Executive Summary: They started the project, did it wrong, started the repair and then decided in the middle that it was not worth their time and so they "Cut their losses", leaving me with a dug up back yard. They are difficult to get in touch with and communication is poor. NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. CALL ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE DETAILS. THEY ARE AWEFUL!!!!! NOT WORTH THE FEW PENNIES YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE. THEY QUOTE ONE PRICE AND CHARGE YOU DOUBLE. Full Story: I wanted a gas line for a grill and fire pit. This was to be a staged project. First stage, to put in a gas line for the grill prior to destruction of the deck. Carlo Garay (the propriator) stated that he can do the project without any issue. The cost would be $300. He placed the line, it failed inspection, he then replaced the line (in a place that I did not want). He changed me an extra $500 to "tear down and replace the line" that he had put in incorrectly and not to code. He claims that he is not responsible for the gas inspector, but he is the gas professional, he needs to make appropriate plans when he accepts a project. Once I had procured a contractor to tear down the deck, make a patio, and a fire pit, Carlo came back out to plan the project. This was to remove the gas line (that was placed in the wrong place from before at a cost of $800 total) and then to replace gas lines for the grill and the fire place. To plan out the project, he was going to give my hardscape contractor a detailed plan regarding conduit placement. Apparently, this never happened. His team came and disconnected my gas line. Once my deck had been torn down and the hardscape contractor had placed the condui, Carlo decides that "this project is not feasible and profitable for us". He then glibly states "sorry for the short notice ... Good luck." To add insult to injury, he does this over text message. He doesnt have the professionalism to call me or to offer me another contractor referral. Carlo does this, 1 week before Christmas. He knows that I have company coming for the Holiday. He promised me that the project can be done before they arrive. Now I will have my family here with a back yard that is all mud and ditches. You should never use this company. I am happy to discuss details with anyone who want to know.

I have service contract, purchased on basis of excellent experience with Cand J late last year. So this was a routine, seasonal service call. However I'd asked them to also look into possible water in my outside unit, as I've been experiencing a dank smell that last year was attributable to such a problem; I thought it recurred. Cand J technicians went over and above in search of the source of the smell, located a leak under my bathroom that might have gone undetected for months were it not for their efforts. Very grateful for their extra efforts, and they didn't charge me at all. All other service done was fine.

In November we hired Cand J to service our home's 2 HVAC systems and fix the items from our pre-purchase home inspection for $200 and also had the owner come at no charge for a second visit to figure out the bigger issue and provide a quote to fix it. The basement heating unit and two outside AC units (from what I can tell) seem to have been serviced well by that technician who also took care of the prior inspection items. I also showed the other technician working on the attic unit the list of prior inspection items and specifically asked him if he took care of them. He told me that he reviewed the list and that it was serviced properly. I later found out that he failed to tape up some ripped insulation on the supply plenium and did not seal a filter return box, both listed on the home inspection he reviewed. I told the office and also the owner when he came for the second visit to see if he could find the bigger problem of why we were feeling ill in the master bedroom whenever the heat was on. He mentioned a person who investigates air quality, but never gave me the information. We left it off that he was researching a UV light that didn't have ionization and would give me a quote for that as well as provide some other recommendations. After not hearing back and still having problems, I contacted the owner in January. After speaking to some neighbors who mentioned this as a possibility, I told the owner that we thought unfiltered attic and outside air were getting into the master bedroom from the return box that I had previously told his office and him (in person and in an email back in Nov) was not sealed as I had asked during the service call. He said that my 30 day warranty was up. He told me he referred me to another air quality company, which was not true because my last email from him was that he was researching options. All Cand J had to do was have a technician come back and tape up the two incomplete areas to satisfy me. I told him within the 30 days that it was not completed (I even have it in an email in writing). I had been patiently waiting for his quote until I started to suspect that our issues were due to what they failed to complete. I told him all this and he still refused to come back and standby his company's work. I would not recommend this company. Another HVAC company said that the unsealed filter box (from the home inspection) was allowing unfiltered attic and outside air in, so taped it up for us. I'm still not sure if this will fully solve our problem, but this should have been taken care of by Cand J back in November as I had asked or at least done now when I had brought it up again. Nice job of stalling to try and get out of coming back to complete the job, Cand J.

On Nov 2 of 2012 we provided service on 2 Heating and air system. The work order consisted of general services on the equipment. Check the proper operations of the heating and cooling mode on both units plus minor repairs. The customer call back on Nov 14 to set up an appoitment with me to quote them on a Humidifier. On Nov 15 I arrive at the customer house around 8:AM. I listen to the customer concern and issues for 4 hours ( not billable) instruct thecustomer how to clean and service 2 portable humidifier at no charge. At some point we discuss to have another company that deal more with their issues and concern, instead of having two company working on a particular problems, they will be better serve to have one company addressing all their concern and problems. I send the information of the other company to the customer. I never heard back from the customer until January 30 of 2013 asking us to go back at no charge or to reimburse her money. At this time I suggested for her to look at the copy of our invoices were clearly stated our warranty policies. (All labor performed by the above named company is warranted for 30 days. Not 89 days) I have sign invoices, company data (time, dates) to back up our response.

overall, their task went smoothly. professional, clean, pleasant individual.didnt stop for a smoke. thats a big thing to me.i do recommend them.
Description of Work: C & J HVAC worked and coordination Indoor Enviromental Systems.they worked along side IES technicians each performing thier various tasks.they installed a mini split heat pump that will service a small portion of our home.we have another larger heat pump that C & J will maintain for us as well.the technicians went about their work, checked and doubled checked their workbefore signing off on this project.they were exceptionally professional and patient with me when i had questions.
