I had called earlier and priced their services, which were comparable to others in the area (flat fee for level I service including data up to a certain amount; attempt fee if it was really broken for level II service including data; set amount per batch of data beyond what was included). While the prices were competitive (although slightly more than the others I'd called), the person answering the phone just sounded like he knew more about computers -- don't know how to describe that better, sorry. When I arrived, the gentleman suggested trying a new case, rather than just going into the data-mining process. I had previously taken the hard drive over to Best Buy and the Geeks there just said they couldn't do anything with it (although the clerk did suggest going somewhere locally to find a lower-cost option for something that probably wouldn't work). In about 15 minutes total, Monster Computer had my hard drive transferred to another external case, plugged in, checked for data, and I only paid for the case -- not extensive service that others hadn't even suggested. Certainly saved me time and money, and would go back without a doubt.
