Using Angie's List, I identified Handyman Solutions of Chapel Hill as a likely candidate for the job and I emailed Chuck Solomon of Handyman Solutions. He asked for a photo of the area needing work. I sent a picture by email and received a quote. I agreed to the cost and requested that Handyman Solutions schedule for the job. Immediately after a rain delay of a few days, a time was set for the work and an employee of Handyman Solutions arrived on time. He was pleasant and professional. He surveyed the areas to be repaired, went to the nearest lumber supply store, quickly purchased the necessary materials, returned and efficiently repaired the rotted areas of the eaves. The carpenter did excellent work and, using paint supplied by me, finished the job by painting the new wood. When the job was done, the repairman told me the cost and I gave him a check for the work. The cost was within the quote for the job. I had to ask for an invoice for my records and a promise for an email copy was made. The invoice arrived in a timely manner but surprisingly was not broken down in terms of labor and material which is the only part of the overall transaction that I found somewhat unsatisfactory.

The young man that came to do the work was pleasant and worked in a professional manner. He showed up on time and stayed on the job until it was finished. I am satisfied with his work.

Chuck was very helpful and we clearly outlined and agreed on the scope of work and price. Chuck showed up on time and completed the work very professionally. Completed ahead of his estimated time. Area was left clean. We are very satisfied.

He did a perfect job he was right on estimate it was around 1600 dolllars he as very agreeable to making changes and adding things while he was working on it.

They did a great job. After initially speaking with someone on the phone we were able to set up an appointment via email. The person arrived as scheduled and completed the work quickly, "no-fuss, no-muss". It was absolutely painless. He did a beautiful job and left the area as clean as when he arrived. I couldn't be more pleased.

Chuck came out for the estimate very quickly and gave me the estimate right there on the spot. It took a couple of rounds of e-mail and phone call to get the work scheduled. Once it was scheduled, Amando Alves from A & S came on time. It seems Amando is a subcontractor who Chuck uses when he has too much work. Amando was very nice and professional. He worked very hard to level the gutter. I still don't know if it's completely fixed yet since it has not rained after the repair (I guess don't have to tell anyone, we all knew 2007 is going to the record book as a year of drought). Amando replaced the light very efficiently. He even took out a wasp nest at the corner of the ceiling for me. I was pleased with the work.

We were very happy with the work done and the helpfulness of all the personnel involved. A different person did the crawl space and the bathroom.

Chuck was very prompt with my initial email, and we set up an initial appointment. About a week later, I was asked to reschedule the appointment to later the same day. As I was unable to meet at the time suggested, I sent an email suggesting several other dates. Two emails later (suggesting even more dates for Chuck to come out) he has stopped relying to my emails.

No surprises. I was satisfied with the work.

I found amazing how much money they saved me! I thought I needed to have many things completely replaced and they were able to fix them. They went out of their way to save me a lot of money. I was going to have them haul away a wood stove insert, but they suggested I put it in the classifieds as "free" and I didn't have to pay hauling fees. It was just a very excellent experience.

He told me that he charged by the hour and that the job would not take that long. He came out this morning (the next day) and did the work he also notice that i needed some caulking done and was able to do that for me as well. I appreciated his honesty and he did a good job. I will call him again when needed.

Chuck was wonderful. I contacted him by email, and he responded within 24 hours. We worked out a day/time for him to come and give an estimate, and he showed up on time. We talked about the work and he answered my questions and gave me an estimate. Within a few days he called to say he would be there the next day. The work was well done and he cleaned up after himself. He kept to the price he had quoted and pointed out a few things that would need attention in the future which I hadn't noticed. Chuck was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and did a good job. I would definitely use his service again.

Our experience with Handyman Solutions has been very positive. Chuck is very prompt and thorough, extremely personable, and easy to work with. I intend to use him for jobs around the house in the future, and highly recommend him.

He arrived on time, completed just over the 2-hour estimate and charged for 2 hours.
