he could install them, so I did. He promised me that he would call me as soon as the parts would come in and I ended up calling him 2 days later in the morning. He told me that he would pick up the parts around 11:30 Am and that he would be over around noon but again did not show up until 4:30 Pm. Again he spend 10 minutes in the driveway smoking, ripping open boxes and cleaning out his pick up truck. When he finally came in, he told me that a front loader had kicked his butt. He then replaced the parts and told me that the service call was $65.00 and to make it out in his wife's name, so that I could get a tax break or it would cost me even more. The minute he left, I started a load of towels and as soon as I turned on the machine the same error flashed up and the door was locked again. I immediately called Bobby and had to leave a message. I called him several times that evening, but he never returned my call. I called him the next day which was a Saturday, at 8:00 Am and again left several messages, he never called back. Not knowing if I would ever hear from him again, I purchased a new washer that same evening. On Monday I called him and finally he answered the phone. I told him that I had left several messages and that I ended up buying a new washing machine. He told me that his wife told him not to answer the phone after he left me, because she wanted a quiet Mothers day weekend. He did agree to a full parts refund and that he would be coming out around noon time but again, he showed up at 4:00 Pm. He removed the parts and then told me that it had been his mistake, he had failed to tighten the door latch properly. He also admitted to me that he should have at least started the washer to see if he had fixed the problem, but that his wife wanted him home. She was fussing at him for working passed 9:00 Pm every night. I asked for half the service call amount to be refunded but he said no, it was a fair amount, that he did not charge for labor. I was told that he did not carry a checkbook and that his wife would send out the refund check. I should receive it within the next three days or when ever she gets off her butt.
Description of Work: The Main Circuit board was replaced and the Door latch that was locked up and had to be forced open and ultimately was broken in the process by Bobby was replaced as well.
