TROSA Moving

Trosa arrived on time at 8:30am and everyone introduced themselves and took a look around the house to assess the boxes v furniture before starting. We went over the quote and contract with the lead guy and they started working. The men were fast and worked well together. They got all the boxes out first and then started on the furniture. It was crazy hot and humid so they would take water breaks every hour or so and get up and keep going. They completed the job within the quoted time and there were no surprises.

TROSA was professional and helpful in helping us move to Wilmington. A moving coordinator was assigned to our move, who came out and estimated the size (weight) of our household items. After we agreed to move with TROSA they arranged delivery of all the items needed to pack our belongings ahead of time (boxes, tape, paper). When they delivered the items, I thought they had brought too many boxes. etc. They assured me that items would be credited if we didn't use them. They had estimated the amount of materials needed correctly....I returned 5 boxes and a few rolls of tape. The day of the move 8 men arrived in a semi truck. I was very impressed that the driver backed the semi down the driveway on the first try! The team lead explained the procedure to my husband and I... the lead was in the truck loading, while the other men were bringing our belongings out of the house. We were encouraged to ask questions and there was a designated person to co-ordinate communication inside the house. They men checked with us frequently to make sure they understood what we wanted. It took the team about 8 hours to load the truck in the HOT North Carolina sun! The TROSA team had great stamina, wonderful attitudes and never got grumpy with questions, requests or the dogs following them around (hoping for a frisbee toss). We traveled to Wilmington on the same day as our move. We closed on our house the next day. TROSA delivered our furniture on the following day. The delivery of the furniture was scheduled for two day to insure there was enough time to complete the move. The delivery team consisted of 4 men. The team lead and driver remained on the team. Again the team had a high degree of professionalism. All furniture and equipment were put back together before they left the house. The TROSA team made sure they understood where we wanted items in the house. They were also patient with us if we had to figure out where things should go... Our refrigerator did get the front door scratched. I am not sure how the scratch happened as the refrigerator was wrapped in furniture pads. We discussed with the team leader and decided to try stainless steele cleaner to see if we can buff it out. There is no abrasion on the surface, but we haven't tried it yet.

They were great. They came out and did a good job of giving an estimate. I thought they gave me a good price and probably the lowest price among the bidders that gave bids. I did a local move and they did a good job. They moved me quickly and got me into my new place. The guys who came out did a great job of explaining how they do it and how the move would go. They were very patient in explaining the whole process. They gave me a very transparent quote and the quote was right on. It was a really competitive price. They did a good job. They came out on the day of the move. They came when they said they would come. They did everything and they worked really quickly. They had everything wrapped up well within the time frame. They are the price leader here locally. I don’t think anyone can compete with them. Quality was good. There could be some things that they can improve on. Being a single guy, I was in the army for a long time and moved a lot; I am not all apprehensive about my things. I have done it a lot. I would think that someone that hasn’t moved a lot would worry about some of their packing methods for a local move. I don’t know what their packing methods are for a normal cross country move. They have a different standard for that. If there was any room for improvement it would be in that area. Some of their packing techniques for a local move seem slightly unconventional. They were great on responsiveness. They get very high marks on almost all categories. If I have anything to say it would be the packing techniques. The company is a philanthropic organization. They have rehabbing folks. All the folks they use have been under a certain structured program for 24 months. They have taken people and thought them how to put structure back in their life and get back in track. A lot of people have problem giving business to an organization like that and I did not. The supervisors they have run the crew really well. The guys are motivated to do well. They are quick and sometimes some things are sacrificed for quickness. It is just a matter of them being young and trying to do well. They are trying to get back on track. They are very professional on the phone and in-person the supervisors are very professional. They try very hard to be professional. If I have a local move here, I would absolutely use them again in the future. I get a good deal for the price.

This was not a very good experience. The movers were not very professional. Some of the men I feel were not properly trained movers. Their estimate was 5 hours, but they took over 7 to do the work. They worked hard but not efficiently. The price tag was pretty heavy as well. They did come back and knocked off an hour after I said I was not happy with the experience.

TROSA was wonderful. The crew of four showed up on time, were very polite, and did a great job of taking care of our stuff. I was really impressed with how much care they took in wrapping our furniture, etc so that it did not get damaged. My mother had never seen a mover take such care. They even did things like dissemble our crib and reassemble it. They also moved a very large planter in extremely hard rain without a single complaint. We could not have been happier with them. They were great.

They were there promptly at 8'30 with five workers. The truck was clean and big enough for all my furniture plus house plants. Theyt did everything I asked, big or small. The men were always courteous to me and my husband. They worked hard for five hours taking only one break. Not only did someone call beforehand but also after the job was completed.

It was great. They were no problems. Everything went smoothly and quickly. They just assisted with moving. I don't recall the price. They were courteous. They took care of my belongings. I hope I don't have to move again. I would use them if I had to.

This team of four men, Reginald, David, Chris, and Victor, were GREAT to work with. They wasted no time and handled all our needs with great care and we had NO damages! This was a super company for communicating with us. While I was not aware of the TROSA organization when I hired them, it felt good in the end to know that all my moving needs were met AND I was able to help with the rehabilitation of these hard working men. They worked for 5 hours and were not even going to stop for lunch, when we insisted on at least getting some fast food for them. They took a 1/2 hour break (which they did not charge us for) and were very appreciative of the lunch. I would recommend this company/organization to anyone. It was a really good experience!

They were on-time, very efficient, and were very careful with our furniture/belongings as well as careful not to scratch/dent the walls in either the old apartment or our new home which had been recently had the interior completely re-painted. All of the gentlemen who worked that day were, in fact, gentlemen, and were very polite, very friendly, and clearly took pride in their work. The added bonus in selecting TROSA for your move is that you know you are really helping to make a difference in someone's life. Everyone who works there is also in a long-term, residential program, battling substance abuse/alcoholism or other personal issues. Having lost a good friend to a substance abuse problem, as well as watching other friends and family members struggle with maintaining sobriety, I understand that addictions are truly an illness, not just a sign of moral weakness or a lack of willpower. These people have made the conscious decision to reclaim their lives for themselves and their families, and TROSA is a very successful and very disciplined and serious treatment program. If anyone has any qualms about hiring TROSA because their workers are in a treatment program, I would urge you to try to put those anxieties to rest and trust them. All of their workers have already been through a very long period of intensive therapy, detox, addiction support groups, education and vocational training before they are allowed to work for any of their businesses (lawn care, furniture repair, frame shop, moving, storage, and XMas tree lots). They've been very highly vetted--even more so than workers from other moving companies, many of whom use day laborers through temp agencies who are independent contractors and not employees of the moving business itself, which reduces the liability for those companies. Basically, if one of the day-laborers screws up your stuff or steals something, those moving companies have a limited amount of responsibility to repair or replace things because the workers they use aren't their employees. Some of them don't even go through agencies, they'll just put ads in Craigslist or literally pick people up off of the street to work for the day. With TROSA you know the workers have received a lot of training, have a high level of accountability, and are happy and proud to be working to make a new life for themselves and their families. We were very impressed with TROSA and the gentlemen who worked that day. The only item that was damaged at all was a stand for some TV trays that was on its last legs as it was, and was very poorly made to begin with. They were super apologetic about it and took it back with them, repaired it perfectly and brought it back over to us within a week and you can never tell it ever broke. To contrast/compare, when we moved to Raleigh from Chicago in May 2012 the movers lost two throw pillows for our couch which had been custom made. We called them to see if they had somehow gotten left on the truck or if they found them elsewhere, and we called them probably 5 times over the span of a month or so and they never even called us back. And this was a company that was the #1 recommendation for long-distance moves according to all of our sources. Another pet peeve of mine is that movers never seem to show up on time, or they drag out a move that should take 3 or 4 hours to 8 hours or more. TROSA was incredibly efficient but still took great care with our belongings. We weren't paying for 3 or four guys to be moving things slowly and one guy to stand around like it seems we have every other time we have moved--and between 2002 and 2013 we have moved SIX times, including from NY to Chicago and then Chicago to Raleigh! So, we feel like we have basically become experts on moving--though not because we wanted to! TROSA was recommended to us by our realtor at Fonville-Morrisey, another wonderful local business, and we are very glad we chose them for this move--which will hopefully be our last one for at least another 20 years now that we are homeowners with enough room in our new home for our family to grow comfortably. I've been joking that I will only be moved from this house in a wheelchair or a gurney, because we've moved so much we're DEFINITELY sick of it, but if for some reason we do relocate again (knock on wood we will not) we will most certainly hire TROSA, and I am very happy to sing their praises to anyone I know who is looking for movers. Having previously worked in marketing, I know how powerful word of mouth can be, and since moving everyone we've talked to has had nothing but glowing things to say about their experiences with TROSA. Most people these days don't go out of their way to talk about a business unless their experiences were extremely positive or horrifyingly terrible, and I am very pleased to say that our experience with TROSA falls into the first category. Efficient, punctual, well-trained, cordial and skilled would all be ways I would describe the service we received from TROSA. I cannot fathom that there is any moving company in the Triangle that is better--not to mention at a remarkable reasonable and competitive price--and compared to the scores of other moving companies we've used in various areas of the country for big, small, local and long distance moves, TROSA is in a totally other category far superior to any other company we've ever used. I am also pleased to know that I, in some small way, am helping people who want to have meaningful, successful, meritorious and virtuous lives advance in the direction of that goal for themselves and their loved ones.

Went just as expected--problem-free!

I bought a house and needed to leave my rental. I had 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room and assorted boxes to move acroos town. They were so helpful, polite, and all around great guys. They got down to business and managed to move all my furniture from one house to the next in less than 2 hours. I had no issues at all. They were also far more affordable than my last movers in June of 2012.

I've used TROSA for three of the four moves I've done over the past few years and have been extremely happy with the service they perform. They protect the furniture with wrappings more than the other more expensive "professional" movers I've used. They have always been very careful with my belongings and never damaged anything including walls and floors. They show up on time, work hard and never take a break. You get more than what you pay for and you're helping a local charity that serves a great cause, can't go wrong.

Trosa was prompt and professional. The piano and my home were undamaged.

I called for a quote and received a good deal of information and they requested to survey our items to be moved in order to give a more accurate estimate of time to move. We had quite a few phone calls back and forth as they requested that we move our start time from morning to afternoon and then back to the morning, which was a little inconvenient to deal with but in the end they took some money off the hourly rate (charging us for 3 men only) to compensate without being asked. The move itself was fairly efficient and nearly without incident. They wrapped most items quite well. In disassembling some of our desks, they damaged portions that could not be repaired (this was not discovered until a few days after the move) and made minor damage to the walls when moving into the new house. I was able to report these to the crew boss who wrote up a report. He was quite surprised that damage occurred (making it seem like an infrequent occurrence) and apologetic. TROSA's construction division called me within a few days to schedule a repair and ended up coming the following weekend. I would give the repairs a "B" rating, as they were not as thorough as I'd like. I actually pointed out a few things I wasn't sure about and was assured that it would look better when the paint dried - it did not. These are ultimately minor and can be fixed by touch up painting on my own. Ultimately, I think I would use them again but would be more vigilant about guiding disassembling things and press harder if repairs are completed.

They were able to get a crew out less than a week after the estimate. It only took them a few hours to remove all of the shrubs, grind down the tree stump, and remove all of the debris. They even threw in an extra shrub that had been missed in the original estimate free of charge. We're planning on using their services again in the near future!

Wow. I can't say enough great things about the job TROSA did for us. They gave us an estimate over the phone while we evaluated moving companies, and then did an in-home estimate to confirm the price, amount of time and number of men and trucks they would need. The morning of our move, the movers showed up promptly and reviewed all the details with us before they began. It was a big job and took nine men all day long to move us - in the rain. Despite all that, they were professional and very well-humored, even when we reached the eleventh hour of the move. Despite it being a huge job, they still managed to come in under the estimate they provided, which was very reasonable and less than other estimates we received. They took great care with our things and had a great work ethic. Everything was delivered in perfect condition and we really liked the guys. There was a team manager that effectively managed all the other guys and answered any questions we had. Highly, highly recommend.

Crew showed up early and completed moving within three hours. They were great, conscientious and careful with our furnishings. I applaud the work of Trosa. We also gave them a donation.

Excellent move. The company sent three guys for both the loading and unloading. They were knowledgeable and careful about wrapping and padding furniture and would wrap extra things which I deemed to be fragile, when I requested. They were knowledgeable about how to pack the truck so things would not shift during transit. I found both the scheduling employees and the actual movers to be professional and courteous and reliable. I highly recommend this company. I especially believe in and support the purpose of this organization. It offers opportunity to those who society has difficulty giving another chance. I believe that this organization SAVES LIVES.

Overall it was EXCELLENT!! I would highly recommend TROSA to any one seeking a moving company for local or long distaance moves.

Overall, the service was good. I did have my doubts about the fellow that came out to document what was to be done. He took no notes and drew a square that represented the house and an X to mark where a shrub was to be completely removed. I was unable to discern by his drawings what was front, back, north or south side of the house. The team came on the day expected, but later than scheduled. They did do a really good job on the shrubbery and left little to no debris behind. The price was a little steep, but I will surely call them again when I need some yard work done that I cannot do myself. Hooray for Trosa!

I would STRONGLY recommend them to anyone. They were polite, professional, and extremely careful of all our possessions. I could not have been happier!
