RE DAVIS BUILDERS

We're about halfway through, and so far so good! They started on time and have been diligent about identifying additional work needed along the way (which always happens on a remodel this big). The crew runs about 4-5 individuals, with different levels of skill. They are pretty good about using time wisely, although some of them need more supervision than others. The quality of work is very good and I believe I will have more to say as we get into the trim portion of the job, where details really stand out. We laid out a construction schedule and about halfway through, we're about a week behind. Not bad considering the additional repairs that were needed, but this will add to the total cost of the project. They are helpful in watching costs for me and suggesting alternatives that would be more cost effective. As an Interior Designer I have definite ideas about how the project will look, but it is wise to be open to their experience and preferences. If I could highlight one negative it would be that the entire crew smokes. Having remodeled over a dozen houses, I've never had a crew that smokes. They do not smoke in the house and try to be considerate about smoking on the job site, but it is concerning nevertheless. Just from a health standpoint, it is difficult to watch these young men ruin their health this way! Must be the mother in me talking. Because of this, I'd honestly rate them an "A-" if I could. I would certainly and quickly recommend them to others. They are polite and hard working and I'm happy to have them on the job. Will report again when the job is finished!

They worked from April until June. We can't say that it was done in a timely manner because they were working on a whole lot of houses, which was understandable. They did everything they were supposed to do. We asked them to sign a lien waiver and they did. Everything was pretty professional and on the up-and-up. All the prices were ridiculous but it was market. They were slow at times to respond but they were waiting on stuff to come in. We probably wouldn't use them again because we want to stay away from contractors.
