Terrible service - terrible professionalism - Extremely high and overpriced service.. A very large hailstorm came through our neighborhood and caused the above damage to our house. The owner of the company and his salesman were one of several contractors who came through the neighborhood canvassing for business. The owner told us he was licensed as a contractor and that he employed all his people. We found out after the work started that he did not employ most of the workers and that he did not have a license from the state of North Carolina! These folks started work in April and just finally finished at the beginning of August. The problems started at the very beginning. They delivered the wrong shingles for the house but blamed it on us. Not so as we had a signed form with the correct shingles. When we finally got the correct shingles (113 bundles of shingles), the roofers showed up and quickly established they were their own business and were not directly employed by NC Roofing and Siding. When they finished they took 13 bundles of shingles with them that had not been used. These and other details were charged to us. Two examples were charging for a 10 degree drop on our house, which is a 9, and $383 for a dumpster which was never delivered. This was the beginning of our nightmare. Contract workers would show up and start working and then walk away without finishing the job. As a point of fact, I told one of the few actual employees actually working at our house that he was no longer to work on our house because his work was extremely substandard plus he was showing up obviously on drugs. Workers would show up one day, work an hour, then disappear and not show up again for several days. Then they would repeat this process over and over. The siding took 3 weeks to complete and the windows took over 4 weeks. The windows were incorrect as they ordered new type windows instead of older windows. These windows do not match the other windows in our house and do not fit the same as other windows. Their work was so substandard, that my wife and I decided to stop them from doing additional work. The owner came to our house and was asked by us, how much we needed to pay him to call the work complete. He told us $5500 (++the original down payment of $6000) We wrote a check that day, marked it final payment and he cashed the check the next day. Then 5 days later he phoned, left a message and sent us a bill for an additional $4400. Then within 5 days of his letter he turned us over to a collection company. Obviously, we do not feel he is owned any additional money plus it is also obvious he played with the insurance numbers to drive his prices up. This company signed numerous other neighbors in our subdivision and the overwhelming majority are still experiencing the same type of continuing problems and completion of their jobs are still not finished. We have had another contractor look at our work that was done who commented that our windows were not in straight and square and that they did a horrible job on our siding and trim. We feel this owner and this company and the way they presented themselves was crooked and lied about their workdirectly to our face. We will be taking action against this owner.
