DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... EVER! 1. After allegedly reviewing the property in person, Mr Elliot Tatum "never realized" that trees would be on the way and we ended up eating that cost. 2. The fence 'installer" he got to also remove trees was so incompetent that for safety concerns I had to stop him, but still got stuck w $1.2K bill without he removing removing the stumps as obviously necessary. 3. Then he changed installers, various times without even notifying us more then once. 4. He kept on moving the date(s) without ever notifying us before we got aggravated and had to send several unanswered texts/emails. Even after we gave him very strong notes that we wanted it ASAP. 5. Wrong materials were delivered and very poor timing. 6. Took an excessively long time to change the wrong materials, and then it was still completely incomplete under the sad excuse that HomeDepot didn't have enough; but I coincidentally went to HomeDepot and saw plenty. 7. A month passed the original delivery date, I send an ultimatum of 1week to be done or he should refund us before that if he didn't belive he could. our agent (who provides most of his jobs) pressed him hard to reply. 8. He failed on that too, and we were forced to threaten many consequences,including legal action and going to the police to report fraud. 9. that got a courteous and apologetic answer and promise of a quick refund on the next day(Thursday), which never happened. 10. After several emails copying all his usual references and threatening once again, he took a long time to answer giving more excuses and claiming he had to attend a funeral over the Thursday-Friday period and would give us a refund on Saturday. 11. Eventually he delivered a refund on Monday. The cashier check had someone else's name as the issuer... In short he is not competent enough to be a contractor even for a fence, much less anything else! He cn't understand the need to keep the customer informed before the customer becomes upset and/or suspicious, or the concept of prioritizing things once something already went really wrong. What makes it worse is that we fully explained that we need it for our autistic child to have appropriate outside therapeutic time, among many other issues. We explained that if he could do it fast we would be okay with it and would go with someone else at any time during the process without taking it against him as long as he was honest. But now we are without a fence and our it has been extremely stressful to not be able to have our child enjoy our backyard while weather permits; plus our dog has gone nuts stuck inside w only a few outings per day (eating our furniture out of stress).
Description of Work: Didn't do a 240ft nice 5' tall privacy fence after over 30 days from promised completion date(s) and still took several days to deliver refund after many excuses and a huge amount of pressure from those whom the company depends for work referrals.

Thank you Angie's List for the opportunity to respond to the recent review we received. In every situation or disagreement there are two sides of the story. Our company was contracted to build a fence by Mr. [member name removed] about a month ago. We (he and I) discussed the projects scope and requirements thoroughly. After presenting a plan to his home owners association and gaining approval, we started the project. When the line of site was determined, we (he and I) decided that some trees would need to be removed. We (he and I) decided to remove approximately 3 trees. We negotiated a price and the trees were removed. I mentioned to Mr. [member name removed] that I don't remove trees but the guys performing the fence work for me said they did. While the the guys were onsite, I was not present, Mr. [member name removed]negotiated with the men to cut down more trees for a low price. After the trees were removed, Mr. [member name removed] said that the guys did not use proper methods and alerted me to this fact, I thanked him and said I would feel more comfortable if we used another installer to install the fence. I didn't believe it was necessary but I felt that it would be best as I wanted my client to be comfortable. I identified an installer and proceeded to gather materials. During the material gathering process, after some materials were purchased and delivered, Mr. [member name removed] said he wanted 6x6 post instead of 4x4 post. 4x4 post were on the contract that was signed. We said we would make the change order and contacted Home Depot to change materials and make price adjustments. The installers schedule did not line up with ours in the time it took to make the material change. After discussing the delays, apologizing to Mr. [member name removed], I decided it would be best to refund his money. In three business days, Mr. [member name removed] deposit was refunded plus I gave him $400.00 dollars worth of materials for his time. We have never had this type of situation happen in 9 years of major renovations, new construction, additions, commercial upfits, restaurant upfits, and one Historic restoration in which we won an award. We have great reviews besides this one from other clients that still utilize our services to this day. I work diligently to satisfy our clients by any means necessary. We are disappointed this project turned out this way but still respect Mr. [member name removed] opinion and hope the best for him and his family.
