Smoke Alert Home Fire Safety

Employee wonderful, explained all, suggestions on how to keep safe, added new smoke detectors and carbon monoxide with battery back ups for out of date items. Had been meaning to get these updated, cost in line with Lowes and HD. Will have them back. Fire extinguishers if used they will replace for free within a time frame, not sure what that was.

It was good. It was alright. I give it maybe 6/10. I guess my problem with him is that they were firefighters and I was a little uncomfortable with that. I am not sure why but I would have preferred somebody who did this for a living rather than a firefighter.

Our neighbors, many of whom had addressed the same problem with their vent covers by installing new plastic covers, are now envious because of the obvious superior durability of our new covers, as well as their more contemporary style. In addition others applaud our decision to seize the opportunity to purchase a superior fie extinguisher as well as a much-needed escape ladder for use in emergency exit from our upstairs bedrooms. In addition the Technician, Mr. Crocker, inspected all of our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors for location and suitability, at no additional cost.

The technician was a fireman and he was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He recommended new alarms and fire extinguisher since mine were out of date. He reviewed fire safety procedures and made recommendations. He completed the work on time.

Everything went super. They scheduled me within a few days of calling. The tech came out and was slightly early (which was awesome) and completed the job faster than expected. Great service, great attitude, great price.

I'm truly grateful for Smoke Alert and their technician, Mr. Blake Crocker. Blake was patient and professional. He took the time out to educate both myself and my husband as to what safety measures and devices to acquire to ensure a safe home for our family. I truly learned a lot. I wish that SmokeAlert would have some informational/ instructional meetings for people within the community so many more can learn and equip their homes to live safer lives; it is much needed. Blake was prompt and kept me informed of the entire process and then he went straight to work and afterwards discussed with me about what he did and made some great recommendations; which we will do so very soon. Great. Travis was professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

Their work is excellent from first planning the work and talking to them about what you want through the finished job. This included helping me with an architectural request to my homeowners association to get approval for the relocation of the dryer vent exhaust. While the company is in business to make a profit, they are in my opinion honest and their customer service is just that; it is service to you rather than just service to the company's bottom line. I discovered that the company I used to clean my dryer duct a year ago charged me too much for the service since they charged by the foot. My duct at that time was 31 feet long. I was told that Smoke Alert does not charge by the foot and their cost for the cleaning service sounds low to me. I will use Smoke Alert to clean my duct yearly because after only one year, my duct was almost completely filled with lint buildup with little room for air to pass. I looked at the old duct before they threw it away. Thanks to Angie's List and all the reviewers of this company. It pays to read the reviews and notice how many reviewers there are for a specific company.

Smoke Alert called several times to verify appointment and to tell me technician was on his way. Technician actually showed up a little early, was very personable and efficient, and did a great job and left the work area cleaner then he found it. I was very pleased with the work, would recommend them, and will use them again.

When we emailed about scheduling an appointment I said that I had chimney swifts living in the chimney. I was told that they are protected so we'd have to wait until they left for the winter. During the fall I was very ill and did not follow up on scheduling an appointment. Last week I sent an email follow-up to get the work done. I got a phone call the next day and the manager was concerned the swifts might come back in the next few weeks so he offered a 1 pm appt that Saturday! I was surprised and happy that they have a guy that works Saturdays, so we made the appointment. On Saturday I got a call around 11:30 am by Travis saying he was way ahead of schedule so could he come by then. He was very polite and went about his work. First spreading a dark cloth on my new rug to protect it. We talked about my desire to have a cap placed on the chimney top and about possibly replacing my gas logs that didn't work. Be brought me a catalog showing the gas logs and then inspected and cleaned my chimney and fire box. When he was through we talked about the type of cap I needed on the chimney and I told him I'd think about the gas logs. After he had put his gear away he asked if I wanted a free inspection of my smoke detectors, dryer lint lines, etc. So we checked everything out. He told me what was not up to code and gave me prices for replacing old equipment. But there was NO pressure to buy, he just let me know the status of everything. He was a very nice guy and answered all my questions. He's going to give me a call on Monday with the price of the chimney cap so it can be ordered and I'll tell him if I want some new gas logs to be ordered as well. He offered an installation discount if I ordered both at the same time, which was great. I will definitely stick with Smoke Alert!

Arranged for an 11:am appointment.. I received a call the day before confirming the appointment. and another about 2 hours prior. There were also 2 emails but since that is not tied to my phone I did not see them until later. James arrived on time. He was dressed in a uniform with the company name over the pocket and introduced himself. He was polite and personable. I explained my issues and he did an inspection with a followup explanation of his recommendations. He worked for about 2 hours and completed all work to include a home fire inspection. I purchased two fire extinguishers since his price was competitive with retail stores. We will definitely use them again and I have already recommended them to a couple of friends.

Excellent job, avoided making a mess, told us what might go bad with our fireplace. Excellent service.

Smoke Alert is great, it is easy to schedule, they confirm everything by email and even let you know they are on the way. Very personable, explain everything clearly and since they are all firemen, they give great advice and assistance with fire safety. In the home I am purchasing the fireplace needed new panels and was cleaned. In the home I am selling, it needed to be inspected and cleaned. They did a wonderful job and I will definitely use them again! They are also very reasonably priced.

It was easy to schedule the appointment and I was able to get on the calendar in a reasonable time frame. The technician (Keith) was early, but he called and confirmed that was acceptable first before arriving. Keith was very professional and both fixed the issue I called about (poor air flow with dryer vent) and also answered my other questions (smoke detectors and fireplace). He was very knowledgeable and even took the time to give us some tips on how to use our fire extinguisher correctly (he is a firefighter as well). Our dryer works MUCH BETTER now - turns out there was a bird nest in the vent! We had a very good experience and would both recommend them to others and use them again ourselves.

Smoke Alert Home Fire and Safety offer a great and reasonably priced service to inspect, clean and repair chimneys. They provided a two hour appointment window for the inspection and sent an email reminder about 4 hours ahead of showing up, and then called about 20 minutes before the scheduled time to say they were on the way. Their technician Blake was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional and their evaluation was thorough. They provided photo's to show what they saw on the roof and explained option for repair. After providing an estimate we agreed to have them sweep the chimney, power-wash the exterior chimney brick and then seal the brick, and Blake also sealed the chimney cap (The house was built in 1975 and the cap was badly cracked. In addition, they added smoke alarms to our bedrooms. Overall it was a pleasurable service experience as they showed respect for our property and cleaned up as they worked. I would not hesitate to recommend this firm to other homeowners.

Guess I put it all in the first box and since I did I will just add THEY WERE AWESOME........THEY DESERVE an A+ in every category.

It went very well. He called to say he was ahead of schedule and could he come in 45 minutes. I was thrilled. So nice not to have to chase after someone. Very professional and very personable. I've already recommended them to my sister and she's made an appointment.

Called Smoke Alert to do an inspection on my gas logs as they had not been checked in a couple of years. In the mean time,the pilot light would not stay on. Lonnie came at scheduled appointment time. He also called to let me know when he was on the way. He performed the needed work and also checked my dryer vent at no charge. Sometime after he left, I had the same problem with the logs. I called the office and Lonnie came back out at no charge and fixed the problem. I have had no more issues with the logs.

Ask a lot of questions and they will have the answer. Also, you can call back if you think of a question later. A great service!

The technician Blake Crocker called before estimated time of arrival window and arrived at given time. Blake went over each step of his work. He was polite, personable and professional. After service was completed, Blake discussed the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in the house. and he checked the fire extinguishers in the home. I highly recommend this service provider and will be using them in the future.

We had Smoke Alert come out last year to clean dryer vents. They got the airflow restored to make our hi tech new dryer stop complaining about airflow. When the technician told me that they offer the fire and smoke alarm services, we purchased their safety inspection, fire extinguishers package. They replaced two 10 year old smoke/co2 alarms that I purchased from them; and sold me two fire extinguishers. Jonathan did this service and was very professional and courteous. Last week one of the detectors malfunctioned. I left them a voice mail. My call was returned promptly by the owner Chris. He offered to mail me a new Alarm or send a technician. I opted for the technician visit. He moved the schedule around to accommodate me sooner. I appreciated that. He also mentioned their annual service plan which perpetuates the warranty in smoke detectors; changes out batteries, tests dictators and airflow to dryer vent etc. The price of this program was very reasonable hence I went for it. The technician came out ( Charlie) who was as professional, courteous and punctual as the one last year ( Jonathan). He replaced the malfunctioning smoke detectors. He also replaced the third one that was not working properly ( I paid separately for that). I like their service because - It keeps us current on a very important part of safety - It is very reasonably priced. The amount of time we save is probably worth that price. - New and sensitive smoke detectors malfunction a lot and their perpetual warranty means I do not have to run to Home Depot every time one malfunctions. - They are professional and punctual - True to the noble reputation firefighters have; they do not mark up smoke detectors or fire extinguishers it appears. I found their prices very much similar to Home Depot or amazon. All in all a needed service to have.
