Dan was amazing. We did this job from across the country. I live in Idaho and needed to get my son's house painted. I was nervous about hiring someone so far away. After talking with Dan I really felt good about trusting him. He always kept me in the loop as far as how this project was going. He sent photos so I would be able to see what was happening. He transformed an ugly house into a beautiful home. And this was done for a good price. Thank you All America Paint and Daniel Thomsen

The owner, Dan and Andrew were professional and courteous. The painting was completed sooner than expected and I was pleased with the outcome. Andrew came back on a Sunday to power wash my deck and I was surprised with the outcome. I can actually see the original color of the wood. Looks great! I would highly recommend All American Painting!

Mr. Thomsen and his crew did a fantastic job. He came to my house for an estimate on the same day that I called. That evening, he emailed me a detailed quote. Two weeks later, they came to do the job. They were here 3 days. On time every day. And were extremely clean, efficient, polite and professional the entire time. They covered up or moved my furniture and other items as needed, and returned the furniture to its original place when done. Nothing was damaged. The biggest thing for me is always safety. As a woman home alone when contractors come in, I will only work with someone I feel safe around. I felt very safe the entire time these gentlemen were working in my house. The members of the crew have been working together for years. These are not day laborers who the owner knows nothing about. Would definitely hire again and would recommend to anyone who needs a painter.

Another amazing paint job! I love working with Dan and his crew. They are all so polite and professional. We had painting done to help spruce up the house for my daughters wedding. As always, All American Painting did a fabulous job! The walls are beautiful and the new trim color makes everything pop. This is the only company I will ever hire for painting! They also did a magnificent job on our front columns and high porch ceilings. Simply great guys to work with!!

Went great! Good communication throughout process and job completed in a timely manner. We also hired this company in 2018 to paint the entire downstairs and was very satisfied with the results. So, we hired them twice, both times the job was completed and the process was outstanding. We would defiantly hired them again.

An appointment was scheduled for Saturday 6/29/19 for an estimate, I was told via text message that they drove by my house and it was too big. A very unprofessional company avoid them!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I called Dan in a panic due to quick move in and he was finished with the entire house in 2 days! My walls look phenomenal and he repaired our kitchen walls which look amazing as well. Our ceiling crack has been repaired and cosmetically accepted now. We loved All American Painting. Daniel was able to come over and give us a quote immediately. A couple months later when we were finally ready to have our house painted, they worked with our crazy schedule and deadlines to get us in and complete before holidays... even as we continued to add more rooms/trim to the list. We have two dogs and they were very understanding when it came to them and everyone was so sweet with them. Daniel and his crew would check in with us at the beginning of every day to tell us the daily plan and then do a walk through with us at the end of the day to show us what they had completed and ask us if we had any concerns. They were always so polite and professional. It was easy to see they wanted to make sure we were happy with the final project. They fixed any and all bad drywall work before even painting. After completing the job they made sure we completely happy with everything before leaving and said they would always come back and fix anything we had found or needed touched up. Such a pleasure to work with.

Nightmare! They started working Tuesday February 5th, 2019. I met them around 9:30 that morning to walk them through the house. Dan explained to me that he was leaving and his son, Nick and his foreman, Andrew there to start painting that day. He asked that I pay him 1/3 down so I wrote him a check and went to work. When I got home they had already left for the day and as I was walking around to look at what had been done I notice tan paint on my wood stained cabinets and tan paint on my white ceiling as well as pieces of the roller sponge that had come off in the paint and left on the wall to dry. I should have fired them then!! I called Dan and sent him pictures at which time he told me not to worry that everything could be fixed and that he would be there in the morning to look at everything. Wednesday February 6th, 2019: I told Dan I had left my key since I had to go to work and they could let themselves in when they got there. Later that day he calls to tell me that they were able to get the paint off the cabinet and that he was going to color match the ceiling and get that fixed. My husband and I found some Sherwin Williams Creamy flat paint in the attic from the previous owners so I told him that may be the color of the ceiling since our trim was Sherwin Williams Creamy in high gloss. He said ok, that would be our back up if the color match does not work. (neither of which ended up working) Fast forward to Friday when he calls me to tell me they are finished. At that time I asked him how the ceiling looks and he replied, “not good”. When my husband and I got there to pay him our balance he told us the bedroom was still wet and that if we saw any issues to let him know. He said he would be back Wednesday February 13th 2019 to paint the entire ceiling since neither the color match or the creamy paint blended with the ceiling. At that time I said well I will pay you our balance Wed then when everything is finished. Dan then said, “well I wanted you to pay me today, you can withhold $200 if you would like since that’s the going rate if you were to have anyone else fix your ceiling.” I paid him the balance minus $200. Big mistake!! In my mind, I figured it would cost more than $200 to fix my ceiling but trying to keep everything civil and on good terms I wrote him a check for the balance minus $200. Saturday morning February 9th, I sent Dan several pictures of issues that I had with the paint. He did not respond. Sunday February 10th, 2019 I called Dan, he did not answer so I left him a voice mail. He did not call back. Monday morning on the 11th, I called Dan and he finally answered and explained to me that it was the weekend and he was trying to forget about work and he was not trying to avoid me. Altough avoid me was exactly what he did. He then said he could tell I was not happy and that he’s not happy if his customers aren’t and that he would have everything fixed. I told him that I was concerned about him painting my ceiling because I noticed sloppy work and paint in places where paint shouldn’t be and spots on the walls that were missed. (which I do not understand because my quote was for 2 coats of paint and I’m not sure how that got done unless they missed the same spots twice) He then tells me, since you are not pleased how about this you keep the $200 and I’ll get everything fixed. Tuesday the 12th I called him to confirm that he was still coming Wednesday and he tells me he is sending Andrew and he will be there between 9-10:00. He said,”I wish I could come myself but its bidding day for me.” (I was also not pleased that Dan had my job that wasn’t even finished, yet paid for, and he was more concerned about bidding other jobs than coming to look at the work that was poorly done on mine). Wednesday the 13th I took off of work to meet Andrew at my house. He arrived around 10:00 and I said so you are painting the ceiling today and touching up the walls. Andrew said, I wasn’t aware of anything about the ceiling. I said ummmm, ok, let me call Dan. I called Dan and he told me, we agreed that you keep the $200 and we forget about the ceiling. I said, “no sir, that is not at all what we agreed on”. I said, “I guarantee you it will cost me more than $200 to fix my ceiling”. We went back and forth and he told me to get a quote and send it to him. I did, another painter who I had paint the outside of my house last year quoted me $600 to paint my ceiling. (My kitchen and living room are all open with no separation, so for it to blend all of it has to be painted). I sent that quote to Dan and he told me that’s ridiculous. He said the only thing he would do is paint my ceiling and I pay him $200 (when I’ve already paid him for work in my house that is still not finished) or that I could have my painter color match it and touch it up. Dan had already tried to color match it and that did not work so I don’t even know why he suggested that. And I’m not paying him to do anything else in my house because I certainly don’t want my ceiling looking like the rest of my walls. I told him that I think the fair thing to do is for him to reimburse me for what it will cost to fix my ceiling and he refuses to do that. After I got off the phone with Dan, I walked Andrew around the house to show him the work. Andrew even agreed with me that it did not look good. He told me that they have been having issues with Dan’s son Nick and that lately they have had several complaints about his work. Andrew touched up as much as he could, and left that day around 3:00. The paint bucket he left is close to empty so he couldn’t have done much more with what he had. Thursday February 14, 2019 I messaged Dan and told him that my walls look better but there are still areas in my bathroom and bedroom that need to be painted. I told him that at this point Im just ready to move on and that we need to come to an agreement on the fixing the ceiling. He replied that all he was willing to do was for me to give him $200 and he would paint the ceiling. Which his son messed up to begin with so why should I have to pay for their mistake? So here I am with ceiling that has a discolored patch the size of a watermelon on it and out $1500.00 for a paint job that was left unfinished. Not only was my home painted with poor quality of work, the professionalism is nonexistent as well. They left a cigarette propped up on my shutters on my front porch, pee in and on my toilet and did not even flush or clean it up, ring marks on my brand new bedroom dresser from setting drinks on it, and helped themselves to my ac by turning it down to 70 and didn’t even turn it back up when they left for the day. . Also none of the hardware in my bathroom was taken down. They just painted around my mirror and towel racks and lights. Beyond frustrated with this entire experience, I will NEVER hire them again!

We hired All American Painting to paint our tall foyer, upstairs hallway, and bathroom. They did an amazing job. We had a really ugly dark brown on our walls and they were able to change the color to a light khaki/sand color with 2 coats of paint! They straightened very messy lines from previous painters and made the house almost look brand new. Our bathroom had texture on the walls and they were able to sand it almost completely off and repaint! It looks fantastic! Dan and his crew were on time, honest, and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional. They will be the only painters I would hire in this area!

I can't say enough good things about Dan and his crew. He responded right away when I requested a quote, and was very detailed in his quote. He and his crew were very polite and punctual, and he really worked with me regarding which rooms to paint first, second, etc. to minimalize the disruption to our family. Dan didn't blink an eye when I decided I didn't like a couple of the colors I'd picked (after they'd already painted the walls, bless them) and didn't charge me an arm and leg for the extra paint and labor. They even showed up 2 days after Hurricane Florence to finish the job after it was interrupted by the storm! Their work was exceptional....it would have never looked this good if we'd tried to do the painting ourselves.

Slap me naked and hide my clothes! Super professional job. Not only would I hire them again but I will recommend them to anyone I know who needs paint work done, and we are sure to call them when it's time to redecorate. I even like their radio station choice. All American was the lowest quote that I received and did the highest quality work that I have seen. These gentlemen obviously take pride in their work and it is no wonder that they have so many A ratings.

AMAZING! Dan Thomsen and his crew of Andrew and Nick did a phenomenal painting job. Everyone was punctual, polite, and hard working. Each afternoon they cleaned up so completely it was like they hadn't even been there! They had a lot of painting to do and all of it looked beautiful when they were finished. The trim, including dozens of stair spindles, glistened and the color they applied was smooth and gorgeous. I have seldom worked with a more professional company and I can't wait to hire them again to redo other rooms in the house! I give Dan, Nick, and Andrew my highest recommendation!

After checking out Angie's List, I contacted Dan and set an appointment for him to come out and give me a quote. Good communications before, during, and after he came out to give me an estimate; he returns calls and shows up as scheduled and if he's running late, he'll call and let you know that as well. Very good experience with Dan and the only reason that I did not use his company to do the job is that he turned me down as the job was too big. I found the man's candor refreshing and do intend to use his company in the future on the interior of our home.

All American Painting did a great a job in my house. Their response time was excellent, showed up on time on all days and cleaned up after themselves. All of my questions and any concerns I had were answered without hesitation. Very professional company that I would call again.

It was a beautiful job. This was the second job Dan and his three man crew did for me. The first was the interior about 4 yrs. ago. He did such a good job the first time i decided to have him do the outside. He showed up on time for the free estimate, was well within the price range I expected and started the job on time. When i asked him to help me with trim selection, after I made a false start myself, he was johnny on the spot. He pulled a small chip from the trim and matched it perfectly. I especially like the fact he just has the one crew which he supervises himself. If he had to step away from the job for any reason when he got back he addressed any concerns i had with edging or caulking etc. I might add that before he began the two coat painting process (spray on brush out) One of his crew power washed the house with a light bleach app and a fresh water rinse. His crew was polite, trustworthy, on time and efficient. The whole job was done in 4 days. As i read my review I say there must have been something that didn't go right but then I go nope because Dan watched every detail and corrected any thing he or I didn't like. For the two jobs he did for me 4 yrs. apart I couldn't be more satisfied. I'll Hire All American Painting again. Thanks ..
