We are very happy with the service. Robert was professional and really know his stuff. We actually had 3 quotes for this job. After talking with all three, we realized that Robert had the best design and the price is reasonable also. His team is punctual and professional. They cleaned up after the job and didn't leave any mess on our lawn or driveway. They also seeded the area and covered with straws. I actually had french drain installed at my prior residence before with a different landscaper and they didn't do any of that. Robert is easy to work with and will fix the job if something isn't to your satisfaction. I will definitely use Professional Lawn Care for another job.
Description of Work: We had about 330 ft of both drainage lines & french drain + 3 catch basins.

Description of Work: Needed a lot of drainage installed due to living in a swamp when it rained. I needed runs on both sides of house. When Eric first came out, he dismissed my comments about the amount of wate in my yard. I had him come out when it was raining - and he said that was a good idea because I did need the amount of drainage I had indicated over the phone. I then informed him before he began work that another contractor told me I needed to run the drain along the back of the house. I would have gone with the other guy had he followed up, but he didn't. No one understands that when you get estimates you are making a decision on money outlay and you can't wait and hope the other guy provides you with an estimate. So even though I told them originally I wasn't going with them because of these issues, no one else was getting back to me so I wrote Eric and told him if he still wanted to do the job, he had it. He first quoted me a price of $1800 when I added about 6 feet of open french drain it went up to $2400. When he ultimately gave me the option of puting in a pump because the water wasn't draining out the back, I told him to put a line along the back. That cost me an additional $400+ In addition to my issues above, they left the twine (which is green and black) that secures the piping all over my lawn so that my grass moving person could get the mower stuck - I think I got it all after they left. Eric is an interesting personality in that you don't know what mood he will be in and what he chooses to concentrate on. He will tell you one date, then another - get used to it. The good news is that it works.

I came out and discussed the water issue. The customer mentioned how much water intrusion she was having from neighboring properties and the slope in her back yard. Many neighborhoods have runoff issues from neighbor to neighbor. Over the years I have seen a greater grade difference from adjacent properties with a lesser measure of water impact on the site in question. My comment was of surprise and not dismissive as the customer lives there and has experienced the flood of water when it rains. I was glad to come out and see what happens when it was raining. WOW, water was really flowing, and it helped to see to solve it. We actually added two sections of French Drain, one close to the house, being a change from regular line to French Drain, that is a depressed area and the second along a back fence that is about 12 feet. Also, we agreed to connect a catch basin in the back of the property to the exit line we were making to the near side of the home which was only 15 feet or so, but I mentioned then that I didn't think the line would drain out as the connecting line was a few inches elevated in relation to the catch basin. We agreed to try it anyway. The water didn't drain effectively. Money was a concern and no mention was made to me initially to take it to the far side at about 45 feet and connect two downspouts of about 20 feet. I didn't mention that option to take it to the far side, didn't consider it, in part because of said financial concerns. But we needed to do that in the end and it would have been best of me to do that initially in retrospect. The price addition for that of $417.00 included trencher rental. Our crew spent one whole day on that line. We lost money on that addition really. The customer is engaging and fun to work with. I enjoyed our time together.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE I fired them. They had my electrician place the electrical outlet and waterline in the middle of where the patio was to be placed. I had to have the electrician come back out and extend it which cost me more money. Patio(s): Placed the patio extending too far out toward the sunny area. I was told "I thought you wouldn't like it". I made them change it. They installed the patio before connecting the water line to the pond requiring the flag stone to be removed and replaced. I requested two steps to the lower patio and they put in one "to see if it would work". It didn't and they had to re-do it. Pond: It LOOKed very pretty when they finally got it done (they had started the end of last summer and it is now spring). He purchased one of the plants that was for zone 8 when we live in zone 7. I noticed a loss of water in the pond. They had installed the pond liner below the pond edge. Eric explained that the liner only comes so wide. I told him that I had done a lot of research on making ponds and they all said that the liner should be 1 foot over the ponds edge and that he would need to piece the liner. He said that he would do that, but later sent an e-mail that he was waiting for the manufacturer to get back to him as to how to piece the liner. I told Eric that I wanted to inspect the liner before the re-rocked the pond. He did not and went ahead and put all the rocks back. There was water loss again and he left the water running to the pond even though the connection from the house was spewing water all over (a waste). I had it by then and am looking for someone to come and redo the lining. He had the nerve to send a bill for the rest of the pond installation. He has been paid for the work done and I will go to Small Claims Court if necessary because I am not paying the invoice. Landscaping: It took several times for me to remind him to have the crew weed wack the back of the yard that was overgrown. The bushes were not cut in a shape I liked and he never redid it. One bush was trimmed off center.

I have chosen not to respond to this for a long time, but it has been a sore spot whenever I think of this. First, I LOVE doing ponds and waterfalls. It is my zen project for sure. I have put in a number of pondless waterfalls, fixed ponds, been part of pond builds, etc., but I wanted help from someone with experience when we put in both. The sales/distributor said he would come and help with the pond. He said he would be in charge of the pond, or maybe I mentioned I did more pondless waterfalls, so he said he would take care of the pond dig, and liner and skimmer for the pond portion. I would be in charge of the 10' stream and falls. Once dug, I shot the pond area sight with a laser level-- there was a 6" difference from one side to the other. I told the guy that we would have to make sure to get the pond level all around and take time on that because the customer wanted to make sure she had plenty of water all around the pond. I was told not to worry. (There is kind of a 'build a pond in a day' mentality in the industry to make money.) And he mentioned about how he can adjust the water level. * See later in this note. When cutting the pond liner around the skimmer box face, he didn't have the liner pulled up above the pond, but just to the pond's edge. It should go a foot or so beyond the pond edge. I mentioned to him when I saw this that this would be a major problem, that he just ruined the liner. I was told not to worry because now *they can adjust the water level of the pond from within the box-- a new feature. Ok. Well, these were problems, and the customer had reason to be upset. I was in charge and was leaning on someone who I felt had more experience than me, but I was wrong, and this caused problems. The day we came out to put the pond in, the customer asked us to build the pond larger. The liner size afforded this change That, in fact, made the outlet for the pump rather close to the pond. We marked the placement of the electrical box with the customer when drawing out the original dimensions of the pond on site. One patio area was larger than requested. The response to that is this: after giving the patio dimensions to the supplier, they sent out pallets of material. H-E-Double tooth picks, why was there as much material left over as there was? So, I made the patio larger. She didn't want a section of patio to come out into the sun. I did add patio there. That was my fault, but I also put some patio material a little further around the pond than originally discussed, which was ok for the customer. We took that unwanted patio portion out. Steps: We could only put in one step. It made it a 7" drop from the upper patio to the step and a 7" drop to the lower patio, or there about. Water connection problem: I was to add a connector to the outside spigot from a water line dug from the pond to the said spigot. I put a connector on with a hose clamp. The hose was rather stiff. Well, this type of hose is supposed to be heat shrunk around a particular barbed connector. A plumber should have tackled that. In fifteen years, I haven't dealt with that before. My ignorance caused a problem. My boss cut her bushes once and she didn't like one in particular. Also, she wanted a clean up in the back done and we took too long getting that done. So our maintenance service was lacking in this case for sure. It's sad that things ended on a sour note. I would love to see how the pond is doing. We don't use this supplier anymore.
