Really great job!! My porch had a lot of dry rot in the railings and posts. Rick actually gave me estimates for various alternatives including a lower cost option that I ultimately went with and am very happy with. Got the work completed within 2 days of getting the estimate!! Awesome work.

It went beautifully! All the work was completed on time. I've never seen such a beautiful fence! It's gorgeous and my dogs love their new area! I have to prettiest gates in the neighborhood and I will definitely have him back for my porch and a swing pergola for my daughter!

Hiring contractors in the past has left me with a wary feeling towards the breed; I have been promised things that I didn't get, overcharged, robbed, and actually had to hire other contractors to come in and fix things that the 'top of the line contractor' did. What an amazing experience we had with Rick. He told us in detail what he could do and gave us a price and showed images of other projects. When he gave me the initial estimate I thought it was too good to be true because it was at least $2000 less than what was estimated online. Because he seemed so honest and straight forward we gave him a shot and was not disappointed! He showed up (to the very minute) at the time he told us he would. He started work right away, worked through the day without constant breaks, cleaned up mess and debris daily. He was VERY professional and polite to our neighbors and our dog fell in love with him. When the project was finished we were thrilled with the fence and amazed that he still only charged the price he quoted. We had a lot of others give one price initially, then a lot higher one when the job was done. If you want to hire a workman who does quality work and is true to his word, look no further. He will be our guy when we are ready to have our new deck built. Cape Fear Deck and Fence receives my highest rating and accolades! Well done and thank you Rick Raymes!

I wanted to wait to write this review to see how the fence would hold up against the unpredictable weather in NC. With that being said over the past few weeks we have had tornado winds and rain and I couldn't be happier with the solid construction of our fence. Rick and his crew of 1 were outstanding. They were very pleasant to work with and patient with us as we were unsure exactly what we wanted. He accommodated the few changes we made and made suggestions on how to ensure we got the beat quality fence. Their attention to detail and knowledge of fence construction is unrivaled. We will be having them back to do additional projects. We highly recommend Rick to anyone who is needing a fence and we have had a few bright ask for his number.

I contacted Rick on Friday to see if he would be able to repair my fence and create a solution to keep my dogs from digging out. He responded to my email the same day. I spoke with Rick via the phone and he stated that he can come over the next morning to check out my yard and give an estimate. He came at exactly the time he said he would and looked at my back yard. Even though he doesn't normally do these types of jobs, he stated that he was intrigued by how insistent my dogs were. He said he had some time to come before his next big job and would be able to fit me in. He shared some ideas with me and stated that he would call me back with an estimate for materials and labor. That same night he called me with an estimate and several ideas. We agreed on a solution and he said that he could either come the next day if it didn't rain, or the day after that. He came the next day while I was at work, texted me when he was done and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I let my dogs out on their own and they dug a new hole within two hours and got out. However, I texted Rick and asked him if he'd be able to come back and add more wire to the side fence. He said he could come the next morning. I am beyond grateful! Rick has exceeded my expectations. He was honest, was able to come in record time, alerted me of his time schedule, was able to come up with solutions. Rick is professional and accommodating. i would recommend Rick in a heartbeat.

Rick was very professional and on time for the estimate. He was very helpful and explained all the work that needed to be done and materials needed for the job. In the end my husband decided to do the work himself. Rick was kind enough to offer his advice if my husband had any questions while installing the new gate.

Rick and his crew are fantastic beyond words. The fence is beautiful, the crew was wonderful, the quality of work and the price are unbeatable. They were very accommodating in making our fence, from special orders to the parts to entertaining non-stop questions from our kids and requests for pets from our dog. If you need a fence or other woodwork done please choose these guys, they are great! Truly cannot say enough great things about this company.

Rick came to my house while my husband was deployed and gave me an estimate for building a privacy fence. He walked me through the entire process and made me feel so at ease. He told me what questions to ask for other estimates I was having done. He even went so far as to tell me that he would answer any questions I had throughout the process even if I DIDN'T go with him for the job. My husband and I decided to use Rick for our fence and that was the best decision we ever made. We have a HUGE back yard (around 734' linear), but Rick and his team never complained. They put up the best, most beautiful fence in the entire neighborhood and we are SO happy. We would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone!

We can not say enough great things about what Rick did for our back yard. It is a dream come true for us. When we first talked with Rick he was up front about how full his schedule was. It was well worth the wait. By watching Rick and his guys at work they know exactly what they are doing. We even changed our mind and decided we wanted a gate installed with the fence. Rick was more than happy to oblige. When it was all done Rick told us to wait for the wood to dry to stain and said if there was any questions about stain or if we needed help adjusting our gate to just give him a call. He truely does take pride in his work!

I absolutely loved having Rick & his crew working on my fence. They were heavily booked over the summer, and said they wouldn't be able to come out until the last week in July. They actually made it out and finished the job earlier than I expected. I was pleased by their professionalism, hard work, and general company. I am honestly trying to think of other things they can do at our house because I was so happy with their work.

I couldn't recommend anyone other than Cape Fear Deck and Fence!! They were/are amazing!!! Here are our 10 reasons why we LOVE Cape Fear Deck and Fence: #1) They were VERY responsive to coming out and giving us a quote! I originally contacted him MONTHS before finally deciding to go with him and his crew. When he came out for a quote, he talked to me. When we called to hire, he talked to my fiancé. Even months later and talking to someone different... he remembered EXACTLY who we were. I was very, very impressed and already knew from the day we got our quote that he was the right contractor for us... this just affirmed it. #2) He was extremely honest about his work and his pricing. #3) Even though he said that we could probably find cheaper, we did not! We had several others come out for a quote and he was a couple grand under some of the others!! I even had one guy come out and literally measured my yard by counting his STEPS! (For real, do people do this for an accurate measurement when they're charging people based on the footage??) #4) His quality of work is TOP NOTCH! I have seen other fences in our neighborhood and I am proud to say... ours looks better. Other doors/gates simply look like a shotty job. Ours has great structure to it and is set up to easily be adjusted when things start to settle (let's face it... anyone who tells you it's not going to settle is lying.) Not to mention... others who quoted us, were planning to only use HALF of the amount of cement for each post as what Cape Fear Deck and Fence used! #5) He won't accept payment until the work is fully complete and you have walked through with him and inspected the fence/his work thoroughly. He will explain how everything functions until you feel comfortable in knowing how things work. #6) He is willing to come out and adjust our gates for us after it settles to show us how to adjust it for the future (no charge) #7) He does offer to stain your fence for whatever cost but if you opt out, he is more concerned with you protecting your investment than him making the additional business of staining. He offered for us to call him prior to staining so he could recommend a brand, equipment, and techniques to get the job done! #8) He worked during in December during cruddy weather! He and his team also worked on our fence while we were out of town (with our permission to do so) so that we could return home to a completed fence and not have the burden of them being in our way if we were home! (Seriously, how awesome!!!) #9) He followed up with us and has checked on the fence when he has done other fences in the neighbor (yes, even months later he would still drive by just to make sure everything was okay. It makes sense that yes, he's in the neighborhood so why not.. but I don't believe there are many other contractors out there that would care enough to do this... let alone remember you/your home enough to stop by) and our favorite... #10) He played in the yard with our puppy and even brought him treats (again, with our permission that he could have them)!!!! I couldn't be happier with a contractor who was willing to stop his work and literally run around in the yard with my puppy and play with him a while. ...and when my puppy got excited and wanted to just follow him around, he was cool with it and literally let my dog follow him back while he was working. I would offer to bring him inside but he said that he was fine and he was enjoying having a work pup for the day. My pup literally became excited when he would see Rick and his crew show up! It was awesome. We are seriously so happy that we went with Cape Fear Deck and Fence. Even if we could have gotten it cheaper... I've seen the cheaper work around here in the neighborhood.... no thank you! His personality alone and his business practice is enough to pay a little more anyway! When we decide to tear down our deck and work on a new one... we already know who we are calling.

It was found that during the original installation Mr. King did not poor any concrete at the base of any of the thirteen (13) center support posts. Mr. Raymes who was currently in the middle of a large fence remove and replacement job understood the need to correct the problems created by Affordable Fencing because any further delay would only cause more damage and additional cost to correct. Rick provided me with a timely cost estimate and offered to start the repairs the following day. Rick not only re-set and poured concrete around all thirteen (13) center support posts to strengthen as well as straiten the fence he also replaced damaged pickets and then stained & sealed the fence. The fence now not only looks BETTER than it did when it was first installed but it also stands erect and is straight as an arrow. The fence should now last for many years to come From original contact until the job was complete, Rick's customer service was excellent and will go the extra mile to insure that the job is done correctly and that you are a satisfied customer. I would use Rick again, and cannot recommend enough. BEST of the BEST hands down.

The short: Great team, great attitudes, take pride in their work, go above and beyond to make a customer happy. Will be using them again, and cannot recommend enough. The Long: Rick and his team are simply the best. Rick and his team were 100% professional, courteous, and a pleasure to speak with. When Rick came out to do the measurement and estimates, he didn't rush, even though it was raining at the time, and took the time to explain what he would do, the materials he would use, and why he used those materials and techniques. I was never in the dark on any of aspect of the project. Rick and his team came out and started the job while I was out of town, and as the project was nearing the end, contacted me to let me know and to send a picture of how it looked. I arrived back the last day and was VERY surprised to see how great it looked, and found that Rick and his team went above and beyond to use the dirt they removed digging the post-holes to fill some of the washed out areas of my back yard, including the area where I still need to put gutters. He also took the dirt and made sure there were no gaps under the fence around my back yard. I had a 387'ish Linear foot fence erected by him and it was top notch all the way around. I had to work the last day that Rick and his team showed up, and my wife was nervous to interact with them due to how other people have treated her based on her gender (other contractors, etc), however she said about 30 seconds into speaking with him that she knew they viewed her as a valued customer instead of a woman who didn't know what was going on. During the finishing touches of putting on the last gate of my fence, my daughter had given the team a thank you note, and I have never seen other people as touched and thankful from this small token of gratitude as this team. Again, this team is top notch, worth every cent, and I will definitely continue to choose them in any future projects.

Rick and his team were beyond awesome! I had the flu during the process of the replacing my fence and he worked with me and around my illness completing the job in a timely proficient and timely manner! They also did some light landscaping by removing and uprooting some bushes and trees from my yard that I depsised and that would have later on been a problem for my fence! I will be using him to stain and cure my new fence this spring and I recommend him and his team and services to anyone needing new fencing. He also educated me on how he installed my fence and why and how it will uphold longer than the typical way most fences are installed. I now find myself noticing others fences and comparing them to mine. I so bad want to knock on their doors and hand them Ricks card! Lol he's beyond awesome!

Rick was amazing from the start! He came over for a free estimate in June and scheduled me in for work to be done in September. He warned me about the wait, and put no pressure on me to use his services at all. In fact, he told me what I should look for in other contractors if I decided not to use him. I trusted my instincts, and hired him to build our 11X16 pool deck. Let me tell you he was worth the wait! He and his crew were respectful, and came to my house in great spirits and ready to work. The details that they put into my deck went above and beyond my expectations. His estimate was spot on, and he gave some helpful advice on caring for our deck in the future. I had previously had terrible experiences with two previous contractors, and Rick and his crew gave me hope that there are still good, honest workers left in this industry. If I ever have any more plans for decks, fencing- I would not hesitate to call Cape Fear Deck and Fence. As an Army wife, who is often left alone to make these type of decisions, I could not be more thrilled and at peace about my choice. Thank you Rick and your wonderful team!

Mr. Raymes was punctual for his estimate. His materials quote was spot on. His installation quote was very reasonable. Extremely polite was here when he said he would be. The fence looks amazing.

Had them replace my wood front porch with vinyl porch. NO more painting!! Porch looks great and bright clean white. He replaced the poles and rails. Wife loves the way it looks now. Before had paint peeling and wood starting to rot and rails coming apart. Now it will be so easy to clean. Just power every so often. I think I will even be able to just use a rag and soap to clean off. Crew was very nice and friendly. You can tell they all get along with each other. I had to wait some before they could start the job. They had a list of other jobs ahead of my porch job. But there is a reason they have such a good rating on Angies list. They are well worth the wait. Next year plan on having them to redo my deck.

From original contact until the job was complete, Rick's customer service was excellent. He and his crew, did an excellent job and cleaned up at the end of every day. He always made sure to keep our gate locked for our dogs safety. Even our dogs liked him, which is ALWAYS a good sign. We decided to add an additional 2 feet to the width of our deck and he had no problem adjusting to this. He even finished a day early. He always returned phone calls as quickly as he could. The deck is done and when the time comes, we plan on calling him back to apply the deck's protection. I would highly recommend Rick to all my friends.

I originally contacted the contractor by email through Angie's List late one Friday afternoon. The next day I received a response. I called him and we set an appointment for him to come out for an estimate. Unlike most contractors I've dealt with in the past, this one, Rick, called well in advance of the appointment time to say he was running a little late and asked if that would be ok. He called again to say he was on his way, but it was still pretty close to the original appointment time. In fact, I think he was a bit early. He talked to us about the available products as well as the product he preferred. He gave us a brochure with color swatches so we could decide on the color we wanted to go with, then he was gone. My wife and I took another day to decide on the color we wanted for the deck, then called him to make an appointment. He was able to do it two days later which was much earlier than I had anticipated. He showed up on time ready to work. There was a problem with the color of one of the buckets of product so he went back to the local home improvement store to take care of that. Although he was gone for an extended time he still managed to get job done within the two days he had promised, and he came in under the estimated cost. Thankfully, weather was not a problem. Since Rick also works with wooden and vinyl fences I asked if he could take a look at a problem I had with my 6 ft vinyl gate. He said he'd probably be able to replace the latch, no charge. Sure enough, he put on a new latch that he apparently had laying around. Looks new and now I've got a functional gate again. Responsiveness, promptness, excellent work ethic, and professional describe Rick, the owner/operator of Cape Fear Deck and Fence.
