It went excellent. Prompt on site evaluation, good communication, and cleanup. Provided before and after photos. The reason responsiveness not rated excellent was that the first quote was lost in communication at the shop, but a simple email put things back on track I thought it was expensive, but the quality of the work was very good and easy since I am counting on suppliers to work independently.

The inspection was very helpful and thorough.

Jeff was super responsive both times and came right out. I showed him where the roof was leaking and he climbed up to take a look. He came back down and explained why was wrong and gave me a quote to fix it. The price was fair and he said he could come back in a few days to fix it. I agreed and he called the morning he was scheduled to come to let me know he was on his way. He was gone by the tie I got back but it was clear the repairs were done. We had a new leak show up the very next rainstorm so I called Jeff directly and he came right out. He had it fixed in 24 hours.

The worker was punctual and professional. He did the work cleanly and quickly. The final cost was the same as the estimate.

I called Pickard because I had water leaking into my living room. They sent someone out immediately to check it out. The problem was with the chimney which is located in the steepled part of the roof. They made an appointment to come back as soon as they could to fix it. They sealed the chimney so that water would not come in again. The repair was done quickly, they were efficient and very polite. I have used Pickard for several years, because we have a flat roof on our home. They have always solved my problems. I highly recommend them.

Ultimately, I did elect to go with another roofing company but I would like to say for the record that Pickard Roofing was professional, and punctual: two qualities I value in contractors. The estimator inspected the roof carefully. The estimate arrived less than a week later and was very competitive. Put Pickard on your A-list if you are looking for a new roof.

I was very happy with the estimate they gave me. The estimate was a little more expensive but it was much more detailed. They said exactly the work that they planning to do. They were fantastic. They came out and did the worked it one day.

We have used Pickard Roofing for many jobs over the years and are always happy with their work. They are on time, clean up well, and do a great job!

They really checked out the roof better than the other roofers that came out. They gave good ideas on how to save on costs and other good recommendations for the project. They knowledgable on the existing vents/fixtures on roof. They provided a better price than other bids and told me exactly what I needed. They showed up on time for the estimate. They even said that if I sign a contract with them, they would come in the meantime at no additional charge and patch a leak, since they were scheduling 3 or 4 weeks out.

The man called back within minutes of me leaving a message. He came out that same day and got me the estimate to me the next day. Within a week, the roof was complete, which was appreciated because we were having problems with leaks.

They always do just what needs to be done and they don't try to make work. They are very, very good and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone. They are the best. Their prices are always fair. They are high quality and I expect to pay more because I am getting a better job. I will continue to use them.

I thought their price was extremely high for the estimates, but that's just from people that I talked to about their price. I still want to receive more estimates for the work. They have been in business for a long time, and I'm sure Pickard is competent, but I bet there are other roofing companies that are more reasonably-priced than this company. I thought the bill for the gutter work was high, so I called them to ask about it. They explained the charges; I told them that they charged me for two hours when it really wasn't a full two hours (more like an hour and fifteen minutes). They just told me that because gutter cleaning isn't something they don't really make money on, they just do it as a courtesy. The flashing did fix the problem and their work was fine, but I didn't like the flip way of how they mentioned they did a favor and then charging me more than they should.

It seems that this roof leak told us a great deal about all those areas of our 15-year old house that were not designed or built properly. This problem also alerted us to some siding issues which were taken care of by a different contractor. But back to the roof. After getting three estimates and three different ideas of how to handle it, I decided to go with Pickard who installed a copper pan and the bottom of the snow valley where the leak was. Because this area has the most amount of water of all of our many roof-angled house, I decided on this most and quot;permanentand quot; solution over other roofers who recommended other options. Pickard also installed a galvanized chimney cap after the siding contractor repaired the rotted trim there. Cap now properly keeps water away from trim/siding. I've used Pickard in the past for reroofing a previous house and find them to do an excellent job.

They came the day after we got the estimate and repaird the roof. Two days later we had over 2 inches of rain in a few hours, and no leak! They were personal and very professional.

They are good. I like the punctuality of them coming out. They were very responsive. They came out on time. They appeared very knowledgeable. They have been good at advising us. They didn't just seem to try and find fault with what had been done, but they really gave us what we felt. It was an accurate assessment of where we needed to do something. They were very professional.

My home was difficult to roof, because my neighbors properties are VERY close to mine. Old materials had to be placed on their properties (in one case front walkway) before removal. My neighbors and I were very pleased with the way things went. Work was completed in the estimated 5 days. 5-6 men worked long days to get the job done. Every day all materials were picked up and hauled away. There was never any trash left on the 3 properties affected by the roofing. The roofers only removed shingles onthe section they could reroof that day - no danger of rain coming in. The only noise came from the hammering. The workers themselves were quiet. The work was overseen by Shawn Murphy, manager of Pickard's shingle division. He was on site the entire first day, then checked in several times. He gave my 2 neighbors his cell number in case they had problems. Shawn was very professional, answered all my questions, quickly responded affirmatively to additional requests like repainting the old vent pipes. Workers were also professional and couldn't have been nicer. Great experience, if you can say that about reroofing.

Finished product was EXCELLENT, custom design was EXCELLENT. While all roofing work is hard to schedule because job size varies so much and because it's all somewhat dependent on weather conditions, this company needs to completely rework how their office is managed. I've experienced same fault in an earlier project with them last year which was a much larger roofing job. Even if it's difficult to schedule in a given job, office needs to communicate regularly and as promptly as possible with a customer, not leave them sitting without a word for SEVERAL WEEKS after they've seen someone come out to estimate the work. Customers wonder whether they should go to other company, pursue other avenue. In my case I had given up on them and was on the roof constructing my own (much less professional) repair when several weeks later their second visit was scheduled for another "closer look" estimate. Then another undefined wait before you hear about when (if ?) the work will be done. If a customer is on a list waiting for a proposal, or for the repair to commence, why not tell them how many large and how many short jobs are cued ahead of them? (and on average what this would mean as to when next step will take place) then updating them. Wouldn't this help their own bottom line? And why not do it all digitally, updating such customers weekly about changes in the cue? Statement about weather could be included, but it's obvious too. All the "c" and "b" ratings I gave were due to these "office problems". You need to hire one good office manager, who can use a computer. Company could probably make back 100-fold what they spend on that person's salary and benefits.

Other than a weather delay, the job went very smoothly and took just about the predicted time. We did ask them back to do one more pass with their magnets to pick up the last of the stray nails and staples. Cost was a little higher than estimate because of the decking that had to be replaced. But we expected that.

We chose Pickard based on their reputation in the neighborhood. They were easily accessible for the quote and then did the work soon after. They were very frank about the state of portions of the roof that needed some help. The flat part of the roof was done quickly. The gutters took longer because of rotten wood on our old house that they had to have custom made for us. We were impressed that they went to the effort of doing that. Because of that delay, the gutters were unfinished when the 4th of July storm hit the Triangle. As it happened, some large branches fell from one of our trees and damaged a small portion of gutter. They replaced it at no charge--no questions asked. They also set us up with rain barrels we had purchased.
