The plumber (Darrin) simply installed a new faucet fixture for my new bath tub. This is a very easy and straight forward job. Upon arrival the plumber stated it shouldn't take more than 2 hours to complete. At $100 per hour, 2 hours equals $200 dollars. But my bill was $375. The moral of the story is never let a plumber charge you by the hour, because they will always take longer than they anticipate. Instead, always get an estimate on the job rather than paying them by the hour. He did a good job. He was a really nice guy. He just took about twice the amount of time he said he would. And his plumber helper smelled like she just got finished with a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Every time I have called JD Plumbing I have been impressed with the little things that they do such as installing extra ball valves and replacing wiring that wasn't up to code, etc. They always go the extra mile to ensure that things are done correctly.
Description of Work: I asked Donny to move a washer hookup for me and he was able to work around my schedule for new washer and dryer delivery around a holiday and the work was top notch. I told him I was going to replace the drywall in the area he was working and so he didn't need to worry about the look of it, but you can barely tell he had to cut a large section of the wall out. They even used screws to attach the wall piece back so I could use it for access. He also quickly and correctly identified an issue with my well pump system related to pressure problems and replaced my pressure tank, pressure switch and ran a new line to the water heater because the galvanized pipe in the concrete slab would eventually clog and could have been causing some pressure issues. I have also had him change out a faucet in a bathtub that would leak.

The price was reasonable. The service was top notch. They could have charged me extra for an emergency call, which they didn't do. The workers that come in are clean and responsive. They aren't looking to do something that doesn't need to be done. They even ask you if there is something else that needs to be done while they are there.
Description of Work: They came to fix my water heater. It was a small job which took about 20 minutes.

The well water filter under the house is in a crawl space and was getting very inconvenient to change with worn out knees - especially in wet or cold weather. We put it off long enough and called Don. He was recommended to us by a friend and was also on Angies list with great ratings and comments. He doesn't really advertise - gets most of his business by word of mouth. Don and his team set up a new water filter in an interior upstairs water heater closet allowing us to change it much more easily. The setup is great. We are thrilled and I wish we had done the whole thing sooner. He gave us instructions shutting the water off, relieving the pressure before we change the filter, the types of filters to use, lubricant for the o-ring, etc. He even gave us instructions on how to change out the water filter unit itself if it ever fails. We now know how to shut down the hot water heater without shutting down the cold water to the rest of the house if we ever need to. However, I believe I will be contacting Don if I need the water filter unit replaced in the future! Don and friends made the whole process painless. We also had a leak in our kitchen disposal. They quickly replaced a worn out kitchen disposal with a new one. The old one was a cheaper model and you get what you pay for. The new one works great and I said goodby to the old leaky one. Additionally, they found that the water heater was missing the pan and emergency drain (in case of failure.) The guys quickly put a pan under the old hot water heater with a drain to outside so if the water heater goes bye-bye, my wood floors are safe and it won't drain in the crawl space either. They guys were wonderful - such super nice people. I asked one of the boys to tell me how hard or easy it would be to put a water hose hookup in the front of the house before the water filter. In a surprise to me, he found a water hose hookup already there, hidden under the steps that I didn't know even existed. They were punctual and worked hard. Yay! I have a plumber now and for the future. While they were here. I asked Don about a few other things that we had questions on. He is now looking into a water circulator for the upstairs bathroom for us. The hot water takes too long to get up to the sink and I feel like I am wasting too much water (which I have already paid to hear!) He explained how circulators work and how it would be installed. He also explained how to safely handle the water supply if we go away. He gave us so much good, common sense advice about plumbing in general and pipes and water pressure tanks that I feel like I got an education in plumbing. We are new to this area and have never had a well before (we don't even know anyone who has a well!) so we had about a million questions. Don and friends answered them all. I'm a happy camper.

What stood out was that they are very confident, very prompt, and very professional. They knew exactly what they were doing, they were able to diagnose a fairly difficult problem pretty quickly, and they cooperated, the guy who had botched the job came in and did some of the work with them they were able to work with him and then just saying this is the part I have confidence in and we're going to do this. I thought they handle the job very well.
Description of Work: They came to fix a job that had been botched by a contractor.

THey have done a lot of work over the years and always have been professional and top quality. Last week I needed my washer to run cold water and Don diagnosed the problem over the phone and instead of coming out on a visit he told me I needed an appliance man and told me what to tell him. I found a GREAT appliance man on ANgies list and told him what Don said and he FIXED my washer. Don could have come out on a service call and charged me to tell me what he told me over the phone. THey are honorable good workers.
Description of Work: This plumbing company is so personal and responsive to our needs no matter how busy they are. We have had camp kids use our pool for a few years and other odd situations that can sometimes require immediate attention and they remember from year to year and come even on a rainy Sunday afternoon to drill pipes out in the back yard. Don is smart and accomplished and I wouldnt trust anyone else.

Called on a Saturday. They came over as soon as they finished their current job. They also instructed me on how to try to stop the leak, which worked. They brought total of 3 people. Quickly got to work, replaced the broken pipe and made a few recommended upgrades, including replacing a stop valve that did not work (discovered as part of the repair process). Agreed to check the hot water heater out (even though it was not part of the original call). As I thought, the thermostat and element were not working. They replaced both and discovered that the prior owner had installed the wiring improperly. Quickly replaced that as well. Replaced everything the way it was and left the place clean and as neat as a basement can be. Also offered some advice for future installations to reduce water and energy use. Quickly figured bill and left. Total time was 1 1/2 hours at $150, plus $67 in parts.

He had to rip the decking of our steps and dig down in the concrete four or five feet to fix the leak. He had people out her every day for 5 days. He goes the extra mile he even rebuilt our deck for us.
Description of Work: He repaired a leak caused by the main waterline to the house which is right under the front entrance.
