We were very pleased with the job they did for us. They were on time. They got the job done on time. We were very pleased. I know the guy that did the painting afterwards felt like they should have washed down the wall before.

He did a good job doing that, he was a nice guy, but no wallpaper was removed. They came on the day that we had set it up to be done. He did a good job on the painting, but we really thought that he was going to tell whoever he worked for to quote us for more work, but nothing. We heard nothing, so we are trying to the work. I am not complaining about the work that he did, I am complaining that they didn't do what they say they would do, nor did they try to remove the wallpaper. The guy was nice, and he did a good job painting. We paid for something we thought we would get and we didn't get, so the price was not right, and they thought it would take more than 3 hours. It is evidently a painting company. I thought the price was good, but it wasn't high enough for the job. The painting was quality. He got here when he said he would get here, but I have not heard from anybody since. They got here at the time they said they would. He is a professional as a painter, he knew that paper was hard to get off, and he didn't even attempt to get it off. I would use them again if they came and completed the job.

The owner was great and was able to schedule us on short notice prior to us moving into our new home. The paint crew did a great job. Will definitely use this company again.

Got off to a bad start as the owner forgot to write my appointment down. I called the business but had to leave a message. I then called Angie's List and the person there was quite unhelpful, telling me to wait until the end of the day; meanwhile I had cleaned out the bathroom in anticipation of the drywall being repaired. I finally got to talk to the owner the following day and, although he said he would call that evening, he didn't. Once again, I called and finally got a time for the person to come to do the work. On the day of the job, Sergio was 30 minutes late and, once again, I was starting to "lose it" but he came and did a great job. All in all, things worked out well.

Excellent job! Sergio was awesome! He worked so hard and got all the super stuck wallpaper off the walls, including removing fixtures and a huge mirror to access the wall.

They were professional and prompt. Did a fantastic job with the prep work of fill cracks or holes and sanding/priming before an excellent job of painting. Even touched up the bad paint job I did myself when I accidentally left paint marks on the ceiling. They finish basically 4 rooms in one day. I would definitely use again. The owner Michael was also very professional and was here at the start of the job too make sure everything was in order.

They were extremely polite, cleaned up well, and followed all of the steps I requested regarding placement of tarps, etc. They were very attentive to detail and we will absolutely be calling them again for future work.

We purchased the 2 painter for a day coupon. Mike called us and asked if it would be okay to send 1 painter for two days, which was fine by us. The first painter was a good worker, clean, but was not the most experienced painter. the second day, mike sent a much more experienced painter that finished the job and touched up the job from the first day. I was impressed with how dedicated Mike was to ensure the right job was done. He clearly takes pride in his business. I would recommend to a friend.

The work was good in the end but the overall experience was horrible. This is my second experience prepaying Angie's List "deals" and having terrible experiences with service providers not meeting expectations or promises made. This deal was $999 for 40 hours of painting work, member supplies the material. I met with the manager and discussed at the time instead of painting walls my preferred choice for the work was removal and repainting of the texture ceilings of the lower floor of our home. As agreed in the deal, I would provide all of the materials necessary to complete the job. The manager surveyed the opportunity being presented and agreed to the job saying it would take 3-4 days to complete. We agreed to a start date of Monday, Nov.16. That Monday the crew arrived and began the work as agreed. Later that afternoon I received a call from the manager asking why I was having his crew do work in other areas of the home that were not part of the agreed plan. Specifically he wanted to know why they were working in upstairs bedrooms? This clearly was not the case whatsoever. I assured the manager they were only working in the agreed areas of the lower floor of the home. He then stated they cannot do any extra work because they had to be finished with this job by the end of the next day on Tuesday. I told the manager this was not possible as the 2 workers could never complete the project that fast. I reminded him that we agreed to 3-4 days for this project. He assured me they will be done because they are scheduled elsewhere on Wednesday for another job. Tuesday the work started again as expected. Later that afternoon when it was clear the work would not be completed within the 2 days the manager demanded, the manager called me again to say his workers would be leaving the job at the end of the day, no option. I argued like crazy and after further review the manager and his workers decided they could come back to finish the job on Saturday for an additional $650. Classic "bait and switch" is what I thought immediately when the solution was more money. Sitting with plastic sheets draped throughout each room of the home and piles of wall board dust floating throughout the entire house from their work, I agreed to the new proposal thinking I had no choice or options. Again, prepaying an Angie's List "deal" left me in a major disadvantage for negotiation to get the job done right. The workers admitted there had not been a job with this manger at this company that didn't end up in a fight with the customer about the promises not kept and expectations not met. Now this guy wants to get paid the additional money and I'm reluctant to send him anything until I speak with someone from Angie's List. Personally I would like to speak with Angie and let he know about her deals that for me, have been nothing short of a rip off and clear bait and switch tactic to get more money for the deal offered. If this review is properly read, I hope I get a call to discuss this matter in detail and hopefully find a reasonable remedy from this horrible second experience. Steve Abourisk (919) 522-6762

It took a long to get scheduled, but they did a great job and got everything done within the allotted time.

I ordered the 3 room deal on September 28, 2015. I requested a couple of time slots in the two weeks following. Unfortunately, the owner, Mike, said the earliest he could schedule me was 10/19, so I agreed to that date. I then got an email that the painters couldn't come until 10/31. On 10/31 two painters showed up, but they didn't have the ladder they were supposed to bring, so they couldn't start on the 3rd room. The painters promised to come back on 11/2. On 11/2, after the agreed upon start time, I called the owner and he apologized and offered me any other day that week that would work with my schedule. We settled on 11/4. On 11/3, I got an email that 11/4 was no longer an option (5th time I was rescheduled). I shared with Mike early on, I needed the job finished before 11/6 due to company coming for the holidays. After getting unscheduled for 11/4, I reached out to Angie?s List requesting a partial refund since I wasn't pleased with all the rescheduling. Angie's List let me know they couldn't offer a partial refund, but they put a call into Tropical Paint requesting they call me. I didn?t hear back from Tropical Paint, so I called them. I agreed to let Tropical Paint come back on 11/7. Two painters arrived on 11/7, and once they got started Mike called to let me know I exceed the sq footage of the deal and that it would cost me additional to finish. I agreed to pay the additional money to get the job finished. Unfortunately after one coat of paint, the painters decided it was sufficient coverage, so they wrapped up to leave. I called Mike and let him know I expected two coats of paint. Mike said the deal was up to 2 coats of paint if required, and it wasn't required. The Big Deal that I purchased does in fact state 2 coats. I stated that I couldn't agree it was adequate coverage until the paint was dry. Mike said his guys needed to go to other jobs and couldn't wait for the paint to dry. Mike asked me to pay for the additional square footage since his guys had painted one coat; I refused until the job was finished. Again Mike said his guys couldn?t wait for the paint to dry. I did provide a check for the $65 that we had initially discussed being required for walls higher than 10 feet. I'm left with walls that show brush marks, walls that are streaked, and walls that need another coat of paint to show the true paint color. However, after a heated conversation with Mike about why his guys were done because the walls were good even though the specified two coats weren?t provided, there is no way I'll let Tropical Paint back in my house.

Great, employee arrived on time and worked until 4pm. Extremely polite, and very professional. I plan to use their services agin in the future.

Great company--excellent painters--would recommend to others. Mike worked with our changing schedule and offered flexibility to meet our requests. Painters Ricky and Abo were friendly and professional, arrived on time and offered helpful advice. They listened to all our requests and concerns and were careful to protect furniture and surfaces during the job. Our home is an older one and needed much wall prep. They worked very efficiently together and always cleaned up well before leaving. Most importantly, they provided quality painting with attention to details all around. Emphasized several times that they wanted to assure customer satisfaction. Would hire again in future.

They were excellent. Michael came and gave me a quote for the work. I followed up by email to authorize the work and Michael responded right away with a date on which they could start. They arrived on time and ready to get to work on that day. Abo and his crew were professional and very nice. We enjoyed having them in our home and felt perfectly at ease. They kept our home tidy and cleaned up after themselves every day. They are skilled painters and our home looks terrific. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality paint job!

Well. The 2 painters showed up about 9am worked until 4:30pm. They did a good job patching some holes we missed. Overall very happy with their work.

I really liked the guy I spoke with and who gave me an estimate, but I just decided not go through with the process. I'm just really busy right now.

The painter did an outstanding job patching and painting the bathroom walls and ceiling. He also was very careful when sanding and painting my cabinet to insure no paint or dust spread throughout the bedroom or house.

We had a great experience. The painters arrived on time and painted 3 bedrooms in one day. They were prompt, professional, and courtesy. I would absolutely recommend.

Roberto was great. He arrived on time. He made very little mess while working and cleaned up after himself throughout the entire house. The finished product is clean and looks great. He actually finished early and asked me if that was all I had for him to do. Overall a great experience.

Provider was good at following up quickly after purchase to see if I wanted to schedule. Ended up not needing the service. Would purchase in future if painting needed at the time. Rating was based on this followup.
