Terrible. I signed a contract in September 2018 with a lifetime shingle and 10 year labor warranty. I asked if the crew was local. I was told yes. They sent a crew from Honduras and only one looked to be old enough to drive. It took nine months and three crews to complete the job and repair damage to siding, facia boards and window screens. They did not put new flashing around the chimney. Fast forward to today. Roof leaking at chimney and running down rafter to facia board and going into garage. I contacted four times and one email with not one return call. Now awaiting help from the attorney generals office . They see senors as prey and also insurance companies.

Do not trust this roofing company. In 2012 we had our 35-year-old roof replaced (it had never once leaked but had some hail damage). We went with Treadlite despite the fact that their estimate was more than $1000 higher than the other estimates we got because Treadlite was a local company and had a lifetime warranty on their work. We paid extra to have new flashing/skylight kits put around 6 skylights in our sunroom. Within a couple years we noticed leaking around the skylights. Treadlite did not respond to our many, many calls so I posted a bad review of their company and finally David called. A crew came out and David asked if we paid for skylight kits since none had been installed. They did agree to fix the problem but when they came out, David saw (and told us) his crew had broken our glass skylights and they would have to be replaced. He agreed to replace these—we assumed with the same kind of skylights—and to repair the considerable damage to our ceiling. Instead, David put plastic bubbles over the skylight holes and left it at that. (He did say that the original project manager, Lloyd, had been fired for issues just like this. That’s a real comfort to me and my leaking skylights). Since then, the “skylights” have leaked and leaked and leaked to the point where the wooden ceiling has started to rot out. After leaving many messages and even going in person to the shop, Andrew did finally call to see what could be done to make things right. He left a message but then did not call back when he said he would, did not respond to my calls or texts, and did not follow up on “making it right.” It is clear Treadlite does not intend to fix the problem they created. I had three other roofers come out to take a look at the problem—one of them asked me if the new skylights were a DIY job! The price for getting new glass skylights with kits will be about $5500. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and plan to follow up with a lawsuit if we cannot make Treadlite honor their warranty and fix the massive leak/rot/roof/ceiling problem they create. All of this after paying nearly $10,000 for an asphalt roof. If you plan to actually live in your home and expect the company you pay to make good on its work and warranty, this is NOT the company for you. PROS: None CONS: Poor Workmanship Refusal to make good on service/product warranty

Hard review to write. I went with Treadlite (more expensive of my quotes) because I was assured I'd love the final result, and the manager would see the project through to the end. That did not end up being the case. I'm military; they offer a small military discount which pales in comparison to competitors and is cancelled if you pay with CC. Pros: Roof looks good Roof doesn't leak (yet, been a month and a half) Roof was finished in a timely fashion. ^^ All good things. Cons: They didn't clean all the gutters (per the contract); I still have roofing nails coming down into the yard. They broke an awning while moving it out of the way to pull their truck into the backyard. Post payment, they followed up to 'seal' my chimney. This is where it gets hard to evaluate. The manager, who (to his credit) oversaw the roof installation clearly did not oversee the application of the sealant. This resulted in the workers (who applied while I was on vacation) slathering tar all over a nice stone chimney AND over the new roof! It looked terrible. Literally looked like I decided to spray paint part of the chimney black to look like flashing. The solution, which took three weeks to resolve, was to throw some leftover flashing around the chimney. The flashing isn't big enough to both touch the roof AND cover the tar, so the result is pretty awful. I'll end up paying a different roofing company to come out and fix it. Hind sight being 20-20 - if you go with the best offer at least you won't have regret when the promise of 'you'll be totally happy with the result' doesn't come to fruition. I cannot say I would use Treadlite again.

I contacted this company on 22 Sept 2015 to request a quote for a new roof. The office staff was friendly and promised to have the sales rep contact me quickly. The rep called me the same day (very responsive), and I was able to get an appointment scheduled without any issues. Unfortunately, that is where it went downhill. He called me back two days later (Thursday) and told me it looked like rain on the day we had agreed to, so he wanted to reschedule. He then said he would call back on Monday to schedule a new date. That never happened and I did not feel obliged to call again.
Description of Work: Set up and then cancelled our appointment two days later.

Response from Treadlite Roofing
I apologize for no one responding to you. I just spoke to our estimator and he is saying he tried to reach you on Oct. 5th. I am sorry if he did not do so. We have been very busy and backed up after the 12 days of straight rain. Please let us know if there is anything we can still do and once again we are sorry for not contacting you sooner and following up. Thanks

We needed a new roof. Called 3 contractors. Lloyd with Treadlite was the first to call and came by with his info and to measure for an estimate. He was very professional, helpful and explained things in detail. He even was willing to come back out and speak with my husband. He came back as soon as we were ready to sign the contract. A few days later the crew came out as soon as our roof was ready and they worked hard and put it on in a few hours. Looks great and we are very happy with the service and the roof. Recommend them to everyone.

My experience first started with my finding these folks on Angie's List. I was right away impressed by how quickly I was contacted by the representative Heath. Mind you I contacted several other roofers and only one out of the four contacted me back and that one called only after I had set up an appointment with Treadlite. Heath showed up on time...was very through in writing the estimate (gave me a very fair price and yeah I marked it good here but aren't we all looking for a deal) and when I chose them as my roofer he worked hand in hand with my insurance adjuster to make all the pieces come together. So the when the day came to install the roof the crew showed up first thing in the morning and went right to work. They even helped me moved some of the things I didn't consider that would need moving out of the way. Heath showed up as well to oversee things and make sure all was going well...must say I appreciated knowing that he was staying involved in all phrases. I can't say how hard they worked through the day but my thought is they didn't mess around as they had the bulk of the work done the first day. On the second day the crew showed up again bright and early and went right back to work as they did the day prior. I didn't get home until after dark so I couldn't see the roof well but I did walk it the following morning and let me just say I was BLOWN away by how great it looks...these guys know exactly what they are doing. I had a friend come over and she couldn't stop commenting on how great the roof looked as well. Heath and I discussed the color and type of singles (if you can get the architectural type do so they are worth the extra money) and they looked exactly as he showed me. The crew cleaned up all around the house and put everything right back into place...I really appreciated them making that kind of effort. Bottom line here is you do indeed get what you pay for. Can you maybe find another company that can do if for less...maybe (know their prices really are quite competitive)...but I challenge you to find one as knowledgeable and professional in all aspects. First class job Treadlite (special shout out to Heath) you have a customer for life!

Needed to replace my 30+yr old roof. Treadlite was recommended by two coworkers, so I called to get an estimate. Chris the salesman was personable and friendly, and knew his product very well. I was thinking about architectural shingles, and he explained the benefits and options for that choice. He honored my 5% Angie's List coupon with no difficulties. The cost was slightly less than the other roofers I had out for estimates, even before the discount. I did have to pay half of the price up front. The day of the work, the crew showed up on time and got straight to work. They stripped everything off before beginning to lay down the new stuff. The only thing they didn't do that day was to install the soffit vents Chris and I had discussed and (this is the ONLY ding on their service!) the work crew left at 5:30 without saying a word to me. Not "We're done for the day," not "We'll be back tomorrow," nothing. I was left wondering when the rest of it would be completed. Next morning, though, a different crew showed up to install the vents, so everything was okay. I just wish that first crew chief had said something to us before he left. I went with the architectural shingle, and am glad I did. It really makes a difference in appearance for not a whole lot more money. Family coming to visit almost drove past the house because they said they didn't recognize it with the new roof. :-) Several days later Chris came by. He gave me all the paperwork for my 40-year warranty and I gave him a check for the rest of the amount owed. Easy-peasy, it looks BEAUTIFUL, and I'm VERY happy with my new roof!
Description of Work: Completely new roof; new flashing around the fascia boards (?); built a cricket behind the chimney to help the water drain off better; installed a ridge venting system with soffit vents to help circulation and removed the two aluminum turbines for the old system.

Really not very professional.
Description of Work: I received an estimate but did have worked performed at that time. I called back about ten months later for a new estimate, knowing prices go up, and made appointment and no one showed. I called after the weekend and was informed someone was getting married i n the Carribean, but someone would call who was in my area that day. No one called! I called someone else, S&L Roofing who I had no problems with at all.

Chris came out and measured, asked me what color I wanted, and gave me an estimate. He told me about the lifetime leak warranty, and how the installation was to be done. I told him I has some loose soffit and he said they would tighten it up at no extra charge. I gave him a 50% deposit and he said they would order the metal and schedule the install in approximately 2 weeks. Within two weeks they called and installed the metal roof in one day, cleaned up the mess and was gone. I couldn't be happier with the job and professional expertise exhibited by the crew.
Description of Work: Chris was always on time, his estimate was perfect. The company went the extra mile to ensure the metal roof was done right and met my expectations. They did the job in one day and cleaned up the mess and you couldn't even tell anyone was here. They did such a great job, my dad had them put a metal roof on his house as well.

They came in and represented themselves as general contractors. They aren't anything more than handymen. I went downtown and complained about them. And when I did Mr. Farely came to my home and ordered them off of my property. I called my insurance to let them know what was happening. Their license only allowed them to do jobs up to $30,000. They ended up taking me to court because I wouldn't pay them. They were in my house for about 30 days before I got them shut down. They were very unprofessional. The company I had come in and finally finish the job had to redo everything they did. They were awarded a judgement against me for $14,000 to pay for the work that they did plus their lawyer fees of $2,000, which disgusts me.

Contract was signed on 4/12/2011. Contractor started work on 4/21/2011. Contractor did not install ridge vent on roof, and when this was pointed out, the ridge vent was installed on 5/4/2011. SUMMARY (RATING: FAIR OVERALL) During the estimate phase, this contractor was the most professional of the four I interviewed, taking the time to explain how the work would be done in a step by step manner. The owners, Lindsay and Andrew, were respectful. Having only minor experience with roofing, the quality of the work seems fair. At 1/2 month, there was some length of time between contract signature and completion of work. Some of the shingles arrived with minor corner damage, but they were installed anyway. The ridge vent seem sloppily installed compared to other homes in the area. During installation of ridge vent, the contractor seem to have cut into the ridge on only one side of the main ridge, making a irregularly spaced cuts as viewed from the attic. Regarding installation of the shingles, within the attic the new nails went between or cracked many of the slats. I'm not sure if this is relevant to the quality of the job. There were 20 to 30 asphalt/tar streaks on the vinyl siding on all four sides of the home, ostensibly from the old shingles. This took approximately half a day of labor to remove by myself with solvents and a ladder. Using a magnetic rake, I removed 100-200 nails throughout the yard from old roof and about that same amount from the gutters. Roofers left excess material in the yard, including flashing, bundles of shingles, nails, several rolls of underlayment, and two sheets of 1/2" OSB. The contract states that any excess material is the property of the contractor and the contractor has been informed that the materials were left on the premises. I realize that, to some extent, these are expected aspects of any roofing job, but the specifics of the situation are relevant nonetheless. SIDE NOTE: The contractor no longer accepts the 10% Angie's List discount.
Description of Work: Roof replacement on 1400 square foot house, circa 1955, including removal of one layer of shingles and installation of new GAF lifetime shingles, ridge-vent, underlay, flashing, and a cricket (at one chimney). Price did not include installation of new sheathing, but the contract included three 4 x 8' sheets of 1/2" OSB sheathing, if needed. Although the roof was not leaking, it did need replacement within the next several years.
