HVAC TECHS BEWARE!!! I am a skilled HVAC tech who just quit this embarrassment of a business. Had to leave after a short time working there. I was told the old men who work there try to bully new technicians to make them leave. I have no idea why they do this but this is 100% fact. There is no incentive to work there. No wisdom, no leadership, no technology, no innovation, no direction, no mission; it's a sad place to work. Half the service crew is 'recovering' from 'something'. They are all volatile and angry. They were using software that had been obsolete for months and the "manager" just let it keep going like it was normal. There is no support from coworkers and management alike. I would hate for a new hire fresh out of tech school to be subjected to what I had to endure there. They do not invest in their service dept. Their vehicles are sadly outdated and dangerous. The owner should be ashamed.

The technician and quality of work were outstanding. They fixed what was wrong without trying to sell me a new system. The technician was particularly attentive to detail and took the time to check on key installation details before completing the repairs. A small problem occurred in the area of communications, with the scheduler's responsiveness. She did not inform me of a delay in the repair (due to rain), and did not respond to the technician's request to have a second guy come by and check the system. I had also asked to have someone come out and perform routine cleaning and maintenance on the other system, but I never heard back on that. It would appear that the scheduler is a problem area, but the technician was exemplary.

After finding the error, the rest went smothly.lokand iuml;
Description of Work: Re-install the thermostat. I could not find the current to operate the unit. Neither could he. After some time,he finally figured out that there were two heating and A/C units in the house and he was working on the wrong one. After realizing there were two units, he determined what the problem was an corrected it.

They installed the new duct line first with no problems and then they cleaned up the debris from cutting the new hole for the duct. They then installed my heating coils and checked them to see if they did it right and that they were working. While checking the unit they noticed that my thermostat on the wall was loose and the fixed that as well.
Description of Work: They installed a emergency heat coil package and ran a new duct line for my bathroom that was being remodeled.

Arnold sales rep Chris Blanton was the most professional out of the other 2 companies I called. He did not talk down other companies and did not trying to push the sale. My dad was an engineer and taught me a lot about A/C. So I sat back and just listen to what he had to say. Did not take me long to know that he knew what he was talking about. Plus and a big plus he was proud of his job and Trane. I could tell he wanted me to be happy more then he wanted the sale. When he went to inspect my house he notice right off the bat I had a pocket of hot air in my cathedral ceiling. The other company I called one did not notice and the other notice but his prices I would have been better off buying a new house. It’s very important to know about the pocket of hot air and cathedral ceiling. Because you need to include that space when you do the math for the tonnage you will need. You need to make sure you put a vent up there to help get rid of the pocket of hot air. Which in both cases Chris knew an added it to total area and price a new vent for that area. This should have been done by the builders. My dad notice that when I first bought the house new. The one company that did not notice the pocket of hot air or did not count space in the cathedral ceiling actual wanted to lower the total tonnage of what I had. The reason I called in the first place was because my A/C was not cooling my house down proper. My A/C would run all day long but still would not be cooled down right. And when I walked up the stairs I could feel the pocket of hot air. Now it runs some and then turns off (saving money). That’s the way an A/C should work if math is done right. And the house is cool. The installation went smoothly with the two installers being polite and obviously well trained in HVAC installation. They took the time to stop their work and diligently answer any questions I had. They had to work under the house and in the ceiling. It took them two days to do the job. This was what Chris had told me it would take. My hats off to them they worked hard both days. I never seen them even take a break. I would ask them do they want to take a break and sit in the house to cool off. They would always say they were fine and use to the heat. It was in the low 90’s those days so I know it had to hot up in the ceiling. I offer plenty of drinks but the mostly turn me down and keep on working. They were very hard workers and very professional. I hope Arnold knows they have some very good workers and treat them right. It’s hard to find people who will work that hard all day without a supervisor standing over them to make sure they stay busy. This tells me the installers were responsible and professional and would take pride in their work. Before I had new units installed I used another company to maintain my systems. I will now only work with Arnold. I should have called them a long time ago. My mother about 3 yrs. ago also had Chris sell her a Trane. She has not had any trouble since install. Her bill also went down plus her house is cool now too. Their nothing worst then paying big electric bill but still be hot in your house. The temp has drop so will be hard for me to see my savings. But I do know my old system were 10 and 8 sheer so with both new system 18 sheer it should be a big savings. I know I feel a big different in my house as far as being cool. Before I could only get my house down to 77 with system running all day long never shutting off. After the install the first day to test it out I set it to 73. It did not take long to get down to 73. Plus the system actual shut off too. Never seen that with old system set to 77. I was cold I had to turn it back up I could not take the 73. It’s nice to know system able to do it if I need it. It’s great to have that power when you have a party. Now on 4 July people can come inside to get cooled off. Plus I notice even on 90 and above days new system does not run all day long. It actual turns off some now saving me money. If you need a new system or I would even say work done to your system call Arnold’s. You can always call other to see what each one says like I did. But if you know anything about A/C you will be picking Arnold’s.
Description of Work: Installed two new 2 tons 18 Seer Trane Heat pumps, along with a variable speed Airhandlers. Added one duct and vent. Removed and disposed of old system.

Although not the lowest priced bid (out of 5) that I recieved, Arnold sales rep Chris Blanton was the most professional in regards to not down talking other companies and not trying to push the sale. Throughout the process he was courteous and responsive to any questions and concerns I had, and was very attentive in returning calls and patiently listened to my questions before responding (without cutting me off or interrupting me). The installation went smoothly with the two installers being polite and obviously well trained in HVAC installation. They too took the time to stop their work and dillegently answer any questions I had. I was surprised at their appearance which while not and quot;trashyand quot; per se, was somewhat unkempt without the wearing of company uniforms and an overall demeanor of a teenager persona. Looks aside, they worked very hard in some stifling heat and for long hours over two days to complete the job. I did have to call the company the very next day after installation was complete regarding a leak from the attic through the roof of a bedroom, but the same workmen were back out early the very next day to fix the problem and did offer to fix the water stain on the bedroom ceiling. My only complaint, other then their appearance which was minor at best, was the disregard they seemed to have for construction debris as related to the air handler in the attic. They left quite a bit of used building material, wrappings, and other assorted garbage just haphazardly thrown about. Outside where the heatpump was placed was cleaned each day before they departed, however inside in the attic was left a somewhat mess. My second complaint is the cover for the inside portion of the split system was broken during installation. Not very noticeable and does not impact the performance of the unit however it falls off on one side whenever the system vibrates. When Chris came to collect the payment for the services performed I pointed this problem out to him, which he acknowledged and promised to have replaced. That was two months ago and I have not heard from him or anyone else at Arnolds since. It's a minor situation however for nearly $13,000 I do not feel that I should have to chase them down or and quot;remindand quot; them of their commitment to repair damage that they themselves caused. My energy savings are lower but not to the degree that I had initially hoped. We are more comfortable though and happy we had the work performed. The simple complaints aside I was satisfied with Arnolds and feel I paid a fair price for the new system and installation.
Description of Work: Installed a new 15 Seer Trane Heatpump, along with a variable speed Airhandler and a 1.5 ton mini-split system. Removed and disposed of old system.

My air conditioner didn't seem to be working, so I called Arnold Service Co because they originally installed the unit when the house was built. They came out the next day to see what needed to be done; they had to order the part so the unit would not be fixed for at least a week or until the part came in. Not very long after the technician left, Arnold Service Co called and left a voicemail stating the price of the repair and that they had the part in stock and could fix my unit as early as the next day. I scheduled a service call for later on in the week. The technician fixed the unit and I have not had any problems since. I would definitely recommend them once again. I spent a total of $285. The first service call was the diagnostic. My first bill was $105.00 it consisted of the diagnostic $75 and travel charge $40. The actual repair bill was $180.00, the part was still under warranty so I did not incur charges for the part.
Description of Work: Arnold Service Co. had to replace the expansion valve in my air unit. The technician pumped down the unit, removed the old valve and installed the new one. He checked for leaks and vacuumed and charged the unit. He then checked the unit for proper operation.

My heat pump wasn't cooling so I called a company other than Arnold's - the other company representative came out and pronounced the heat pump uneconomical to repair then pulled out brochures and tried to talk me into a $16000.00 unit. No kidding. My husband was deployed at the time and apparently that translated into "vulnerable woman with money and no male supervision". Immediately after he left I called Arnold's. The next day their technician came out, told me that there was a leak and repaired it then refilled the freon. I asked him if the unit needed to be replaced and he very honestly told me that it was 20 years old - it could run another ten years or die the next day, but that it was a good unit and worth repairing. When I asked him about my house needing the large $16000.00 unit he explained that the way my house is laid out that would actually be counterproductive and I needed a smaller, less expensive unit. Pretty impressive!!! I've had Arnold's service it every year since and it's going on 4 years with no issues since then. When I do replace the unit I will definitely use Arnold's to do so. Their technicians' straightforward answers, promptness and courtesy continue to impress me.
