Each job was sub-contracted to different businesses. We were satisfied with the wood flooring and the appliances; we had issues with every other job completed. -contractor had to return to correct issues with workmanship with kitchen cabinets; that individual was very professional -the grout in the ceramic tile was not sealed as we were promised; contractor did return to follow up but grout had already been soiled. Glen Anderson told us that most people didn't seal the grout. Other reputable installers told us the opposite -numerous pieces of shoe mold on the hardwood floor became detached from the wall because it had been carelessly stapled -the kitchen table initially delivered appeared to be used, with a very scratched and marred surface. It had to be replaced The sink that my wife initially ordered could not be installed because someone had cut the wrong holes in the counter top. Despie the fact that the owner said he would tear out the completed counter top and start over, my wife scoffed at the thought of having her kitchen torn up again. She opted to take a different design of sink to match the holes that were incorrectly cut. -contractor could not properly properly install the faucet in the expensive kitchen sink properly. Glen sent someone to redo the job several times but the person could not get the tension to properly seat the faucet. I called the manufacturer and was told that any person experienced with installing that type of faucet should be able to read the directions and properly install the faucet -The tile that was installed on the kitchen wall behind the sink was not sealed. Contractor had to return to finish the job -The worst part of this whole job was the lack of response from Glen Anderson. We kept getting one pathetic excuse after the other as to why things weren't done to our satisfaction and why it took so long to get someone to retrn to correct defective service. Also, I had questions about several service contracts and the charges listed on them, charges that did not appear on the initial documents. Glen avoided us for the longest time to the point that I contacted a Carpet One regional office out of state. They remarked that he did not respond to their initial attempts to contact him. For lack of a kinder word, we felt that we were lied to in order to excuse the problems that existed. I would never hire Carpet One to do anything at all in my house again.
Description of Work: Replaced carpet throughout entire house with wood floors; linoleum in kitchen was replaced with ceramic tile. removed and installed kitchen cabinets installed granite counter tops in kitchen; tiled kitchen walls installed garbage disposal, kitchen sink, dishwasher, stove & refrigerator, kitchen table and chairs

Description of Work: no services performed by company - due to tight budget, Sybrina was a GOD send - she worked the numbers so that we could get the ceramic tile we wanted. The ony set back was the tile was ordered in August 2012 and only part of it came in - the rest was used by the company for another job - also 2 boxes had more than 50% broken tiles in it, but was replaced by the company with no questions asked. The rest of the tile came in December 2012. Since we are doing all the work ourselves, this was not a great issue, we needed the time b/c we have an older home and ran into some problems before we could even begin to think about laying it down.

Our 9mo old puppy chewed our carpet (carpet, liner, foam padding) all the way down to the wood base underneath in about a 3x1ft area. I found Carpet One and saw they had several good reviews from the same type of work (carpet repair from dog damage), so I was confident in trusting them to do the job. I called and spoke to Mary, and she was very helpful, informative, and friendly. She went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information I needed and answered all of my questions. She gave me an estimate, told me about the job, and since it was later in the afternoon, made an apt. for Dale to come out and look at it for an estimate and more detail of the job the next day. The next day (Wednesday), Dale came on time. Actually a couple minutes early, and he told me what would be done and how the finished job would look. We had an extra piece of the same carpet from installation out in the garage, he went in there and looked at it, and explained that since the rest of our carpet has been down since August, that the brand new piece would look different and would be like night and day but that it would become less noticeable over time. He was also very helpful and friendly. It took him about 5 minutes and he told me Mary would call me back with the exact price and to schedule the repair. She called me very promptly, and we scheduled the apt. for Friday. She explained we'd have to come in and fill out some paperwork and pay (which we did Thursday). Friday (today) Charlie came out to do the job. He was on time, and basically came in the door talking my ear off. Which is a good thing! Every time I've ever had someone come out to our house to do a job, they just wanted to do their work and didn't really talk. So it's awkward to the point where you feel like you have to go into another room and just let them work. Not Charlie! He was awesome, he felt more like an old friend coming to visit than just someone here to do a job. I instantly felt comfortable with him, like I've known him for years. He is friendly and very easy to talk to. We shared a cup of coffee and talked the whole time he worked. But that didn't distract him! He did an outstanding job. I was amazed by how good it looks. As Dale said, it was going to be obvious like night and day where the patch is. So that's what I was expecting. But you can barely tell. You can still tell, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. And Charlie was very confident that in a few months of wear you won't even be able to tell where the patch is or that it was ever repaired. And I believe him, because you can barely tell now. Not only was he friendly, and easy to talk to, but he was very professional and great at his job. I would recommend Charlie to anyone. And if we need another repair done I would request him personally. My experience with this company was outstanding, and I would recommend them to anyone! From their receptionists and customer service, to their handymen and their professionalism, and even to price (which I feel was very fair) they are amazing and get an A+ rating in my book =]

Repairers came out and replaced the carpet/patched up the holes. Did a good job! worked less than 30 minutes. Only issue was the price. 170.00 for two patched carpets. Both Patches were 1 X 1 SQFT or less. but otherwise a great job
Description of Work: repaired 2 spots of carpet that were created by a dog. Measurements were 1X1 SQ FT and the second was 1X.5 SQ FT. Carpet One sent two repairers to replace/patch up the carpet.

I was on a time crunch to get into my recently purchased house before a deployment. The Magnus Anderson treatment had been recommended to me by an acquaintance, and though it cost more than an original floor refinishing job, I was told that it would be well worth the extra cost (i.e. it was dustless). This would have been good, but the house was devoid of furniture at the time, so I probably should have saved myself some money and gone with a regular floor refinishing company. I was told that a week would be adequate time, but based on the other number of jobs they had going on at the same time they were extremely busy and were working night and day. They were still working up until two days before the movers came to move my household goods, and I am still not sure if the floor had adequate time to dry. Upstairs there are whorls in the finish from the sanding pads, there are still paint splatters on the baseboards which would not come out (I need to find a good painter to take care of the trim), the sanding pads cut into some of the baseboards and some of the oak trim they left loose or cut it funny, as they were in a rush. I really didn't have the time to complain, so I just left it as is, but once I looked at some of my neighbors' houses, I saw what a different contractor could do, and the finish was three times as old but looked twice as nice. Not to mention that on my porous knotty pine the protective finish appears to be coming off in spots; maybe that's just normal wear and tear for the flooring (it's been 2+ years), but I've been deployed for about a year of that timeframe and I am alone with no pets. Hm. I'm going to try a paste wax to see if that will restore the original shine to the flooring. Supposedly Magnus Anderson has a 20 year guarantee for their flooring; I may just try to find out what the conditions are and see if I can't get some area touch ups. Wish me luck!
Description of Work: Refinished original hardwood floors, restained different color.

I will use Carpet One again, as it does have one of the best selection of granite and tile in Fayetteville. Their customer service and design assistants (specifically Jamie in my case) were extremely helpful, prompt and courteous. My trouble began in dealing with the scheduling for appointments at my house. In two instances, both in the survey and the installation, the manager overbooked or underestimated the amount of time for the previous job so that they were late in coming to my house. The first instance (for the survey), they had reschedule to come on a Saturday morning. For the installation, a major piece was still not cut prior to their arrival at my house two hours late and three hours prior to guests arriving. This was NOT what I had planned; and the plumbing was still not installed, as the plumber was not going to wait around until 6pm for the granite guys to finish up. He had to come out the next morning to a pile of dirty dishes accumulated by a number of hungry houseguests and complete his portion of the installation. But looking at the granite, it looks great, and there is definitely a quality product at the end of the headache, so if you have the time and enjoy a wide selectoin
Description of Work: Granite Countertop Installation
The sales person at the shop was very good but the install service was horrible. The install guys put in a tile floor but they did not put a backer board. They put cross-T's but it was supposed to be alternating so I had them redo that. They put the tile up on the backsplash wrong. They were supposed to put granite pieces in and they did not put the granite pieces in so I had them take it down and redo that. They did a poor job of doing it. I wouldn't use them again just due to the fact that the guys that came out to do the work were very poor. They were overpriced. There were a couple of other places that would have done the job cheaper. I went with them and they were very high-priced.

They came when they said they would come, did what they said they would do in the manner they said they would do it, finished when they said they would finish, for the fee they said they would charge. Employees were efficient, proficient, courteous, cooperative, prompt, and pleasant.
Description of Work: I went to Carpet One for the service, and paid the down payment to them. They handled all details, and I communicated with them. The actual work was subcontracted to Magnus Anderson. The job was the refinishing of a small area of hardwood floor (foyer, hallway, bathroom): i.e., everything was removed from the work space, to include toilet from bathroom; floor was sanded down to original finish, with dust suctioned from house outside to truck; floor was stained with color I selected; then floor received more than 1 finish coat (can't remember exact number, but it was the number of coats that I had been told to expect); toilet was reinstalled.

Water damage had destroyed old carpet in downstairs area of house. Carpet One was fourth carpet store I physically visited, after much time on-line. Their retail sales manager was the first person to pay personal attention and determine what I wanted to do; consequently, he found carpet to meet my need and desire. Next, he helped me figure out a way to re-carpet the entire house rather than simply replacing the damaged carpet. The owner, and all other personnel that I encountered, as well as the sales manager, showed interest and concern that I find what I wanted. They were responsive to my questions and followed through on every promise. They provided the installation crew I requested. The installation crew was as good as the person who recommended them said they would be. I was pleased enough that I went back to Carpet One when I was ready to have the hardwood refinished. I did have carpet left over, but not more than I wanted to have on hand for possible repairs. Finally, their price seemed fair and competitive in comparison to the other prices that I was quoted.
Description of Work: Replaced carpet in 10 rooms, hallway, and staircase--approximately 3,500 SF of furnished space: moved furniture, removed existing carpet, installed new carpet, replaced furniture, cleaned up, hauled away old carpet. Two months later, refinished small section of hardwood flooring in hall and bathroom: removed commode; sanded away old finish; applied new stain, followed by three coats of finish; put commode back in place. Two weeks after that, replaced metal trim separating carpet from hardwood in three doorways: metal had been scarred during sanding process.

Went in to talk to someone recommended by our Realtor, but used another sales rep. After explaining our requirements, the rep showed us some flooring options, including inexpensive laminates in addition to the pricier exotic stuff. We settled on an solid oak that was on sale (the first stuff he showed us as it turned out), then moved on to carpet. Told him I was interested in the Stainmaster, so that's what he showed mostly. After picking the carpet (again one that was on sale), he tried to encourage the priciest padding, but was quick to show all options. He then went to the property that night to work up an estimate. Once we agreed on the work, we were told the floors would be done in one or two days; when we went to check on progress the first day, found that they were already done. The hardwoods were beautiful, and I'm please to say that there were only a few square feet of overage remaining. The carpet looked very nice as well; there was a pattern so it would have been very easy to see how square their install was. Overall they did a pretty nice job. So far have found a few spots that they'll need to come back and tweak, and a few pulled piles, but we're very satisfied. Only gripe about the carpet was how much overage there was. Don't like paying for rolls of excess carpet piled in the garage. Well, at least we have plenty of "repair" material.
Description of Work: Removed old carpet from entire house, removed laminate from entryway; put in new hardwood floors downstairs living room, entryway, and dining room; put new carpet upstairs.

Everything seemed fine until the installers left a 7.9"x17" section of carpet in my garage. The salesmen over estimated the square footage needed to do the living room by more than 100sq ft than needed. I am having trouble getting the money back for the sales men’s error. The company wanted me to split the erroneous costs 50/50. NO WAY! Not my error - theirs! I am owed over $550 for the difference of what would have been needed to cover the extra square footage.
Description of Work: Had new carpet installed in livingroom.
