Susan is the best! Very knowledgeable about the market, the process, and what to look for in a property. And customer-focused! Even though it took a while to find my new home, with the market, my specific requirements and some hurdles, she kept emphasizing that finding me the right place was her priority. She's also a wonderful person and a joy to work with.

Susan was fantastic to work with. We bought our home with her in 2003, which was a new construction home in process while we were out of state. She provided numerous updates and photos, handled minor issues, and helped us arrange the best stages to come during the building process. We recently sold our house to move out of state and immediately thought to contact Susan. As our agent she was instrumental in helping us prepare to list our home to maximize its list price. Again, she was efficient and responsive. A pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone in search of a real estate agent.

Susan Hertz was fabulous to work with when selling my husband’s house earlier this year. She was super responsive and on top of things - basically always available via text or phone for advice (even about small stuff like shower curtain choice the night before photos!!) and connected us with a very affordable stager who made the place look great. We felt like her advice for listing time frame, price, and what to do to get the house ready were all right on - we felt like she recommended the right changes without pushing anything extra. Susan gave us realistic expectations given the market and limited available comparisons. We chose a more conservative listing price, but ended up with lots of offers well over that amount, we think due to this strategy! In addition to all this, she’s a super likable person. She gives you advice and info based on her extensive experience but is never pushy and the choice is ultimately up to you. I’m so glad we worked with Susan and would definitely work with her again!

We moved from Nevada to North Carolina in January. We initially thought we wanted to live in the mountains so we rented a home in Western North Carolina. I quickly learned that mountain living is not for me but the city I wanted to live in was a four hour drive from our rental. Susan is an outstanding real estate agent. She helped us for over a year in a crazy real estate market. I'm someone who likes to take my time with big decisions, which did not go well with the pace of the real estate market. Susan was very patient and got to know my family's needs. She learned my preferences and she NEVER pressured me to put an offer on a house, despite showing me MANY. She was always available when we needed to see a house quickly. Susan was referred to me by a friend when I needed to sell by house in Durham NC, after moving to New Orleans. I can't say enough great things about the experience. I had previously spoken to another broker, who had me convinced that I needed to invest money in upgrading certain parts of the house before putting it on the market -- a difficult thing to do from afar. in contrast, Susan was immediately positive about the house and its attributes, and suggested putting the house on the market immediately - as is- to take advantage of a limited market. So I took her advice, and had 6 offers in one day and ended up selling the house for $30K over the listing price. After the negative experience I had with the first broker, working with Susan was a breeze. I was able to sell the house without coming back to Durham at all!! She communicated well and was an absolutely DREAM to work with. I can't say enough good things about her!!!!

Susan is everything we hoped for in real estate agent, and much more. As out-of-town buyers we especially appreciated that Susan is highly professional, exceptionally easy to reach, responsive, proactive, and very well-connected in the Durham community, including inspection, contractors and craft specialists. We were "out of town" purchasers. We talked with Susan by phone and e-mail, and made an exploratory trip to Durham. She gave us a tour of the area and a few houses she thought we might like, and we found the perfect house on this "exploratory" trip. It went wonderfully. We had done a few things to spruce up the outside of the house, but nothing to fix up the inside. Due to the hot market, Susan suggested we try to sell it as was inside, asking somewhat less than we would have if all the work had been done. We had three offers within 30 hours of the house being put on the market, two of which were more than our asking price.

Susan is the consummate professional. She is knowledgeable in regard to all aspects of real estate marketing and sales and was very responsive to my inquiries, immediately handing any issues that arose. Having bought six houses and sold three houses, I've seen both what Susan does and how other agents work and I just feel so lucky that I know Susan. She is a great overall agent and an especially great buyer's agent. She saved us from a real mess when she noticed a pipe cover in the back yard and wondered if there might be a water line. It turned out to be a water main and the house wouldn't have been insured: the people who put an offer were taken to court to get their earnest money. Susan pays attention to EVERYTHING and she gets to know what you like and what you're looking for and she works really hard to make sure you're happy.
