We hired Jeff Stover 20 years ago to build a home and he did a great job, so we hired him again in December 2018. It’s been a terrible experience. He basically took the money and disappeared. We’ve had to correct oversights and mistakes ourselves and spent tens of thousands extra due to his delays and mistakes. The contract completion date was October 2019, and a year later he’s still not done. He started in March 2019, so technically the home has been under construction for 19 months. We’ve made numerous attempts to contact him but he ignores them. We’ll be filing complaints with various Builder Associations and will likely have to sue him. He likes to say he “gave” us $10k in extras, but it’s all a lie, and he never would give us any receipts to back it up. His operation is unorganized and he’s very unresponsive. There were times when the house sat for weeks at a time with no one showing up to do anything. Keep in mind, this was all pre-Covid so that’s no excuse. We also talked with several of his subcontractors who don’t have good things to say about him. Don’t put yourself through what we’ve been through. Hire another contractor!
