The entire process went very well. Maria Horton, the owner of the franchise, was very pleasant to deal with. She was very accommodating in scheduling the appointment and arrived on time that Wednesday morning. As we walked through the house, I pointed out the areas in the house where I would like to bring more light. Maria made suggestions on the number, size and placement of Solatubes in each situation. She also looked in the attic to estimate the length of tubing that would be required. Since my time in the Asheville area was very limited, she was able to arrange installation on that Friday. Nick, the installer, arrived around the scheduled time of 9:00 AM and worked all day long on getting the five Solatubes installed; due to the steep pitch of the roof, additional lengths of tubing had to be installed, which raised the final price about $200 above the estimate. Nick completed the job around 7:30 PM that evening. I have to say the Solatubes look attractive and have done wonders to brighten up the rooms where they were installed, particularly the living room. The fact that they come with a warranty is comforting as well. The original diffuser used on the Solatube in the kitchen created a very bright, harsh light, so I contacted Maria to have another type of diffuser placed on the Solatube. She had Nick return at a later date to install a different diffuser, which created a more pleasing light in the kitchen. I'm extremely pleased with the whole experience. I feel that Maria is very concerned that her customer is satisfied, and she will do what she can to make sure that happens.

Maria returned my call and we made an appointment for her to give us an estimate. She even came on Memorial Day since that was a convenient time for us. I asked for insurance documents and she provided them via email. We scheduled the work for June 4th with her installer Nick. Nick arrived on time, 11 AM, (although for such a big job, he probably should have started earlier) and spent time with us discussing the exact location of the Solatubes in order to maximize light to the surrounding areas. Then he set off on installing them. It was a big job especially since we have a metal roof and it took him the entire day until almost 5:30 PM. He was knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and cleaned up all mess. He even made sure to lay down old sheets under where he was working in order to minimize mess. My only complaint, although small, is that the housing of the Solatubes does not lay perfectly flat to the ceiling so a small amount of light does show up around the top of the opening between the Solatube and the ceiling. We will remedy that with some thin weatherstripping. (Please understand that no water comes in, this is just light seeping through which I think gives it an unfinished look.) This is because most ceilings in our area of the country are textured and not smooth. We mentioned this to Nick and he said other clients had complained about this and that he needs to talk with the manufacturer of Solatubes. I think that since many ceilings in the South are patterned, that Solatube should provide the weatherstripping as part of the kit. I'm not pleased that after spending in excess of $2000, I have to purchase weatherstripping and spend the time applying it, although this is not the fault of Daylight Asheville, but one should be aware of what to expect if you have a patterned ceiling.

The installers were a husband and wife team. The wife got very jealous when my wife offered her husband a drink of water. There was nothing to it other than a drink. Her attitude for the remaining time that they were there was hostile. The installation, we found out later, was of rather poor quality. A screen was damaged during shipping and it took numerous repeated phone calls to receive the replacement screen. Unless changes have been made, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I liked the workmanship very much. The man that did the install did a very good job. I didn't like that they tried to charge more after the fact. They added on a lot more and didn't tell me there would be additional charges. I chose them in the beginning but I wouldn't have chosen them in the end based on price.

Arrived on time, prompt, neat as a pin, courteous, technically well trained and informative.

Both jobs went well. Both workman showed up on time, went to work immediately, cleaned up afterwards, and were very professional. The owner, however, is not good at returning telephone calls and did not return several calls inquring about the status of the order for patio doors. I would have rated my overall experience excellent if she had returned my telephone calls. One thing I really liked was that the owner did not demand payment until the solar tubes and doors were installed and we were satified with both. I definately would do business with her again.

They were a good company but they were a little higher in their estimate than the company we ended up choosing. They were very prompt in coming out for the estimate.

It was very good. He came and was obsessive compulsive about having everything perfect. He washed the whole house, all the sidewalks and patios and the retaining walls. He did an excellent job of painting, he took off all the locks and door knobs from the exterior doors, he was very concerned which white he used would match the other whites.

Excellent experience with this company. Very friendly and capable people. I called and left a message asking for information and my call was returned promptly. Showed up on time for the install appointment and had everything that was needed for the job. He helped me decide where to place the solatubes then went to work. Finished quickly and left the areas clean. Then he adjusted the troublesome storm door! (A DIY project that didn't turn out quite right.) I am so pleased! I am enjoying the light and haven't had any problems in the month since.

No work was done by this person as she never returned by phone or paper the estimate she took measurements for, and discussed with me about. My phone call was never returned, and after the previous slow response for the original estimate I did not call a second time.

Our installation was done the day after we contracted for the Solatube units. The Installer was on time and extremely professional. He had obviously done this type of installation many times (he said 15+ years). The job was completed in just a bit over 2 1/2 hours. Our furniture and appliances were protected by covers and very little mess was made. Everything was completely cleaned up before he left. The Solatubes made a HUGE difference in our in-house lighting. I would HIGHLY recommend the produce and this company for installation.

Andy was very professional, efficient and overall excellent. You can tell that he has been doing this for many years.

We called them out to do an estimate which they did on the spot. Their numbers came in lower than the other estimates(I had two others)and they ordered the windows. They came in when they said they would and the work was done pretty much on time. We had a couple of communication blips but I believe that was more because there were 3 people involved making decisions and we changed our minds and didn't communicate properly. They cleaned up and left extra siding for us to have for repairs.

It went very well. Chip Phillips came out to give us and estimate. We had gotten several, and the others were either too high or so low as to be unbelievable. We chose Showcase Exteriors. There were a couple of delays getting started due to weather (needed to be dry with no rain fore casted). Once they started, the two skylights and the interior drywall was installed in a day. It took two more days to finalize the drywall work and paint. They were very careful in their work, and took extra care to not damage our wood floors. There was little dust. They paid attention to small details.

Marie was on time for her initial review and proposed cost. The installers were on time, but it turned out, the manufacturer sent the wrong color trim. This caused a delay of about 10 days, but I was fortunate to get the correct installation a couple of days before Thanksgiving which is what I was shooting for. The installers worked in an efficient manner and cleaned up the debris.

Very Well. Representative arrived at the scheduled time, worked steadily and efficiently, cleaned up well. Gave good advice. Obviously experienced and knowledgeable.

Got three bids and picked Showcase even though they were not the lowest bid. Just felt very comfortable with them. Glad I did. Signed a very official looking contract with them on all we agreed to. Work was started on time and completed on time. Very good clean up. Made all payments as agreed to. A few problems were fixed very quickly and to my satisfaction. Workmanship was top notch. No complaints.
