I have attempted three times to add media to this review, but the site will not upload the photos. Our neighbor's yard is beautiful so we hired A+ for a contract to take care of our yard. They showed up, offered a quote that was a bit high, but we'd seen the quality job in the neighbors' yard so we agreed to the price. They were take care of seeding/aeration, cutting, edging, semi annual trimming of bushes, leaf removal etc. and they began working in the yard. Overall: C Price: D (higher than other quotes received, quality of work not worth their pricing) Quality: D (cut soaking wet grass with an industrial Z mower just hours after a hard rain and left huge spin marks and clumps of dead clippings in the yard, which killed large patches of grass throughout the yard; the owner did apologize and his guys came by to reseed, but they failed to rake up the dead clumps of clippings and continued to use the Z Mower after the owner instructed them not to use a riding mower on our yard for several weeks) Responsiveness: C-D (the owner responded originally about the dead grass, but he did not ensure his employees acted in accordance with his instructions and we are ''still waiting" on a quote to install a drainage line in the back yard. I also have not heard back from anyone at A+ about settling our account and cancelling our contract (I originally called 5/14 to begin the cancellation process)) Punctuality: A (the crew did show up weekly on the appointed day/time and did cut the yard) Professionalism: B (owner was always very professional in his correspondence and the crew was friendly/pleasant when we interacted; with regards to a business transaction, I feel a lack of communication speaks more to service/quality than a friendly attitude) Disclaimer: we planted Rye in the fall, which we know will die off for a month or so in spring and understand some of the dead grass was rye, but the spin marks and clumps of unearthed grass was not rye. We also understand that after you initially fertilize, you will experience significantly quick growth and grass may grow taller than anticipated - it was our impression that since we'd agreed to a year of service, A+ would cut our lawn twice for a week or two during the high growth period to keep the grass at an acceptable height. At one point, we called and asked if they would mind cutting twice that week since it had rained the week before and they did not come to cut; the grass was so tall we could no longer see our Scottish Terrier's back when he was outside. They did not cut twice and never did manage to get the grass to an acceptable height.

It is apparent that your interpretation of the quote provided to you was incorrect. At no point in the provided estimate did it ever state that more than one weekly mowing would occur during any time of the year. In addition, our original quote was provided months before we were contacted to begin service. Also when our original quote was provided, there was no evidence of Rye seed in your turf. Either the homeowner or another contractor advised them to put down Rye seed, which we never recommend due to the fact that we know its' growing habits during the Spring season. Our owner should have revisited the site prior to taking on the maintenance, which he did not do. Had we known that Rye had been installed, we would have declined servicing the property. The week that the clumps did occur, was also the same week that we were contacted by the homeowner and instructed to get the grass lower for the benefit of the dog, and it was the first non-raining week in 13 straight days. We attempted to appease the homeowner with their height request as well as attempting to service everyone on as close to a schedule as possible dealing with the inclement weather we received. Seed/straw was installed to correct the tracks that did occur in an attempt to rectify the situation. We did willingly cancel your contract upon notification from the homeowner with no penalty or fees involved which goes against the agreement that the homeowner signed and of which we have a filed copy. The homeowner also only compensated us for one months service even though they received service for 2 1/2 months We are quite happy to forgo the lack of payment to be removed from a situation in which homeowners feel that previously caused issues should be our immediate concern regardless of weather conditions and other factors out of our immediate control. If you make us inherit turf issues and conditions that we did not cause or direct you to perform, the least that we could be offered was a little understanding and time to correct issues previously caused by the homeowner or other contractor(s). We wish the very best to the homeowners and hope they can secure a contractor to provide them with the level of service they expect for a price that they are comfortable with.

Description of Work: Landscaping and lawn maitenance
Did not go well, They were here under two hours while putting together a raised bed. They charged us for eight hours labor. They used all the wrong material, and tried to charge us for removing wrong material used. They did not show up when they were scheduled. When they called to re-schedule we told them that we would be unavailable. While working at home they showed up ringing the doorbell relentlessly. They did this even after they were told that we would accommodate their time change but we were not to be disturbed. They were on a contract under which they were to perform all yard maintenance, including mowing, weeding the beds, getting rid of weeds in lawn, seeding, hedge trimming, laying down mulch etc. They did not weed the beds even though we complained weekly. Our lawn is now nothing but weeds since they took over. They only brought mulch after repeated phone calls from us. And then they actually had the nerve to show up on Memorial day unannounced. If that were not enough they did not bring enough mulch to finish the job. There is more but I do not have enough room. The only reason that I rated them with a D instead of an F overall is because the mowers did show up every week when they were scheduled. Even though they only mowed and did not remove the undesirable growth such as weeds etc. That they were contracted and paid to do. We ended our contract due to their breech of contract after six months.

It is quite comical SO many details regarding our work at your residence have left your memory. It's funny how you remember we only performed work on your raised bed for 2 hours (even though we have proof it was more) yet you finally after 6 months provided a payment for 4 hours (which we have proof of and can/will provide). You requested gravel for a base of the raised bed. You received what you requested even though to date, you have not paid for it stating that "you changed your mind" and decided you didn't want it. You also requested compost which we provided, here again, you did not like it, we removed it at our expesne, and you were not charged for this item either. (Hereagain, our invoice in your file show the removal of the charges for items that you changed your mind on) You obviously need to review the proposed contract that was given to you multiple times and read what was to be covered. You did not sign up with our company in time to receieve your spring treatment of Pre-Emergent. You also provided us with a property that has been neglected for multiple seasons. In addition, you were explained that it would take a year and a half at bare minimum to bring the property up to an acceptable level of appearance and maintenance. When we were initally contacted by you, you were given a pice to "clean up" your property which included trimming the shrubs and installing mulch, of which neither had been performed in over a year. You elected to go under a yearly maintenance contract with us as opposed to just getting the initial cleanup and having to pay to bring the appearance of the property up to a higher standard before we were expected to take on all of your neglected issues. Of the required payments per that agreeement, not a single payment was ever made on time. Only one payment was ever made in full. It took 6 months, countless invoices, and the threat of leagl action by us, just to get you to partially pay for services rendered. The required mulching was performed at your property. You even requested that our foreman bring out extra material so you could mulch an area that your wife did not want anyone to touch but you. This material was delivered, never to be payed for by you. Our crew leader was told on several occasions to not weed certain aeas of the property, due to herbs that your wife planted and harvested. No chemical agents were allowed on the property due to this either. This information was not provided to us when quoting the work. This was a misfortunate situation for all parties concerned. We were more than happy to part ways with the client(s) even though we had every right to continue service and seek out a judgement for non-payment. We lost substantial resources while trying to satisfy client(s) who refused to adhere to outlined specifications and payment terms. Countless man hours on behalf of our owner/foreman/crew leader/and account supervisor have been lost trying to deal with this client. We even receive WEEKLY emails asking us to join this client's Linked In account, which we have no interest in doing and would appreciate not being constantly harrassed in regards to it. We wish the family the best and hope that they can find a company who can provide them with the level of service that they feel they deserve at a price point and payment schedule that they are willing to adhere to.
