Description of Work: The deal I paid for (chimney sweeping and safety check) was great! What was not great was that they found other problems that if I get it all done will add up to close to a thousand dollars. That does not count the 2 new smoke and CO detectors I purchased the day of the check and a new fire extinguisher.

Description of Work: They swept my chimney and completely inspected my chimney inside and out, along with my entire house. They inspected the dryer vent, smoke detectors, roof, and gas appliances. After all the work, they completely discuss their findings and recommendations. They then provided an itemized list with pricing to take care of everything they found, but do not apply the hard sale. I was really impressed with how thorough they were, providing photos and discussing our options. The fact that they are owned and operated by fireman helped me trust them too. I will exclusively use them going forward.

Description of Work: The dryer vent cleaning had never been done in the 9 years the house had been here. It was way overdue but there was no extra charge over The Big Deal price. 18 months later (the amount of time suggested between dryer vent cleanings) I called Smoke Alert again. The vent closure was slightly broken and there was a bird's nest on the inside. That was removed, a new vent closure put on and I also had all of the smoke detectors checked. A couple were over 10 years old and needed replacing. The price was reasonable and the work was done quickly and professionally (on both occasions). I will call them again in about a year. Both Angie's List and their website offer a good discount.
