AC was not installed properly resulting in multiple visits by other AC person AC Leaked, old freon was not flushed, and new pipes to accommodate new freon not installed even though we paid for them. George and Co. send two brothers to take care of the leak, and they sat in attic for 2 hours, undid the HVAC and did not tape it back together, they did nothing to replace the condenser and coils even thought they had the part and all was suppose to be under warranty. This resulted in our having to hire someone else to the tune of $3,000. They did not care! My next door neighbor was had his ac installed same day had to replace his second floor due to AC leaking - ceiling and floors. Just bad people all around. Not sure why Lowes still use them DO NOT HIRE TO INSTALL

The technician that came did not know much about the install, the unit worked for 1 month, then the evaporator coils were damaged during install. Trane (manufacture) had to come in and install a new one. Last week, again the evaporator coil failed, I called on Friday the 20th them and initially they were nice, got the part under warranty from trane. I reminded them that the part had failed once before, and I should not have to pay for parts/labor/freon/taxes (over $1000) They told me that the labor was not under warranty. They assured me that all would be fixed Monday am. I called to get an update, and was told that the tech was there at the house ( this is a beach vacation rental) The tech was at my house doing the work. I asked to have the tech call me and tell me how it was going. No calls for 4 hours, I called again, and was told that they would not fix the HVAC, they did not like that I had reminded them of the issues we had when unit was first installed. They told the Tech to leave the house, and not perform any work. ( Who does that after traveling 2.5 hours to fix an HVAC? Their office is in Elizabeth City, NC and our home is in Avon, NC) Why not finish the work and ask for payment? My conclusion is that they had more issue than they had told me, and did not want to deal with me being more upset. I have another HVAC person going, and he told me it could possibly be more than the evaporator coil, so I believe that George and Co. did not want to get involved with more work. The initial cost was $4900, repairs over $1000, my warranty is for 10 years, and they told me I only had a 5 year warranty, which will expire 3/10/2019 per them. My warranty clearly shows 10 years

He just came out and told my mom she needed oil. Then when she got oil, they came out again. They billed her for both visits. They billed her $100 for the first visit. When she tried to call them, they wouldn't let her speak to the manager. She left her number and he wouldn't return her calls. They are the main company here, so we have to use their services.
Description of Work: The heater wouldn't come on, so they came out to take a look.

JANUARY WAS ONE OF THE COLDEST MONTHS THIS AREA HAD EXPERIENCED IN A LONG TIME. WE THOUGHT AT FIRST IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT WHICH HAD FAILED. WE CALLED OUR BUILDER, WHO IN TURN IMMEDIATELY GOT IN TOUCH WITH GEORGE & COMPANY. THEY WERE SWAMPED WITH NUMEROUS SERVICE CALLS BUT SAID THEY WOULD GET HERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THEY WERE AWARE WE HAD THE FIREPLACE SO THEY KNEW OURS WAS NOT AN EMERGENCY. BY THE NEXT AFTERNOON, THEY CAME, ASSESSED THE SITUATION, AND LEARNED THAT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER UNDER THE HOUSE HAD TRIPPED. THEY RESET IT, BUT SHOWED US HOW TO CHECK THIS IN THE FUTURE AND PERHAPS PREVENT ANOTHER SERVICE CALL.
Description of Work: RETURNING FROM A TRIP IN JANUARY, WE FOUND THE HOUSE TO BE BITTER COLD. WE HAD LEFT THE THERMOSTAT SET AT 65, AND IT WAS VERY COLD OUTSIDE, SO WE DID NOT BECOME ALARMED IN THE BEGINNING. WE SOON DISCOVERED THERE WAS NO HEAT AT ALL.
