Description of Work: The company was very responsive and the representatives very knowledgeable and professional. They checked on the progress of the roof both by calling me and by coming to my house to check with the workers. My shrubs, lawn, and driveway were protected while the work was being done and the workers thoroughly cleaned up each night. I was very impressed from start to finish. I have already recommended Highland Roofing to a neighbor and will not hesitate to recommend them whenever I have the opportunity. I was completely satisfied.

Description of Work: They redid the roof. They took off the old shingle sand put on new shingles.

Description of Work: My wife and I purchased a home and our realtor recommended Ian Fegusson and Highland Roofing Company to us. After sending someone out to give us an estimate for repairs we went forward with the bank and purchased our home. When the time came for work to begin we found communication with the company to be quite difficult. It was only done through email despite many voicemails and emails asking them to call us to discuss details of needed repairs. After several emails and still no call we asked that they simply do the work they quoted us and the bank for, but to please call us. Mr. Ferguson responded via email and apologized for wasting out time, explaining that he needed to back out of our job despite committing to doing the work. He claimed he was simply too busy with commercial jobs for our residential one and that we needed a "hands on" roofer to best service us. Our experience with Highland Roofing Company was awful and I could never with a clear conscience recommend such unprofessional business practices to anyone.

+ 0 moreThe company advertises $295 roof tune up services. I contacted Highland for a free estimate; they responded quickly and looked at the roof the next day. The representative contacted me and gave me the first estimate: he said he'd discount the roof tune up to $150 if he was doing it in conjunction with the following additional work: $750 labor + material cost for ridge vent replacement (my request for estimate) and $600 for rubber membrane installation (rep said this work needed to be done because of a design flaw in the roof). During the next hard rain (about a month later), I thoroughly checked the attic in the "design flaw" area for water and couldn't find any. I called Highland back and stated that I would like to do just the roof tune up. The same representative said the cost would be $395. When I asked why it was more than $295 (and much more than the earlier quote of $150) the representative said that the roof is large (it is) and denied that he ever quoted me the $150 price. He did quote that price and I am suspicious that he was overcharging me on another portion of the job in the first quote to make up the difference.
