They were extremely responsive and quick. Another company didn't send final quote ina timely manner.i called Seegars, two days later Jason came to measure and discuss the project. The next morning I had a written quote in my email at 7:00am. Everything beginning to end was excellent. We needed a particular gate built with a specialized latch to exit; Jason recommended a gate they put together in house and suggested an alternative latch that solved our problem that saved us over $1000.

Great. They did what I wanted.

Things went well with Seegar's. We appreciated the suggestions the estimator had when he came out to look at quoting our job. He came up with some options for the fence that other companies had not. Someone came out the day before the installers to walk through everything and make sure we were all clear and in agreement on what was going to be installed, marking corners and location of gates. This was very comforting. Then the guys who came out to get the fence in were hard workers and were done in 2 days. The first day to put in posts, the second to put in crossbars and pickets. The fence looks great - we have had many compliments.

We contacted several fencing contractors but most were slow in responding or seemed very pricey. Then, the pool contractor recommended we call Seegars, so we did. Ken Manning came out and we walked around the yard and discussed what we wanted done and he provided some recommendations. Ken was extremely personable and professional... very easy to work with and he would not take any money up front! The gentleman who actually installed the fence was also hard-working, professional, and personable. I could not have asked for nicer people to work with. When we decided we wanted a fence and gate around the pool equipment to keep it off limits from kids, dogs, etc., we only considered one company... Seegars. Ken returned, discussed the best way to accomplish our goal, and ordered fence and gate panels. They were installed a few days ago and everything looks wonderful! We are extremely pleased with the fence!

Within three weeks of installation, the custom wood fencing began to severely warp and bow. In fact, virtually every one of the posts that Seegars installed twisted to one degree or another. Seegars has a wood warranty that explains that, with all wood, some warpage and cracking will occur. This wasn't "some" warpage. This was major warpage ... so much so that the fence is no longer even close to being straight. As if that weren't enough, the fence was thrown together and the cuts looked like they were made with a chainsaw. Between bad cuts, gaps, wedged boards, out of plumb posts and uneven boards, the work was sloppy and unprofessional. And that's just the half of it. When the president of Seegars Durham came out to address my concerns, everything was the wood's fault and, of course, they don't warranty the wood against warpage and cracking after 10 days from installation. They take absolutely no pride in their work, dismissing my concerns with one b.s. response after another. The sloppy cuts? Wood shrinkage. The warpage? It happens and there's "nothing we can do." They did offer to come back to replace a couple of uneven boards and pound in a few nails, but I declined. If our fence is an example of their workmanship, any further work by Seegars would only make matters worse. We have since hired a contractor who has estimated that it will take $1,000 to fix what Seegars wouldn't. Perhaps what amazes us most is their total unwillingness to stand behind their work. It is hard to believe that any company would allow such poor quality and workmanship to be on display for all to see.
