I've been with them for years, they know what they're doing, they were very polite. If you tell them not to spray in certain areas, they will listen to you. They're just really good. And if you're not happy, they will come back right away. They really wanna make the customers happy. The price was $109.00 every quarter.

I did not have any work done. Instead a sales person or technician, I am not sure which, showed up at my door to see if I needed pest services. The gentleman said he was working with my neighbor (I did not know this neighbor because I am new to the neighborhood) because this neighbor had a problem with ants. I informed the gentleman that I already had a pest service but thank you. He didn't stop there. He should have stopped talking and left but instead he became the sales person no one wants to deal with. Instead he proceeded to ask me who I have my services through. I let him know. He then proceeded to tell me everything that is wrong with that company and their services. I was very close to shutting the door on him but I was trying to be polite. If he had any social skills or sales skills he would have picked up on my body language and the look on my face. If he had those skills he would have known to walk away and I wouldn't be writing this review of this company. Unless someone asks a sales person or a technician why they are better than another company, what they think of xxxx company, please compare several companies with their own, people should not speak down about or bash a company someone else uses. I will never recommend Sage Pest Control to anyone and I will never reach out to them for pest control.

I phoned the company in Raleigh location to complain about spiders and other pests inside my home. When the technician came out, he thought nobody was home, but I watched him through the blinds. I did this because we are new to this company and I wanted to "test" their honesty... From the time he arrived until he left ( and this included the time spent writing out the bill), it was 6 mins. According to what he wrote down, he cleaned spider webs all the way around my house, sprayed for pests and did a thorough inspection of the property. He never took out any sort of spray can, nozzle, hose, canister or any other type of pesticide. I immediately called the company and told them what happened. The girl who answers the phone is very young and inexperienced. She tried her best and contacted the technician. He is supposed to come back out and "do it right." We shall see. I am extremely unhappy. I also want to that it took 3 phone calls to even get them to come out. Not cool. Terrible communication and dishonest!!!

I live in a neighborhood with clearly-marked "No soliciting" signs at all entrances. A nice young man showed up on my doorstep Saturday morning pitching Sage's services. It was rather disruptive to our day. I saw on Nextdoor that Sage also hit several other neighborhoods in our area (all of which had the same "no soliciting" notices, which Sage disregarded. I'm not sure why they think violating neighborhood rules will endear them to prospective customers. We will not use Sage for this very reason.

First off, let me say that Sage employs the nicest people. They're always friendly, courteous and willing to redo jobs (that they should've done right in the first place). However, when it comes to pest control, I don't need friendly people, I need the 300 Spartans to come and kick some [butt]. Sage tries to be environmentally friendly, but isn't the environment the enemy in this case? They knock down spiderwebs that are up in a day and their wasp spray is useless. Other than spiders and wasps, I haven't seen a lot of cockroaches so I'm giving them at least a C. If you're a person who is very environmentally conscientious, I'd recommend Sage, as you will be experiencing much of what nature has to offer.

Our issue is failure to provide service/breach of contract. We purchased an annual , monthly contract from their door-2-door sales person, giving him a check and signing a document expecting to receive the contract terms quickly. About 3 weeks later the contract terms showed up in our email and it varied from what we remembered the sales person telling us (it was not exactly monthly but had several months, a break in service during winter months, and resumed service in the spring). Still, in good faith we began the service - and right away started having difficulties with service technicians not showing up - and with the product/service not killing the pests (specifically spiders, ants, aphhids, japanese beetles and voles). The contract sent by email stipulates delivery in certain months, with unlimited returns if the pests fail to be eliminated. The service technicians would call after not showing up, or simply not show up. The one technician who came to visit told us that the company was trying to expand to Raleigh, but he was over-worked with too many houses to service. We called to complain and reschedule at least 3 times - which means that every single contracted service delivery date was missed or not completed on time. We did receive 2 service calls (both rescheduled), and 1 re-visit which is provided for in the contract- WHICH WE PAID FOR. We were called by Sage to cancel the last service date due to "hurricane" issues, although there were no issues in Raleigh at the time. It felt like another excuse and we asked for a manager to call us about our problems. No one called, and in September we gave up and sent a written letter documenting our complaint and stating breach of contract on their part for failing to meet the terms of the contract. We know that they received it because they sent us a bill for $211, and this month, another bill with a past due penalty. This is very poor customer service and could have been resolved, had management cared to call us and respond to our earlier complaints. It appears they want us to pay for the entire year's service, without providing the services at all or talking with us about the issues we've had. Very disappointed. Our request is to cancel the contract. Failing this, we would like a written explanation and commitment to meet the terms of the contract including return visits. We'd like to point out that due to failure to deliver the services when scheduled, or to return when product didn't work, pests caused damages to our home and property. We don't want to take this to court, but we are willing to document this and do so.

Description of Work: This provider, who does not have a local office, has sent their sales people to our neighborhood twice in the past 3 months. They go door to door (ignoring no soliciting signs) to sell their service. They use the "your neighbors down the street recently signed up with us" dialog. Their business practices are unscrupulous at best.

I'm sorry that you have encountered one/some of our representatives ignoring the no soliciting sign at your home. When homeowners have that posted on their property we teach and train our representatives to be aware and respect those. We want all customers and homeowners to come away from their interactions with Sage Pest Control as a positive one. Because we are the fastest growing pest control company in North Carolina and those that currently don't have our services see that we do so much more than our competitors, our employees get excited and enthusiastic about our products and services. One of the ways we establish new customers is running a direct marketing program. When we have a route that is lean we will ask our representatives to target those areas to acquire a larger customer base on our routes. We have customers now in every city and practically every neighborhood in the Raleigh/Durham area, so it's not unusual for our representatives to indicate why we are offering services and discounts while we are there. All of our reps have iPad's where they can show you our current customers in the area, as well as recently sold customers. Because we are coming to the doors when homeowners aren't expecting us, we understand there is a lack of trust initially. We really try hard to do a great job by identifying who we are, what we are doing, and why it can be beneficial to them. The number one question asked to us is, "who else are you doing in the neighborhood?" So we like to share that information with them(upon our customers permission) because it makes the person we are talking to more comfortable with our interaction. Going door to door myself for several years I know personally some of the conversations that take place with homeowners. Almost all have been positive, but I know from experience that isn't always achieved on the door. As far as your other concern we are located locally. Our office building is 551 Pylon Drive Suite C in Raleigh. We also have an office in Charlotte located at 2231 Executive Street Suite A&B.
