Overall experience rating? It was Excellent. Quality and concern for complete customer satisfaction was always driving Phil Stone's efforts. Phil took my wants and thoughts and designed them into the house, even after the contract had been signed and construction was already under way. Phil is a hands-on builder. He is on-site with his sub's, supervising the details and quality at every step. At one point, hardwood flooring was mistakenly installed in additional rooms instead of less-expensive carpeting that I had ordered. His reaction was simply, "If you want the carpet, I'll remove the hardwood and install carpet, else if you want the hardwood I'll leave it." When I offered to pay the additional cost of the hardwood, he said "I don't ask my customers pay for my mistakes." My additional cost? Nothing... I have owned and lived in more than 18 houses throughout the US east coast during the past 48 years. I've remoded many and contracted to build at least seven of them. This house was my second I've had built here in North Carolina. Without a doubt, Phil Stone and the entire experience, before and after move-in, has been the best of all of them. I recommend Phil Stone Homes to anyone looking for a quality builder and an honest person with whom to do business. His prices are fair and he is a builder that can be trusted to deliver the home you wanted.

This is a top quality builder, who is very fair priced. He can be trusted. This is the best builder I've had, in the many houses I've lived in or had built from scratch.
