Very happy with work done. The fire prevention that I have taken is well worth the money. My technician was very professional and efficient. I definitely would recommend this company for dryer vent cleaning.

I took advantage of an Angie's List deal and had my chimney cleaned. The company called and scheduled an appointment with me quickly. Keith came out as scheduled and on time. He cleaned and inspected my chimney and educated me a bit on fire safety. He checked my dryer vent asked about my smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. It was very interesting and he gave me some tips on keeping my home fire safe. I would call them again.

Vendor called and set up a convenient appointment time, telling us who would be coming. Lonnie was a bit ahead of schedule, so when he called before arriving we agreed he could come early. He disconnected the dryer from the exhaust, attached a blower, and used the blower to clean out all the lint broken loose in the line by a rotating brush inserted from the outside vent opening. He also cleaned around the dryer, where lint had collected due to an improper (original) connection, and corrected the problem when he put the dryer back in place. He was quick and efficient, very professional, and the result was excellent.

The employees are Chapel Hill firemen and are prompt, courteous and professional. They inspected the dates of all of the smoke detectors (smoke detectors have a lifetime of 10 years) and replaced the ones which had expired. I will definitely use this company again.

VERY well, I chose Smoke Alert primarily because it is a business run by firemen: 1) I figure these guys volunteer a lot of their time to keep us all safe, least I can do is support their business; and 2) I know dryer fires are one of leading cause of house fires, who better than to provide preventive service than a fireman. With respect to cost estimates, Smoke Alert was competitive with other service providers. The distinguishing service for relatively the same cost, is that SmokeAlert offers FREE home Fire safety inspection. Now, I had this dryer vent cleaned ~2yrs ago by another service provider. That initial service provider didn't let me know that a coupler in my vent line was of Paper! fabrication. Are you kidding me? Paper and heat are a recipe for fire if I ever heard one. Smoke Alert identified that and for nominal fee replaced with metal coupler. No need to call a second vendor, Smoke Alert fixed right there for me. Smoke Alert also checked out the smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher with safety suggestions on them as appropriate. My smoke detector was 20+ yrs old, they were able to put a new wired-in one in right then as they aren't supposed to be older than 10yrs. So for the same money it would cost to have anyone clean the dryer vent ($80) we now have the piece of mind in knowing that we have fixed the fire hazard of a paper element in the dryer vent and are up to speed on all precautions to avoid a fire for a nominal fee ($50 for both replace paper vent coupler And new smoke detector). Very grateful for Smoke Alert's help and will Definitely be telling friends of them as well as using them for future dryer vent cleanings.

It was fine. They had some good recommendations. They found a couple of things we needed to change. I was suppose to call them back when I put a new dryer in, but in the end the contractor who put in the new dryer took care of it. All in all I felt they were very professional.

They actually came a few days early because of a change in schedule. The technician was very professional and friendly. A wooden grate had to be removed (and later replaced) to gain outside access to the dryer vent which the technician handled with no problem. He answered all our questions at the end of his work. We would certainly both recommmend them and use them again.

Scheduling was a breeze with their online service request and prompt response. They called prior to coming, showed up on time, were professional and courteous to our time. I will definitely be calling them again next year.

Serviceman was great. He did an assessment of the safety of my home in relation to fire prevention. I would highly recommend this company and I will use them again in the future.

The provider was very professional and flexible with my time. He put everything back in its place when the vent cleaning was done and proceeded to check the alarms and gave good advice about safety items that were out of date or not working properly. I purchased a new carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher from him, which saved me a trip and a long discussion about what to buy.

It was good. It functions now. It was a good price.

They did a great job! They even replaced (for free) the outside vent flap when it broke while they were clearing the dryer vents. They also offered some good advice regarding fire extinguishers and alarms.

They were on time and informed me when they were going to be a little late. They allowed me to set up a payment plan for the work done and the additions I purchased as well. I would recommend them to anyone, I particularly liked that the owners of the company were local firemen which is very helpful with the inspection and safety precautions.

I purchased an Angie's Big Deal dryer vent duct cleaning for $79. The duct system was clean so cleaning was not necessary. The vent system I had was outdated, thus the $79 was applied to installing a new system which cost an additional $276 for a total of $355. The service person was prompt, courteous, and conscientious. He cleaned the floor behind the dryer as well as the back of the dryer. All together he was here around 1 1/2 hrs. The workmanship was excellent. The price, however, I felt was too expensive.

Overall, I am very pleased with the service. The entire service call was handled with professionalism, from putting on the booties over his shoes to leaving no trash, dirt or dust. And, best of all, clothes now dry in one cycle, saving electricity!

Since the system was old, an update would be required to the tune of $300 plus, before any work could be done and I was not ready to pay that amount at that time. I would like my $79 refunded at your earliest convenience. Thank you, M. M.
