Mac Brother's Painting Services

Quick to come out and give an estimate, but went downhill from there. They said they would arrive Friday and be able to finish the work in one day. Friday came, no painters. When we called them, they said they would have to reschedule for the next day between 8:30-9:00 am because they didn’t finish a prior job. About 9:30am, Saturday I called again and they were on their way. They arrived after 10:00am and we were told they would finish almost everything, but the boss would come back Monday to finish the stairway. Two painters rushed through, not using primer even on the darkest walls where we were told they would and had us buy a 5 gallon bucket of Kilz to do so. When I told the painter they were supposed to use primer, he called his boss and then stopped painting the stairway. At the end of the day, there was way more work left to be done than could be done by one person in one more day, and none of the rooms were finished, so I called and the boss said they would bring more people on Monday. On Monday, the boss arrived with two different painters and said they would finish everything except what they couldn’t reach because they didn’t bring a ladder. The two painters did “finish” everything except the stairway. So they were going to come back on Tuesday to finally finish the job. They were just waiting to hear from us on when our movers would be here the next day. Also on Monday, a random woman (who I assume was the wife of a painter) just waltzed in through our front door without knocking and stood in our dining room talking and following around the painter. On Tuesday, we called them at 8:30 to let them know our movers would not be here. Apparently we were too late and they had already sent painters to another job, but they said they would come on Wednesday. On Wednesday, we called them at 12:30 and were told that they hadn’t finished another job and that they would be here Thursday. On Thursday, the painter and the boss showed up around 9am to finish the hallway. The boss seemed more than eager to hurry up and get the job done. My wife showed them a few areas that needed fixed in the other rooms. They “fixed” the paint in one bedroom, but you can see where they rolled paint and there were a few drip marks. They did not replace any of the outlet or switch plate covers that they had removed in any of the areas. They did not clean up the mess they made in the bathroom they painted (and used to wash out their equipment). Paint was on the floor, toilet, bathtub, sink, cabinet, and light fixture as no drop cloths were used. We noticed numerous places were the previous paint colors were still showing through. We had many places where they got paint on the trim but did not paint over it with white. Employees were respectful and all, but we’re pretty disappointed with the end result. When making the decision to hire someone else to paint our house, I didn’t expect we would have to go back and with additional coats, touch ups, and cleaning. As much as we hate it, we'll be painting ourselves from now on.

Alright, look here... I had the house prepped, outlet covers/light switch covers removed, pictures and drapes down and all the furniture moved a couple feet away from the walls. These fellas showed up and got right to it. 4 guys introduced themselves to my wife, got the grand tour and started hitting all the trim. They went through the whole place and then went back over the big chunks of walls with rollers. They used brushes to trim and used drop cloths where appropriate. They went and did a check on all the walls to look for bare spots after to be sure nothing got missed since the light situation kinda sucked in a few rooms. They caulked the trim where required and made sure we were happy before they called it quits... then, no kidding, they called back a few days later to be sure we were still happy.

Great job contacting us and getting on the work. Sent pictures, was timely and flexible. Only issue - but a big one - I asked to pain the house an off white/cream, basic standand contractor color neutral - paint color used is YELLOW. So yellow (which I mentioned when he sent pictures during the project) which he assured me was not the case - ...that when my real estate agent reviewed it - even she was surprised. He would not repaint but offered to do so if I had issues selling house. I had doubts he would actually complete the task as I really needed it painted because it looks terrible. House still hasn't sold....

Mac Brothers did an outstanding job! Their prices beat the other quotes by a long shot. They we on time, polite, and professional. The crew took pride and care from start to finish. Excellent painters! I had my deck originally painted by them a few years ago and it was time for it to be redone so I called them again because I knew they would do a great job. Very professional and honest family business. I would highly recommend them to anyone that wants a professional paint job (interior or exterior). Its refreshing to know there are still honest businessman out there. The father and brothers always guarantee their work and will return if you aren't satisfied for any reason. Although I have never had to call them back to repeat their work, they are truly perfectionist and want you to be 100% satisfied. I will always call them when I need a painter. No job is too big or too small.

They were punctual. I called them they showed up the same day to give me an estimate and give me and exact date and time they would come in and do the work. They were very polite and very courteous.

First, they thought they may run a little behind, but called to tell me so. It was no problem, because I was still piddling around trying to get myself together. When they arrived, AJ introduced his brother Robert to me as the person working with him. They came in and immediately went to work, laying drop cloths and assessing who would do what. It took them 2 hours to complete the work and I tell you, it looks great! They paid great attention to detail and cleaned up after themselves. I'm rather picky, so when I went around to inspect, I noticed that they stood confidently; and they should have. The work was great! Not a drop of paint anywhere, except on the walls! I admire their professionalism and work ethic. I would certainly use them again, and intend to in the very near future! Oh and by the way, the price was right!!

They were excellent. They were very professional and took care of everything. They came out and had the job done within two and a half hours. They did fabulous work. I would recommend them to everyone.

This experience was a prayer answered from the initial contact using Angie's List to the end. The owner, Mr. Mac, was the epitome of professionalism and excellence. The property is located in NC; I live in MD. 99% of the transactions and business discussions were conducted via phone calls. I solicited several contractor bids, while Mr. Mac was not the lowest bid, his willingness to work with me long distance coupled with his professionalism sealed the deal. I called him on Monday hoping to have the work finished no later than Sunday. Unfortunately, our former property manager had the only key and I was unable to get the key to Mr. Mac. Mr. Mac offered to pick up the key and begin painting the property in order to meet the short suspense. What a blessing!! My husband drove down to NC to see the property, he was extremely pleased with the quality of work and speed of Mr. Mac's crew. They exceeded our expectations and fixed issues (wallpaper and cracks) to ensure the final product was a quality finish--another attribute of professionalism and someone who takes pride in their work. Finally, an unexpected bonus is the 90-day warranty. If you are looking for a professional that you can trust to get the job done right, the first time, then I highly recommend this Army veteran. I will certainly use him again for another property and recommend him to others.

They were prompt and they performed the job, which was touch up work, to my expectations. The only setback for me was that they only accept cash.

They were very competitive price-wide but they did a very mediocre job. They didn't really cover anything when they sanded, or painted, so we had paint everywhere for the next three months. It was on the carpets, on the trims, on the appliances and the hardware, so it was spilled everywhere. They were very fast and not very careful while painting some areas, they didn't do a good job in those areas.

The company was very responsive to our request for services. They completed the estimate within a few hours of the site visit. It took them a little longer than planned, in part because of a paint mismatch (our fault). They completed the house in about 4 days and it looks much better and it was a VERY reasonable price.

They were the 3rd company I got estimate fromand I chose them. Their bid was in the middle. Arranged to return in a few days to do exterior painting which was completed in 4 days. The next week they returned to start interior, but couldn't complete for 1 wk as I couldn't arrange work schedule on such limited time. Unfortunately, they didn't match trim paint despite my repeated reminders. While I did OK what they had with them, it was primarily because I couldn't live with my furniture away from the wall any longer. It doesn't match doors(which I didn't have repainted), but I don't notice it unless it's exceptionally sunny. Overall, was pleased with their work, despite the problem. We're on time and cleaned up after themselves.

You know the old saying, and quot;You get what you pay for!and quot; This applies to Mac's Brothers Painting. Price was pretty good, but that's where the good ends and the bad begins. Painted walls in our home (no ceilings or trim) which was approx.1500 sq ft. Total lack of professionalism. Sloppy, lazy and shady. Shop around to avoid this disaster!!!

Mr. Robert returned my call same day and was available to come out to give me an estimate the day after. Very friendly, professional, and funny gentleman. The crew arrived on time - both of his son's AJ and Robert + 2 additional guys showed up for the painting job. The crew was polite and professional. They were careful not to get paint on wood floors and cleaned up after themselves. There was a small drop of paint on the carpet but they cleaned it up quickly and you can't tell it happened. Mr. Robert came to do a quality check towards the end and guaranteed me if I was not happy, to call him. The next day, I noticed one bathroom needed a second coat of paint (after it had dried) and called Mr. Robert. He had his son AJ return that same day to apply a 2nd coat. The only thing I can say they did not do is replace the plastic covers to the electrical outlets and light switches but that's probably because they wanted to allow it to dry. No big deal but thought reviewers might want to know that?? I purchased my own paint and Mr. Robert made a good judgement on how much I needed to buy without having too much left over.

Their crew was very corteous and professional. They were done in less than 6 hours and the results were fenomenal. I will definetely use them again.

I called Mac Brothers after seeing reviews on Angies List. Before calling Mac Brothers I contacted a painter who quoted the same job at $1900.00. I called Mac Brothers and the next day they were out to give me an estimate. I have an open floor plan downstairs and a loft upstairs. Mac Brothers painted my entire downstairs to include the entryway, living room and kitchen and then the stairwell to the second floor and the common area on my second floor. He had a great crew that was very courtious and professional. I thought this job would take all day but they got it done in 3 HOURS! I plan on using this company when I can decide on my bedroom and bathroom colors. Would have cost $1200 but I had some repairs that needed to be done to the walls, to lead to the final price being $1230.

Mac Brother's Painting Services, painted my entire house (which included ceiling, walls and closets), they were very professional, punctual and responsive to me as their client. Mr. MacGeorge and his sons (AJ and Robert) were helpful during the entire process of painting the interior of my home. Each of their employees listen to my comments and requests and were were willing to do whatever to make sure I was pleased with their work. I was overly impress with their professionalism and response to each of my requests. "AJ" (his son) has the patient of Job, an outstanding personality and very quiet spirit. I would and have recommended the Mac Brother's Painting Services to my family and friends. Way to go Mac Brother's! Awesome Job!

I spoke with Mr. Robert on the phone and he came to do an estimate that same day. He was very polite and courteous and gave me the best quote out of all of the painting companies that I had called. Similar to another reviewer, he gave me an excellent price to paint the entire bathroom if I purchased my own paint and supplies. Juan showed up promptly at the scheduled time and put up 3 layers of paint in about 2 hours. He was very friendly and professional. The paint job was very well done, considering the terrible wall surface that needed to be covered. The only reason I rated the Quality of the paint job a "B" is because there was fresh paint smears on my new bathroom light fixture that they did not clean off, I discovered it after they left so I had to remove it myself with paint remover. But otherwise the rest of the bathroom was spotless and the paint job was great.

AJ from Mac Brother's was fantastic. I might not have been the only one suspicious of the low price tag when I read about them here on Angie's List, but AJ superseded all of my expectations.I called several other paint businesses in the area for a rate comparison. Not only did Mac Brothers come to my site in person for a free estimate, he was the ONLY one who did. AJ was consistently polite and I didn't feel like he was off-put by the small size of the project. In addition, he gave me the option of purchasing the paint and paying only for the labor ($100) or paying for labor and paint ($150). I really appreciated that. I'm docking off slightly on punctuality. Eight o'clock appointment and he showed up at 8:30 but nothing to cry about. About 3/4 of the way through, he said that 1 gallon of paint wouldn't be enough. Given that we'd already agreed that I would buy the paint, I went to Lowe's with the empty paint can and purchased another custom mix paint. One would think that the paint expert at Lowe's would get this straight, right? Turns out they didn't and mixed the right colors with the wrong base paint. Gr.r..Both the service provider and customer could rightfully get upset and frustrated at this point, but AJ took it in great stride and gave the room another coat so that everything would be even. In short, he fixed the mistake that Lowe's made by putting more work in. That's how you know you've got a really honest service provider. I can't say enough about the work ethic and the professionalism that AJ has with his company. Hire him at once, you won't be disappointed.

Before I called Mac Brothers I had contacted 2 other painting companys. The 2 other companys wanted 1500.00 to 2500.00. For this particular job. When I called Mac Brothers painting I spoke to Robert who was courtious and professional with me on the phone. I explained to him that I wanted to paint the interior of a house that I just bought. I told him that I wanted only the walls painted and only specific rooms and a hallway. He explained to me that he would have to look at the house so he scheduled an appointment for the next day. The next day he came over to the house, and did a walk through. He said that the job would cost $900.00 and he could do it on Monday, which was 5 days away. He said that his team could complete the job in one day and it would only take about 8 hours. I told him he got the job and I would see him on Monday. The next day he called and said that he could complete the job on Thursday. This was not a problem and I told him that I would see him on Thursday morning. When the crew pulled up they were on time and looked very professional in their white uniforms. When they started the job,they covered every area that was to be painted and they began. I was very impressed at the speed of their work and their attention to detail. The team worked continuously until lunch. After a 1/2 hour lunch they went right back at it. I am telling you I was going to do this painting myself and it would have taken me two weeks. These guys finished in 6 hours. 2 hours less than the original quote. When I did my inspection there was no paint anywhere other than the walls. The baseboards were still white not a drop on them. The trim was perfect, they did an excellent job with the trim at the celing there was no mistakes to be seen. These guys were great if you are looking for a great paint job at a low price these guys can get it done. Thanks Robert for a tremendous job well done..

They were very professional. They had a color palette; they picked out whatever paint that I wanted. I had to do nothing. I would highly recommend them.

Was a wonderful experience. This was the second time using this company. This first experience was also wonderful AJ was timely, efficient and completely professional. Did a wonderful job making sure everything was finished and done as specified. Finished up in a really short period of time. . They are a great company.
