We just moved to the area and the only spa supplier that was close to us was J Harris Pool so we went there. Wendy (Harris?) wife of Jody, worked behind counter and was nice enough in selling the hot tub, which we needed delivered quickly. We purchased the "only one" that would be available in the next couple of weeks (funny how the only one available was one of the most expensive tub they sold); it was delivered two days later than promised to which Wendy was not bothered at all, after all, she had gotten all of her money... Jody (who is a smooth, personable, slick guy) came and delivered and installed it. Never leveled it on the slanted cement. My husband told Jody that the tub was not level by over 2 inches and he wanted it fixed. Jody told me that it was ok to be unlevel and never came to level it. We then noticed soon after we got the tub that the jets would turn on high and stay on. We would go out and shut the jets off, because the tub was featured with a constantly circulating pump that was on all the time, we knew that the jets being on high that something was wrong, within minutes the jets would turn back on high again. We called and left messages a couple of times a week, no one ever returned our calls. We called with specific requests for Jody to call, with our name, number and problems with the tub. No response. We had stopped by numerous times (at least 10x) during December and January (seeing that the store is less than 10 miles from our house) and even during the posted "winter hours" the store was closed. No one around. One Saturday we went during the posted hours and stood at the front door in amazement. We noticed a truck had pulled to the side of the building, once we got in the car and began to leave, we noticed it was Jody in the truck. He had waited for us to leave before he got out of his truck and went around the back of the building. He was friendly as could be when he sold us the $6100 mess but apparently found it necessary to hide when we were at his business' door. We had a different reputable pool company come give us a design and estimate for an in ground pool a couple of weeks ago. The person was very familiar with BAJA spas and asked how we liked it. After we told him the problems we were having he informed us that a level spa was essential to the warranty and if the spa was filled and not level it could crack the tub and just by not having it leveled upon install would invalidate the warranty. We continued calling J Harris. We got through once to a woman named Donna, who called us back regarding the jets coming on all the time and she said Jody said it was normal; and she said Jody would call us about leveling the tub BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED. After 10's of attempts at leaving messages and going to the J Harris Pool business, my husband 3 weeks ago left a message for Jody to come get the tub and refund our money ...but again we have gotten NO RESPONSE Our advise is this, if you are looking for a hot tub, spa, inground pool, billiard table, pool supplies ... STAY AWAY FROM J HARRIS POOLS at 3610 South New Hope Road in Gastonia, NC or any location for that matter.... it has been a nightmare. We now own an empty $6,100. piece of junk...THANKS JODY AND WENDY
Description of Work: Purchased Baja Hot Tub, purchased Nov 12, 2010. Promised delivery and install Nov 16, delivered 2 days late. Owner, Jody and his brother in law wheeled it on its side and placed it on the sloped cement slab in back yard. Jody never leveled it, filled it with water, checked to see electric worked and left.

THESE FOLKS ARE VERY NICE. THEY ARE THE ONLY DEALER FOR MY KIND OF POOL IN THE UPSTATE AND WERE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO WAXHAW TO FIX MY POOL. THE SERVICE TECH (DWAYNE) WAS VERY HONEST AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT I DIDN'T SPEND MORE THAN WAS NECESSARY TO FIX MY POOL. SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE OWNED A POOL HE TOOK THE TIME TO EDUCATE ME ABOUT HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR IT AND ENCOURAGED ME TO CALL IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS IN THE FUTURE. OVER ALL, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE QUITE A DISTANCE FROM ME AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THEIR DRIVE TIME, I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM THIS COMPANY.
