Ben did an amazing job. He was extremely polite and got the job done quickly. After he discovered that the mounting was not meant to hold a ceiling fan, he explained it to me and told me how he was going to fix the issue. He also cleaned up when he was done. The new ceiling fan looks great and I would definitely use this company again.

The electrician was very professional and accommodating. He knew what to do and did a very good job in doing so. The price for services was actually half the price of the company that I was originally going to go with.

They came access and evaluated the problem, and advised me of what had to be done. they determined that all breakers need to be replaced, box need to be replaced, and that over time other parts inside box had decayed. They accessed that the unit was only getting half the power supply from the breaker box, causing the unit to fail and cause other switches inside my unit to fail. They did a compete replacement of parts all new and made repairs as needed. My heat/ac unit is now working again. They do D*** good work and reasonable.

Steve and James showed up and did an outstanding jobs, both were very professional and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and left the place looking good. I have a couple of other projects I intend to call them on. I have used other companies in the past and had been very unhappy with the service provided, can't say this about Sandy Ridge as they do great work :-)

Overall. I went to their office 2 times, they did not follow up
Description of Work: I physically went into their office 3 weeks prior to needing their service to see if they did the work I needed. I told them I would need them in about 3 weeks. After taking possession of my house I again walked into the office gave them all of my information and contact information. They said they would contact me . I never heard from them and found another electrician from your list to do the job.

Called Sandy Ridge and they came out promply the next day. The window to meet the tech was small so I didn't have to take half a day off. They called with a 30 min courtesy call, came out fixed my problem quickly and professionally. The tech was done and gone in 1/2 hour. The person scheduling the appointments was also friendly and professional. Great job!

When they came back to repair the fan, they didn’t charge me anything. I was really surprised. Every time I have used them they’ve been great. I’ve been out of the business world for a while and prices have gotten away from me. At first I thought their price was a little high but after I checked around I found that their prices weren’t any higher than anyone else’s.
Description of Work: I used Sandy Ridge Electric two or three times in the last year. One time was a return call. I had them install a fan and light in the bedroom. They had me supply the fan but they installed it. About six months later it went bad.

In the month of July, a severe lightning and thunderstorm, brought hail and torrential rains along with gail force type winds to the area where my home is located. Damage was done inside and outside my home. The interior damage was electrical related, and required a professional electician. My insurance company required a valid estimation, to process my claim. My goal was to find a highly qualified company to do the initial estimation and final work. I already knew, and found "Sandy Ridge" again on "Angie's List" , so after being reinforced I called to utilize their professionalism. On 7 August 2012, I contacted "Sandy Ridge Electric" and spoke to a very nice lady . I explained the requirements of my insurance company, and she said,"I wll have to pass this to the manager or owner, and he will contact you to let you know when we can come to your home. I waited patiently for a couple days ,then did a return call, to find whether I had been overlooked or forgotten. The lady, referenced earlier, assured me that she had passed the information and I would be contacted by the person who would handle my estimation. Days went by and, I still did not get a call from anyone at "Sandy Ridge Electric." I called a third time, and spoke to the nice lady again. She said," I have passed the information on and he should be contacting you. I was never contacted by this important person, so I called another next highly rated company on "Angie's List" and they responded as promised. I have had services performed by "Sandy Ridge Electric" in the past and the punctuality and service was surperb. Unfortunately, my current encounter was not even close to what I experienced in the past. Believe it or not, I would have been "OK" if I was told, we cannot help you at this time. I would have simply called another company the same day instead of waiting for such a long time, which delayed my claim. I really did not want to report this information, but it did take place, and I hope their response is better for others in the future. I still believe they are a great professional company but, in my case, something fell through the cracks. I am highly disappointed, because my business did not seem important to a company I held very high on the professional's scale.
Description of Work: The service performed, as an insurance estimation, would have led to the actual repair following the insurance settlement disbursement. The estimation was never performed, so no service was implemented from this company.

These fellas were very professional and knowledgable as they diagnosed one problem after another while giving great advise when it wasn't they couldn't fix. I had a problem with a closet light not working all the time and they suggested a new light after explaining why it doesn't work when cold. These fellas were expedient and enjoyable to talk to. I would definitely recommend them again.

Called Sandy Ridge on Monday, and got a call Tuesday that the electricians would be out between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. Later got a call at 12:00 telling me that they would be at my door at 12:30, and Mike and Steve showed up right on time. Wasn't sure if they were just there to inspect the scope of work for an estimate, but they said that they could do the job right then and there, and gave me the rates (about $75 an hour plus supplies), and estimated that it would take about two hours to complete. Since I've been waiting almost a month to get this work done (issues with another electrician...you'll have to read their review), I told them to get to it. I had most of the needed supplies already, so all they had to provide was various wire, boxes, outlets, and covers. Steve got to work on adding the additional outlet and under-counter LED lighting for my workbench in the garage, while Mike removed the old lights and installed the fluorescent lights. I liked how they split the workload whenever they could to speed things up. Mike finished the fluorescent lights pretty quick, then moved to the sun-room ceiling fan to figure out why it stopped working. When Steve finished his task, he went to help with the diagnosis. They checked the fan itself, the wiring in the switch box, and the breaker in the garage. After some head scratching, they figured it was a combination of two things: using compact fluorescent (non-dimmable) bulbs with a ceiling fan remote with a dimmable feature, plus the circuit was nearing its amperage capacity (flat screen, entertainment system, massage chair, computer, lights, fan, etc.). Short of adding a new switch and an additional line to split the load, there was not much that could be done. They wound up replacing the ceiling fan remote unit, and installed a new breaker switch. Then they both went to the shed, and between the two of them, got that knocked out in about 45 minutes. There was already a power line leading out to the shed, but it hadn't been moved inside. They kept the box outside and made it an outdoor GFCI outlet, then used romex to bring power to the shed. They even calked all gaps to keep things nice and water tight. Now it's got an extra outlet, interior fluorescents, and a motion detecting exterior LED flood. Nice. The ceiling fan diagnosis took longer than expected, so Mike and Steve were there for 3 hours. Asked them about another project (extra light in laundry room), but their work day ends at 3:30. Steve said he could do the job, and that they'll be back. Overall I as pretty happy with their work. They were efficient, clean (no bits of wire or dry-wall dust left behind), and pretty courteous. They didn't mind that I sort'a hung around (had my own projects to finish too), and answered any questions I had. Don't know what the final bill is yet (the bill comes in the mail later) but when I asked if it would be more than $500, Steve said he doubted it would come even close to that. So we'll see! Update: Got the bill and am happy to report their prices are in line with everything else they've done; excellent! I've already come up with some other projects I'd like them to work on. So as to whether I'd recommend these guys, that's a solid YES.

The servicemen asked questions trying to determine what was happening and why I was hearing the popping sounds. Of course there were no such sounds while they were there. But once I showed them the outside exposed wire then the reasons were clear as to why the popping sounds were happening. The wire was getting wet and causing it to arc. I was very relieved to know that all was well with the electrical panel once they disengaged the wire.
Description of Work: I heard popping noises coming from my electrical panel. Servicemen searched the panel, removed wires from fuses, looked for any burned wires or other signs of problems. They didn't find anything that would explain the noises. I also asked them to check an electrical line outside that had been run to a former shed. They found a live wire which was arcing and causing the popping sounds in the electrical panel. The live wire was disengaged from the fuse, and also cut below ground.

Electrician never showed up for the scheduled appointment.
Description of Work: We made an appointment to have a full scope inspection on the wiring within our home. The technician never showed up and never called to say they were running late or not coming. We called them only to be informed they were not coming. Although they did offer to come another time, it was a huge inconvenience; three people took off to be on hand during this inspection and were all left wasting their time. More importantly, had we not called we would have been waiting around for an appoinment that was not going to happen. Not a very professional experience with this company. We decided to use another company.

The experience went fine; the workers arrived on time and took a reasonable amount of time to perform the installation. Very polite and professional.
Description of Work: I needed a cable and outlet installed on an interior wall. This required the workers to crawl around in my limited attic space to drop a line. Workers were very professional, polite and friendly. The company billed me later, even though I offered to pay at the time of service. I would definitely use them again.
