+ -1 moreAlthough these chairs are old, they wouldn't fit into the category of "valuable" antiques. They're valuable to me because of their sentimental value. But, Buddy Salpeck treated them with utmost care. He did the work quickly and beautifully. Some of the stretchers across the base of the chairs had actually splintered off and Buddy even fixed those places. There are no more brackets and the repairs are almost invisible. Considering the condition of the chairs when he got them, Buddy worked miracles. The chairs look great and are completely solid now. As Buddy said when I got them back, "This should last you another hundred years." I couldn't be more satisfied.
Description of Work: I have my parents' original oak dinette set from when they married in the 30's. There are four chairs. Over the years, the chairs had become increasingly unstable. It got to the point that I no longer felt comfortable sitting in them or allowing guests to sit in them. Several of the joints were just coming apart. I had added some metal L brackets but it seemed like every attempt I made at fixing one joint would just lead to another joint coming apart.

+ -1 moreBuddy did fantastic work. He picked up the furniture and delivered it. His work was awesome. It was not bargain work, but the price was reasonable. Buddy actually did a little more than he had promised. It took a little longer than planned, and it was sometimes difficult to get Buddy on the phone, but that did not present a problem in this case because we did not have a deadline. We would definitely engage his services again.
Description of Work: Buddy repaired several pieces of family heirloom furniture that had been damaged in many years of use or by moving companies.
