Description of Work: Measured, designed and installed a custom closet organizer with shelves, hangers and doors. Looks great and really did fix a messy old shelf system.

During the design process I asked several times to make sure that we will be able to open the lower vanity doors due to the side by side placement to the tub. During the installation process our contractor determined that we could not open the right door of the vanity to be functional. Upon examination the draw panels were mis-matched grains. In addition there was no toe kick in the shipment order. Upon going to Carolina Cabinets to try and resolve the issues we were told it was a Cash and Carry order and no refunds would be allowed. During the discussion the designer did stated she did not contact our contractor prior to the order dispute our request. When asked about the Toe Kick the owner stated he would give us one but could not refund what was missing because it was a Cash and Carry Order...by that time our private contractor had already made one from materials that were ordered but not needed. Asked if replacements could be sought for the miss-grain draw front panels. The front draw panels were glued together with 2 different color and grains of wood to make a solid panel. We were told by Mr Wanamaker that he saw nothing wrong with them, in his opinion they met the industries minimal standards. Again the order was a Cash and Carry and no refunds would be allowed. We had to order additional vanity doors since the electrical and plumbing were already completed. We contacted the representative from Kabinart ourselves to replace the front draw panels. Thank goodness that we contracted with a skilled craftsman that was able to point out to Mr. Wanamaker the errors in the design process, along with the importance of good customer service. It would not have been difficult for Mr, Wanamaker to call the Kabinart rep. for a replacement and we could have lived with that. We wanted to avoid the Big Box store and go local, wish we never did. Button line, I think Mr. Wanamaker did not want to deal with us because we had an independent contractor, not someone from his organization.
Description of Work: I instructed the designer to contact our contractor prior to ordering the bathroom cabinets. She did not do this, and admitted to this when confronted with the errors in cabinetry .

I gave Mr. Dave Walker a description of how the closet should be. This was my second experience with this company. I had chosen and quot;Lewis Cherryand quot; rather than a basic white install. There was only a 10% difference in price. You have to go over the CAD drawings very carefully and I had to request new drawings 2 times to make sure that they were right. Obviously, the measurements are really important. The cost of a pants rack is very expensive, but I did choose to have the valet bar installed. The installer was on time and the job went very well. I would recommend them again. They also did the clean up very well and the company sent a Thank You note after the job was completed. Excellent service. Mr. Walker also followed up with me to insure the job met my expectations.
Description of Work: Furnished labor and materials for a closet including clothes rods, 5 drawers and two doors in Lewis Cherry (walnut color) with ORB knobs and hangers.
