IVEY'S SEPTIC TANK SERVICE

I contacted Ivey's several times in March and April 2013 to ask him for a consultation about a major project: hooking up our house to city sewer as we are still using a 50 year old septic system. We wanted an estimate and to go over the process with him. Ivey's was highly recommended by Angie's list, by our neighbor since he had just finished the exact same project for her and also, he had built a septic system for my husband's first house. However, he did not show up for the first appointment, nor did he call to say he was running late or could not come. After one week, I called back. The person who answered the phone apologized and we set up another appointment. Again, a no show with no phone call that day or the following days to apologize or explain what had happened. So I sent an email asking for an explanation. None came. We are mystified. Emergencies happen and we understand that, but this is inexcusable. We will go elsewhere.

I called several companies with no positive response. Ivey's responded quickly, came out to look at the job and scheduled the work for the following week. They were prompt and professional. They had a mini-backhoe which was required for our tight space. They arranged for the septic inspector to come out while they were there. The work was completed quickly with little disturbance to the surrounding area. Overall, we were pleased with their experience and competence. It seemed like a lot of money for a small job, but there were three guys and a backhoe working full time for about an hour. So overall a fair price.

It went very well. We had so much sewage that the contractor had to make 2 trips, but we were only charged the standard rate for 1 pump-out.

The company helped us out by suggesting that they check out the second tank as well as the one we had called about. They dug up the second tank when we agreed. It turned out that it did need to be cleaned as well.
