Description of Work: A contract was signed with Carolina renovations on July 7 2011, with a down payment of 4,300 dollars applied to a total cost of 8,300. The contract was for the installation of a metal roof installed on my home and the repair of the roof covering the deck which was also being covered in metal. Work begin on replacing the deck roof on July 11, 2011. From the 11th of July until the 19th of July very little work was done even after multiple attempts to get the contractor to finish portions of the work that had been promised. Was informed on July 27, 2011 that no further work would be performed on my house until a contract dispute with another customer was resolved, which was totally unrelated to my contract. Contractor was taken to court for a claim against my deposit, in which the contractor lied about the amount of money spent on material and cost of work resulting in my loss of $3,600.00. Furthermore as a result of this experience I, have learned that this contractor under another name had previously been reported to the better business bureau, resulting in a F rating. After consulting with several roofing contractors, and the metal manufacturer, it has been determined that the contractor was not installing metal roof properly according to suggested manufacturer guide lines. There are at least two other customers that have there metal roofs installed by this roofing contractor that are displeased with the work performed.
