Description of Work: Re-installed dining room chandelier after in-house malfunction. McDuffie restored the damaged wiring and the device. This procedure required the electricians to maneuver through attic crawl space to identify the problem, and then make the necessary repair in a timely manner. I was impressed with the efficiency and attitude of the workers. The price was also reasonable for this type of work in this area.

+ -1 moreThe power in my Master Bathroom and 1/2 Bath had gone out. I tried to resolve the problem on my own by resetting the Breaker Panel and outlet in the garage on numerous attempts. The outlet would not reset neither time. At 12:45 pm I located McDuffie Electric on Angie's List and upon calling for a service call and explaining my problem, a very pleasant woman immediately asked for address and telephone number. She explained that she would call me back as soon as she was able to contact Electricians to confirm what time they would be available to come to my home. Within 8 minutes, the kind lady called back and confirmed an appointment at 2pm. To my surprise, Mr Mike and Mr Danny was at my door at 2pm with an extremely warm and professional demeanor. They checked both bathrooms and proceeded to the garage where they found the faulty outlet located next to the Breaker Panel and replaced it. Mr Mike and Mr Danny explained that it was most likely not resetting due to being very sensitive to the extreme cold and/or raining conditions we've been having and was just worn out. The job was performed quickly and professionally. Mr. Mike and Mr Danny was extremely courteous and made sure all my concerns were answered. I would highly recommend Mc Duffie Electric Company to anyone who's looking for trustworthy professionals.
Description of Work: Replaced faulty outlet in garage which was causing power outage in the Master Bathroom and 1/2 Bath.

Additional appointment made for the future installation of ceiling fans and security lighting. The charge for this service was extremely rasonable. I will highly recommend them to family and friends
Description of Work: Resolved an electric current problem that caused lights to flicker and go off & on in separate rooms of the residence. This caused fears of electrical short circuit somewhere in the electric lines in the residence

+ -1 moreHe never performed the work, I don't believe commercial buildings are in his realm. I found it very unprofessional to never notify me that he simply could not find the part. I live in another state and assumed the repair was made. The tenant later called me and complained he still had no lights. I ended up giving the tenant a 500.00 rent credit.
Description of Work: Provider came and looked and said he would order part. I called him two weeks later and he informed me he could not locate the part and would not do the work. Used a different provider and he found the part in one day.

Description of Work: Mike and his son installed 4 new ceiling fans with light fixtures in an older home with really crazy wiring! They were efficient and are very familiar with older houses in our neighborhood. Very trustworthy and reliable and would ask them to work on a anything in my house!

Description of Work: I use McDuffie (Mike) Electric for all on-going electrical needs -- including updating/renovating house room by room. Past services have included rewiring and running new service (to walls, ceilings and floor), adding and removing outlets, install of new lighting, install ceiling fans, change/update switches, add dimmers, and so on. Most recently, McDuffie electric helped me replace and add several canister lights to the outdoor lighting system. While this might sound like a simple job, given that the outdoor lighting scheme was installed originally in 1980, covers considerable area via multiple lines, with four separate control switches (in basement), and operated automatically through two industrial timers -- no job is simple. But as with every challenge presented inside our 1930 home, McDuffie Electric found uniques solutions to any challenges and expertly completed every job, large or small, presented. For this most recent lighting project, Mike was comfortable with me doing a fair amount of the prep work (i.e. ground/grass removal and replacement, removal of defective units and purchase of replacement parts and units directly from manufacturer online) and thereby saving on labor costs. Mike McDuffie always has an assistant working with him. The two assistants I met were closely related to him, giving the business a low-key family-run friendliness. Mike and his assistants are always, with no exceptions, polite, professional and fair.

+ -1 moreThis uncle and nephew team were highly recommended by a trusted interior designer. I have been very pleased with their results and feel comfortable recommending them to others. We recently purchased a large older home and are updating, remodeling, and upgrading throughout. Multiple projects are in the works simultaneously. To say we are "very particular" when it comes to service providers, the quality of workmanship and the materials/products used, would be an understatement. We discussed our expectations beforehand and they were able to meet or exceed such expectations. The two men worked well together and were very knowlegeable. They completed all projects given to them and were able to address any unforeseen obstacles, inevitable in an old home, as they arose. They have been to the house twice and will be back regularly as light fixtures and such arrive. They have effectively communicated and/or coordinated with other professionals working on various projects, as needed. They also will be overseeing and coordinating an extensive outdoor lighting installation. On both occassions they arrived exactly when they said they would and were willing and able to accomplish every task presented to them. All services have been and will be performed at agreed upon hourly rates which, in my opinion, are very fair given this team's quality of work, knowledge and professionalism.
