I asked for several things to be done on the outside of the house. I got a respones in the form of an e-mail with an estimate on May 28th. I agreed to the job on June 2nd via e-mail. Weather halted the job. I asked them to let me know when. I got a n e-mail 6/22/2010 that they would start the job. I never saw them on the 22. I called Chuck Solomon at 3:30pm on the 22nd got a "What, he didn't come. He was supposed to be there." I fired him. Totally unprofessional, not reliable and should be ashamed of calling himself a bbuisness man

Punctual. Completed the task the date requested.

It went very well. We agreed on a list of work to be done to respond to a home inspection for a pending sale of the house. The workmanship was first class and completed on schedule. I have used this company before and found them to be excellent and reliable.

He was very pleasant and he made a lot of suggestions on how we could save energy. The person who came out to do the weather stripping on our door didn't do a very good job and it fell right off. He came out and did it again, and it still wasn't good enough. We ended up doing it our self. For the caulking on the shower, we had to have him come out again to do that because the caulking around the shower wasn't done very well. They were responsive.

Their price was reasonable, and the quality of their work was good. It worked out great for me, so I will definitely use them again.

They appeared to be good and thorough. They got back to me right away. The price was a little high. I will probably not use them.

They were supposed to do the bathroom renovation. As they were busy and since our schedules didn?t match, we decided to go with another person for the job. We decided to use somebody else for the bathroom renovation because they had a better idea to do it. Handyman Solutions did everything that they were supposed to. They didn?t come out on time, though. They are really booked up and so we will probably find somebody else.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was very reasonable and the quality of their work was good.

We've used Handyman Solutions before for plumbing and repairs with excellent results, and when we saw other Angie's List reviews saying their painting services were good, we decided to try them for painting our master bedroom and bath. Chuck came to estimate and asked useful questions to clarify just what we expected (trim? etc). He saw we had tried several paints on the wall to choose what we wanted, and we told him we could provide the Olympic brand (Lowes, where we had a 10% discount) paint code for our chosen colors. He told me that he preferred to use Sherwin-Williiams brand paint and had a contractors' discount that would probably equal our discount. He could use the Olympic codes, he said, and the S-W could match it. Then he emailed to say that S-W did not have that paint code in their data base. He told us we could either (1) pay extra for a second coat with Olympic (even tho we were willing to use their best quality paint), (2) go to S-W and pick out another paint from their choices, or (3) take the paint code cards to S-W and have them match it for us. We didn't want to pay extra, and we certainly didn't want to have to start the paint color tests again, so we chose door # 3. Notice: he never offered to take the paint code cards there himself on our behalf; once he had asked them about the paint code, solving the problem was in his mind to be our responsibility. So I travel - reluctantly and inconveniently - to Lowes, pick out the coded paint cards for our preferred colors and then go to S-W. The person behind the counter tells me that she can't match the color for me until I know what kind of paint I want for my rooms. She means brands, she says. How do I know what kind of paint? That's Chuck's decision. I try to call him, but he's not answering. I leave a message - admittedly, a very irritated message. I tell him that I was on a wild-goose chase here, that now I will have to hear from him and then take time again to come back to S-W, in order to do what I consider his responsibility. I'm not the one who knows about painting types and brands, and I wonder why he can't do the same thing I did - come by our house and get the paint chips and handle it for us. He does not call back. After 6 hours I send an email asking whether he got my message. He replies only: "You were rather rude to me in your voice message and believe it was uncalled for. I have always tried to be helpful, courteous and professional to you and Mia. I am open to apologies.... Otherwise please find someone else." No acknowledgment that I am an unhappy customer. No acknowledgment that I was having to make extra trips because he wasn't trying to do what should be the contractor's job. No effort to try to satisfy the customer's needs. I felt pressured to accept his paint brand because of his preferences or his special deals with S-W. I challenge his statement, in my eyes, he did not try to be either helpful or professional, and I will not use his painting services. UPDATE: After this report was originally posted I received a very positive telephone message from Chuck, acknowledging his role in expecting me to follow through with S-W. It was a very responsible and courteous message - but I wish it had been done before I posted the above report! We have decided to seek someone else for this job.

They were fast, they were tidy, and they were a pleasure to deal with. There was a spot in the shadow that needed a touch-up; they came and did it immediately when asked. Other renovations are still in progress, but it feels ten times more pleasant already.

Chuck from Handyman Solutions came in and helped us figured out the details and what we were looking for. We sent him a picture of roughly what we wanted. He then sent over Josh, who completed the work in 2 1/2 days.

I talked to them about doing a bunch of projects. They were timely, gave me good estimates and explained what needed to be done. I got what I paid for.

They promised a Sat. visit but were able to come early.

I spoke to Chuck over the phone roughly one week ago and described the type of work that I needed. I appreciated the time that Chuck spent on the phone with me and also appreciated that he seemed honest and willing to talk me through the entire process. In addition, he quoted a clear labor price and stuck to it. We also exchanged a number of emails prior to installation and Chuck was extremely easy to work with and responded quickly to all of my questions. He was a pleasure to work with and made the entire process painless. Today was the installation. Armando handled the installation and worked from the second he arrived until the moment he left. The craftsmanship was excellent and everything looks perfect. The price was very fair for the amount of work involved and the time needed. Also, I made some mistakes on my side with measurements and Chuck personally delivered the extra wood needed and then spent at least 30 minutes offering me free advice on how to handle other repairs on my condo and situations that led to the original damage. He absolutely was not soliciting business for himself. These are high quality people and I highly recommend their services. I absolutely will be using them for future jobs and will also recommend their services to friends/family.

They were very satisfactory. The person who sent out the workers followed up very well. They were fine and very adequate. They were punctual and they did a good job.

Chuck was very responsive by both phone and email. He was very personable and friendly. His quote for the work was dead on. He showed up exactly on time and completed the work exactly on schedule. He charged me two dollars for some screws which was so satisfyingly affordable. I will call him first for any work that needs to be done on the house in the future.

While the handyman was punctual and polite, he evidently did not know enough about plumbing to do either of these jobs. He should have simply told me that he was not qualified to do the jobs. On the waste disposal installation, he attached the trap pipe upside down, making the disposer itself become a trap, so that the disposer remained full of water all of the time. After he left I discovered this, and called for him to correct the pipe connection. He returned, charged me $13 more for additional parts and changed the installation. When he finished he admitted that he was confused as to how to proceed, and he told me that he knew that the connections were still not correct but that I should hire a plumber to get it right. The pipes leaked continuously until I later had a professional plumber fix the problem. I turn now to the basement faucet. I had bought a replacement faucet and wanted him to install it. On his first trip he did try to install it but broke the existing supply pipe in the process. This faucet did not have its own shut-off valve, so he had to leave the general shut-off valve to the whole house turned off. He said he did not have the tools to repair the pipe, and told me that I would need a plumber to repair it. Since I had no water, I immediately phoned a plumber who came the next morning and quickly repaired the pipe and installed new shut-off valves for the sink. So the result of these two jobs by the handyman was total failue. I had a professional plumber repair the basement pipe after the handyman's first visit and I again had to hire the plumber to come a second time to correctly connect up the waste disposer drain after the handyman's second visit. The plumber said that the handyman (in his second visit) had installed the T intersection upside down in addition to routing the pipes incorrectly. It is obvious that the handyman was not qualified to do any plumbing work. After paying the handyman $116, I had to pay the plumber $311.69 for the two separate trips to fix the mess that the handyman had left.

Sent email requesting quote for Home Maintenance Inspection. Chuck replied "the cost for a check-up is based on the size of you home and start at $75. If can send me your square footage, I can reply with the price." That seemed expensive for what is basically paid new business development. I indicated so in a reply email. I then asked how much to caulk our garage. He did not bother to answer my 2nd inquiry. In my opinion: If vendor wants the business, he should answer the inquiry. If he does not want the business, he should just say so rather than not answer. We will not use him or try to use him again.

Antonio and his co-worker called to let me know that they would be late and wanted to make sure the time would work for me. They arrived at the new time we had agreed upon. They moved and rewired numerous lights as well as installed a ceiling fan in what felt like 15 minutes. They were quick, clean and efficient. In addition, they also fixed two windows that were off their tracks. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently they worked.

Excellent job. Neat, courteous, professional staff. Will get bid from them on another project soon.

It went very well. Armando did the work and he did a great job. He also got along well with our dogs!

Chuck met me at my home and we reviewed everything I needed and he put me at ease and listened to what I had to say. He actually talked me out of doing some things because he said I really didn't need them. He scheduled the work, told me the supplies I needed to buy and where I would find them. His crew came to the house; very professional; very clean; very friendly. Completed all work in a reasonable time frame and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased.

Chuck was amazing. I had less than 24 hours to ready my house for a film crew and Chuck altered his schedule and came early, did the jobs and was gone. Clean up was amazing. All in all a very, very positive experience.

I contacted Chuck and had several email conversations with him. Once I decided I preferred him to supply materials, we discussed his taking care of other projects (which I listed for him) on the exterior of the house. We set a date for him to come out and as far as I understood, do ALL the repairs. A half hour after I expected Chuck, I got a call from Alphonso saying that he was running late. I appreciated the call but wondered who Alphonso was. When he got here (an hour late) he told me Chuck was out of town and that he worked for him. I expressed my displeasure at not knowing someone besides Chuck would be doing the work, as that is who has the A rating on Angie's List. As I began to show Alphonso what needed done, he said he would just be doing the screens today. So that's what he proceeded to do. After re-screening, Alphonso reported he was done. I asked if he was going to re-caulk and he said he could and if I had paint he could touch that up too. If I had not mentioned the caulking, it would not have been done. Each screen got more loose. I didn't examine them all closely until he was gone and then found two that are very loose to the point of drooping. Not only was there no attempt to clean up after himself, I also found nails that are now embedded in the slats of my deck. Most importantly, I am displeased that Chuck himself did not do the work or even tell me that someone else would be.

We were moving to CH from another state and needed our home to be painted before we moved in due to allergies. Chuck from Handyman Solutions was attentive, professional and accommodating throughout the entire process. We arrived with the job completely done and he even came back to do some touch-ups after our furniture arrived (the movers banged up a couple of walls). He responded to my long distance requests in a timely manner, gave specific instructions on where to go to look for the paint and stuck to his estimate. The process was seamless and I would hire him in a heartbeat again to paint as well as for other handyman jobs.
