BEWARE. MAD Movers came recommended by the realtor who had used them before, so apparently they do have some employees who know their jobs. Just none of those I had. Talked with Marshall on the phone - very pleasant and accommodating. This is an hourly mover, promising 3 men and a supervisor to work. Contracted to start at 9:30, moving furniture and boxes (everything was already packed). We planned to do that last minute arranging in the morning before movers arrived. However, the truck pulled up to start an hour early, without warning, with only 2 men and a supervisor. He also spent some time on the phone talking about what sounded like not being assigned jobs and being mad about being passed over. The leader came in with paperwork that took approximately 20 minutes and requirements concerning articles that had to be removed from the house before they could start that we were not made aware of prior to the move. I was charged for all that time. About an hour and a half into the move, I walked out to find ALL the men either under the big tree or lying in the driveway. The leader immediately said they were taking a break - however, I was charged for this time as well. Sometime during the morning, a 4th man did appear - I assume dropped off by the woman parked at the end of my driveway whose arrival stopped ALL the men from working again so as to converse with her - again I'm charged for this time. There were 4 large items in the garage they were moving and 2 sets of chairs- I had to keep telling the leader what he needed to load, until finally I found a piece of paper and wrote it down for him - Once we went over this at the beginning of the move, I would expect it to be his job from that point. The leader moved nothing - His job, apparently, was to stand in the truck and load while he smoked. I was told all employees would be well trained - when I called Marshall I was again told this. However, I finally told Marshall that either he was lying to me, or he had been lied to. This continued throughout the move. All the men continued talking about how hot it was and continued to slow down. It was hot - but it was no cooler for my husband or myself, and we weren't sitting around. All the furniture and boxes were not packed on the truck when the leader announced it was full. They drove to the new house to unload; then, returned to pickup the last items at the old house to finish the job. I found a ceramic cat that had been in the corner at the stairs smashed and left where it was. No mover ever even acknowledged the breakage. They dropped a side by side refrigerator off in the MIDDLE of the garage at the new house, left an antique oak cabinet, quite heavy, in the garage, blocking entry into one car opening, which belonged in the kitchen. They scrapped furniture along walls, leaving big, dark marks, at both houses. I can only assume they slid furniture and/or boxes upstairs on the handrail until it was broken loose, they ran items into the sheetrock 4 places at the old house and 2 at the new house denting it enough so it had to be repaired and repainted, and they dragged a glass cabinet across the HARDWOOD floors in the dining room leaving three scratches, 2 of which are over a foot long. When I called this to the leaders attention, he blew me off; first with and quot;that was already there; you can see the paint.and quot; However, one of the men was there and pointed out that the paint matched the cabinet they had just moved in. Then the leader said, and quot; That's no big deal, just paint. I can get that right up.and quot; The paint shouldn't have been transferred in the first place, obviously, and under the paint the wood has been scratched. That isn't going to go away. The master bedroom has a large heavy bed, and they were contracted to put it back together. I indicated where it belonged. They did put it back together on a 5and quot; angle so it stands crooked in the room and now must be taken down, correctly lined up with the wall, and put together all over again. I called Marshal during the move concerning all this and was told the best he could do was to send the same man (the leader) back out to and quot;repairand quot; the floor damage and look at the other issues. I told Marshall I wanted him to come out and look at the damage that had been done since their ad states that they are bonded so his insurance could have the damage corrected. He refused. The business is about 5 miles from the residence. By the time I had called, and Marshall had contacted them, the leader had become quite surly. He presented me with a bill for ALL the time the crew had been on this job, including, of course, the and quot;breakand quot; and the and quot;visitand quot; from the female car driver - the damage didn't take any extra time. When I questioned the leader about this, he immediately started arguing, and I wrote a check for the amount being demanded rather than deal with him any longer. I refused to have this man enter my residence again, and Marshall refused to come out and inspect the damage done, so absolutely NOTHING was done to compensate my loss concerning damage to either house, and since the house we were moving from was on the market, I had to have the damage they caused there repaired. I've used hourly movers in two states prior to this and have been pleased with the work both times - one of those companies is also in Fayetteville, but since MAD Movers was recommended, I mistakenly listened. While I honestly do not ever plan to move again, I would carry every stick of furniture and every box on a hand dolly before I would have anything further to do with this company. Marshall remained very polite and apologetic in our dealings on the phone; however, since he refused to come make note of all the damages done to both houses, to look at some form of compensation or repair of damages at his expense, or agree to send anyone other than the leader who I had already had the misfortune to deal with and about whom much of my complaint was made, he really isn't any different than the others except for he politeness on the telephone. I see good reviews for this company on Angie's List so I have to assume that the bottom of the barrel was sent to my house - if you decide to use MAD Movers, I would strongly suggest finding out who these particular men were and making sure you don't get them. If you do get damaged, it will be your problem. Never again.
Description of Work: Contracted to move a three bedroom house and garage, 9 - 10ths (.9) of a mile on a Monday. This was a trip including 3 turns through residential areas.

The movers were almost an hour late - supposed to arrive at 0930 but arrived 1020. The truck was large and very noisy (transmission going bad?) but the lead crew guy was very nice and apologized for being late. Noticed only three movers was told there'd be four.
Description of Work: Provided a moving truck and three individuals to move heavy furniture, washer/dryer and other miscelleous already packed containers.

I didn't use the service
Description of Work: The gentleman was polite and returned my call right away. He answered all my questions and tried to fit me in their schedule. My move was an emergency and I hadn't allowed him a lot of time to schedule me. Although I feel he tried. I appreciated his efforts to help me even though in the end, it didn't pan out.

I called several moving company in my area for pricing, MAD Moving, INC, had the most reasonable price. They setup the appointment time for moving my furniture out on June 8 and returning it on June 23, they were punctual and professional. They wrapped my furniture with plastic and blankets before storing it in the pod and broke down and put the beds back together again. They are experts in packing, they were able to get five rooms of furniture (living room, dinning room and 3 bedrooms) and my washer and dryer and stove in one pod. All of MAD's employees were very helpful and considerate of my furniture when packing and unpacking of it. They pointed out to me any damage before packing the furniture, which was appreciated by me. They made sure all appliances they packed and and unpacked was working before leaving. Hats off to Marshall and all the M.A.D.'s crew, WONDERFUL JOB!!!!!

It was overall a good experience. We had some extenuating circumstances with our closing and our move and they really worked with us to come up with the best solution and way to handle the situation. I thought they were good. I didn't have any damage to my property and the crew were very courteous and professional. They had good attitudes. I did my own packing.
Description of Work: They moved us into our new home - a trip of about 15 miles.
