I hired Carter Engineering to inspect a home I was buying. Time was an issue. Everything was handled in a professional way which gave me confidence that I understood the issues thoroughly. Follow through was excellent. I cannot say enough good things about Carter Engineering. Fair price, too.

The best experience I've ever had with any type of contractor/home helper/consultant. Sean's thoroughness of inspection was incredible. He spent 30 minutes in my attic alone and checked every nook and cranny in and outside my house. He faced challenges-- my attic has no stairs, the rain was dumping and we had to work around my dogs because of the rain. This didn't phase Sean. He was not only great with his work, he was very personable and provided every bit of information I could ask for on what things needed to be done for preservation (thankfully no real damage yet:)). He also was happy to answer any questions I sent over the next week or so. He gave me contacts for all the types of work he recommended so that I don't even have to do the work of finding people to do the preservation work! He billed me only after he confirmed that I was completely satisfied and his fee was extremely reasonable. I have already passed his name on to several people and will recommend him to everyone I know.

To be clear, this was consulting, not contruction. Sean was great--knowledgable and personable as well as courteous. He kept in touch, was open to my schedule and taught me a lot about my house. Aside from providing exactly what I wanted, he also shared a lot of information with me about how I could do things to better my property myself (and why I should) and for work best left to experts, he gave me multiple names and contact info. I'll be calling on him again when I get further along towards selling my house. I very much recommend Sean!

I contacted the company and they were overwhelmingly helpful. They were able to give me solid advice and went out of their way to help me answer my questions. I have to say that Sean did more than anyone I have ever called to ask a question that he could have easily refused to answer or say he had to come out before giving me an answer. I will use his company for any engineering services I might need in the future.
