He had no sympathy whatsoever that we had no heat in our home when it was 15 degrees outside. He first promised that he would try to have someone out that afternoon. Never heard from him. My husband called the next day, and he gave us the run around the next day and the third day. He was rude and would never recommend Piedmont Metro to anyone!
Description of Work: No work was performed as we never could get him out to our house.

About 5 or 6 years ago our hvac died. We called PM to come out and give us some ideas. The only reason we called them is that they were the ones who would come out now and again for small this-n-that things and I always liked the technician that came. Anyway, they came and told us that we needed a new one - which I believe we did. So as they were there looking around, they had to do an "inspection". They went in the crawl space and found mold. They did take pics and show me right then, so I do believe that was true. Anyway, they suggested along with getting a new hvac system, we clean the mold and seal the crawl space, and also to install a dehumidifier. We went with their suggestions, unfortunately. Every time they did something, something else had to be done. Foolishly on our part, in the end, we spend TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars with them. Half went to the hvac, the other to cleaning and sealing the crawl space, and installation of dehumidifier. Anyway, their service was very slow. They would show up around 11:00 or later in the day and leave a few hours later. They wouldn't answer phone calls and wouldn't return calls. When they were finished three weeks later, against our better judgement, we agreed to an annual service maintenance program because it was the only way it could remain under warranty, so they said. We paid them something like $150 and we never heard from them again. They never came out, called or answered calls on the annual service. Finally, early this year when it was still cold and our system stopped heating, I found a very nice and honest company - just a few men - who came and worked the issue we were having. That's when we learned that they hvac was NEVER SET UP RIGHT in the first place. The computer system was not programmed properly, and the thermostat was never set up correctly either. They spent days here, helping us and only charged us a very small amount because they actually had pity on us. Fast forward to yesterday... we recently learned that we have a termite issue (grudge). We had two companies come out and the second one did a VERY THOROUGH walk through and inspection. She went under the house and said how she hated to tell us but, the crawl space would never pass inspection. It wasn't sealed properly and the vents had never been sealed as they should have been. Now, we are faced with the decision to seal it "for real" this time. Yes, we are going to, for a tiny fraction of what we paid Piedmont Metro. This was a huge life lesson for us! I hope you learn from this review.

I rarely write a bad review. But this time I am compelled. If there were such a thing as minus stars, I would rank Piedmont Metro on that side of ZERO. It has been 3 weeks (not 1, not 2 but 3) since I first contacted them about a cooling issue I was having. Of course an answering machine picked up and proceeded to tell me how important my call was and someone would get back with me??bull. After 1 week and several other messages left, I finally got a person, who said that someone would call and let me know when I could expect service. At the end of the second week and several messages left, I finally got a call back to say I was "on the schedule" and they would call me ahead of time so someone could meet the technician at my house. So passes the third week??.Finally today, the technician called to ask if I could be at the house between 10:30 and 11:00. "Of course." I replied, visions of sleeping in a cool bedroom dancing in my head. I arrived at the house at 10:20. !0:30 came and passed, as did 11:00, 11:30, 12:00. Still no technician or call. Finally at 12:30 I called the main office only to be told that the technician had been delayed that morning at the first job??AND they thought that they had contacted everyone to let them know. They have all 3 of my phone numbers. Missed calls, none; messages, none. I work 30 minutes from home. I figure on top of the $75.00 deductible on my service contract, in the end I'll be out about $500.00 in wages too. As well as my friends and family, I will be passing this on to my home warranty/service contract provider and STRONGLY recommend that Piedmont Metro be removed from their list of service providers. But remember?.you call is very important to them. Please leave a message and someone WILL return your call??when h*** freezes over.

I was concerned because their bid was so much lower than others that I received. I was satisfied with the reasons provided (much smaller vendor, want a customer for life, lower iverhead, etc.). My worries were for naught. Service was wonderful, unit was installed correctly and staff was courteous and neat. I would definitely hire them again.

high quality work, very detailed especially sealing the duct pipes and fitting the hood to side of house. They found that the original install by builder had never been sealed on the bottom and made sure to seal theirs. very prompt and responsive especially when they found out no heat and we were heading into a cold snap. great price on a Trane unit and they come with quite a crew which includes electrcian and duct work folks.

Piedmont Metro responded very quickly (next day). They came out determined that the unit was too old to repair because the condenser had leaks and the compressor was worn out (18 years old). They suggested two alternatives to AC units that would be more energy efficient and offer rebates. Job was completed in 1 day. I was back up running with cool air by that evening. Thanks to Robert and Piedmont... I will continue to use Piedmont Metro in the future.

The compressor on our 11 year old A/C unit seized 24 hours ago, and now we have a new, up-to-date system in place! They came out that day for diagnostics, discussed options and prices. We decided to get an estimate from the next best-reviewed Angie's List company and Piedmont Metro more than matched that estimate and was installing a superior system. We also had PM install our downstairs dual-fuel gas pack a couple years ago, and that positive interaction in addition to this one, will make us recommend Piedmont Metro to all our local friends. The one caveat: make sure you have them put in writing the maintenance agreement; there has been some confusion about this on our gas pack set up.

This company was very affordable and dependable. I called another local company and they gave me an outrageous quote. I called Piedmont Metro and they came out that very day. They gave me a quote on a new heating system and offered financing. They put the unit in quickly and professionally.

I am very pleased with the work completed and this company. See above statement.
Description of Work: My townhome was built in 2001 and in this hot July weather my upstairs AC unit was not performing and the downstairs unit had problems with leaking freon. ( Units were builders grade and were original with the home.) Upon further inspection, the technictions found problems with the duct work in the attic involving the upper unit. I contacted several dealers and found their quote on replacing the two units to be fair and reasonable. The workers were prompt and courteous and had respect for the inside of the residence - laying blankets on the floors and carpet for protection. They went beyond what I was expecting by doing a very neat job outside, fixing duct work in attic and laying gravel around the outside units. The outside area looks better then when I bought it (new). I ended up replacing the lower floor gas furnace while the work was performed on the AC system. Several men were working on the project and I feel the job was completed in a timely matter. Robert Truelove was my contact person, was professional, answered all questions concerning this project, and oversaw the work being done. I selected Trane XR 15 - (a 2 Ton and a 2 1/2 ton).

Ac went out Monday Tuesday called piedmont came out said old unit couldnt be saved reccommanded new one and make house dual air since 2700 sq ft house . New unit arrived wed from supplier but took piedmont about 2 hours to come receive it from driver. Kinda strange I thought . Finally installer shows up but he is alone and has to wait for team . Another couple hours goes by. Then it's now about 430 and he knocks on door and says he needs the check payment for work the whole 9000 really odd since we don't have ac yet so why would we Pay you before your done. but he says he needs it . We pay him reluctantly and he hurries oFF to bank then installeRs show up and install ac unit . Overall happy just the check thing makes you think wonder about professional business's I could see half upfront or deposit or something then the rest when done. Installers were very professional as well as service guy and operator .

I received many quotes from other companies and this company had the best price along with the best customer service. They were very professional and respectful of my home and were very patient while my wife and I discussed our decision. They were there the very next day and finished the work quickly and thoroughly. I would and will use this company again.

very responsive, polite and answered questions directly and gave the impression of truth. they quoted a good price on a replacement AC system, a 2.5 ton system, we scheduled a time for install but then i had to rescheduled due to other short term priorities. during the quotation process i had asked if we could put in a 3 ton system as we were thinking about adding a room to the house; i was told we would have to rewire to do this because we had a 2.5 ton system now and the additional power usage of a three ton system meant higher capacity cabling. it would be best to stick with what we have. because of our delay in replacing the system a friend had said he would take a quick look, he was able to identify we actually had a 3 ton system installed and not a 2.5 - at this stage i lost trust in piedmont metro as a contractor able to replace my AC sytem and will not plan on using them now or in the future.

I was very impressed by the technician that was sent out and the office staff was delightful.
Description of Work: I had several companies come out and give me an estimate on a new unit. I was put off by two local companies, ARS and Service Experts. When those companies finally came out they're prices were way too high! Then I decided to have Piedmont Metro come out. They came out quickly (and on a saturday), answered my questions (no matter how stupid they were), and worked with me. I quickly agreed to the work to be done and the next day, my new unit was installed.
