The countertop in the master bath was not measured correctly. When it came it was too large. The men damaged both walls on each side trying to get it in. It had to be returned. When the new one came it turned out to be too small so there was a gap between the countertop and the wall that had to be filled in with caulk. They did it, but the gap was so big the caulk fell down in the crack. They never repaired the walls, just walked out and left.
Description of Work: Installed two bathroom countertops.

We wanted to have our downstairs floors replaced/installed and had settled on a Lowe's flooring product. A friend had had good luck with using this Lowes for their upstairs carpeting and since Lowes sold the flooring and had a relatively low installation price ($2/sq. ft.) we decided to have them do it. The guy on the phone was nice and suggested having the whole measured (flooring downstairs, carpet upstairs) since the price was the same for both as it was for just downstairs ($35) and we might want to use the upstairs measurements later if we had them install carpeting later. He said the guy (who worked for the flooring subcontractor who would install the floor) would call me in 24 hrs. to come and measure. He didn't call within that period. He finally did call and came over and measured the place. He told me a strange anecdote about another customer but overall was friendly and professional. He said Lowes would be calling me back within 24hrs. . They called back over 2 days later. The guy at Lowes said, "now you wanted carpeting, right?". He said the guy had measured the whole house for carpeting not flooring downstairs and carpeting upstairs and he would have to adjust the figures. Then he asked me what flooring I wanted even though I had already discussed this with him extensively. At this point, I started having second thoughts about having Lowes or their subcontractor install the floor. I bought a one month subscription to Angie's list, saw the previous review of flooring at this Lowes and the positive reviews of Frazee carpet and decided to have them, not Lowes, install the floor. I decided to buy the flooring itself from Lowes because it was highly rated. We scheduled delivery on Monday, December 26 at 1-2:30 PM. At 2:30 PM the truck arrived but when they opened the back of the truck, the pile of boxes of flooring had fallen over and boxes had been dented, split open and flooring had fallen out. I called the store and the guy in charge of the flooring department was very nice and suggested I refuse delivery of the whole shipment. I agreed and asked him if he had enough additional flooring on hand if we picked it up ourselves. He said he did so we drove our cars to the store and, with his and his helper's help, loaded up our cars with it and drove home. We had Frazee install the floor and they seem to have done a very good job. (I've never had a floor installed so I don't have anything to compare it to but they were very professional, it looks nice so fare and we have no complaints.
Description of Work: They came out and measured the house for flooring downstairs and carpeting upstairs. I was going to have them install the flooring downstairs but changed my mind. I purchased the flooring from them and had it delivered.

See Above MOST MISERABLE HOME REDO EXPERIENCE EVER WE CANCELLED OUR 16 YR OLD ACCOUNT WITH THEM WILL NEVER USE ANY LOWES FOR INSTALLATION OF ANY KIND AGAIN
Description of Work: It has taken me this long to be able to talk about this God awful experience. This install and purchase actually took place over a 9-10 month time period starting in July of 2008 and ending in April 2009.Lowes did just about everything wrong from the get-go: -2 weeks to get their salesman to talk to me after I PAID for the install measurements -the salesman(by Lowes'own admission) ordered too little carpet to accomodate the pattern of the carpet I ordered -the first installers recognized the mistake and let me know but only after they messed up the following themselves: didn't take up old tack strips I paid to have removed put my range out on the back stoop while installing kitchen flooring and forgot it before big rainstorm came and ruined it(neither Watson flooring (subs) or Lowes ever compensated me for this -Lowes reordered carpet in 12 ft roll after their own sub-contractor recommended 15 ft roll -sub contractors did not want to move any of my packed up moving boxes and said they were told they only had to move 3 appliances(I was moving but what do they do in fully furnished houses?) I and a friend by the way had ALREADY REMOVED ALL BUT ONE ROOM OF CARPET AND PADDING OURSELVES even though again I had paid for them to do it(but I had to calltheir boss to get tack strips up) I became so frustrated that I decided to complete my move before scheduling the completion of install so they would have NOTHING TO MOVE OR DESTROY.They of course said I was delaying I paid an extra 200 $ and the store agreed to take up the padding that got damaged in the interum (while I was finishing my move we walked on original padding that had been installed before lack oi enough carpet was discovered) Through out experince I had to REPEATEDLY call store and most frustrating was I got a different person everytime, no VM at store so could only leave messages,As long as 2 wks would transpire between me calling and leaving messages and ME CALLING BACK AND THREATENING before anyone would do anything The most frustraiting thing of all was that there is no way to reach ANYONE at the Lowes home office except through the "customer care" line and they could only PASS IT BACK TO STORE LEVEL.I sent a certified letter to Lowes HQs and NO ONE FROM THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE EVER CALLED ME BACK OR CONTACTED ME IN ANYWAY.I have worked in retail for 15 years and have never worked for a company that would not have a senior management level person contact you if the problem wasn't being resolved at store level. Third try at installation(by now I lived out of state--3 hr drive each way to deal w/installers or store) the crew arrived and wanted me to "turn on the heat "inmy house.I explained that there was NO HEAT as I had cancelled my gas account and after enough time elapses the gas co apparently came and REMOVED the meter IN OTHER WORDS THERE WAS NO GAS FEEDING INTO MY GASPAC I explained this to the store and Watsons Floor (the sub again) After the install was complete I had to drive 1 hr to my friends house where I was staying and on a whim I went by my house again and found my thermostat turned up toEIGHTY DEGREES!!! Of course there was not gas going into my house so it was not heating but I was concerned that it might have burned out my gaspacs'compressor or something as it kept trying to run and run and run... called the sub and he said "Oh sorry" NO THROUGH : before this group of geniuses left they had informed me that my ..."frontdoor won't close over carpet and pad...do you want it rehung?" NO I WANT MY HOUSE LEFT OPEN TO THE ELELMENTS They begrudgingly rehung door(you had to enter and exit through back door) My realtor was appalled and said she could not show house like this.2 more weeks of negotiations with Lowes (they said not their fault..my contractor the summer before hung my door too low...but there was a large visible gap at bottom of door) they agreed to come and cut out padding at inside of door and install some laminate so door would open.My realtor, bless her heart made several trips to meet them for me.Finally got laminate install and door would open Oh by the way...you know 1 year of no financing ? it was almost up I called Lowes credit(we put all on Lowes card) and pointed out that technically I did not really receive all of my products and installation until almost 10 months after purchase so they gave me a 2 month extention before payments began(Whoopie!) I also had some pet damage (odor ) my fault of course (which is why they were supposed to remove and reinstall any damaged tack strips ) I later had another realtor tell me that he routinely comes across the same problem in other houses and rentals he manages and his carpet people always SEAL the floors beforte installing new carpetNO ONE at either Lowes or with either sub contractor(I did not want Watsons back in my house) EVER suggested this and so I have new carpet with residual odorThis of course would have been another service they could have sold me (in retail we call this an add-on sale or upselling) and I would have happily paid but no one thought of suggesting this(I have an extremely damaged sense of smell so I rely on friends and others to tell me if there is any lingering odor---some of that also goes to my preselling home inspector ,but thats another story) Long and short: worst home repair/remodel experience ever IWOULD NEVER EVER USE ANY LOWES TO INSTALL CARPET OR FLOORING AGAIN(which we have to do in our new house) because anyone can make a mistake(or 2 or 3) but their corporate office was COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE I was onto the 2nd store manager by the time this was resolved I am very unhappy..the kitchen flooring has already began to come up at the back door (they did not lay it properly under where the dishwasher is installed as well) I bought new appliances and other materials from them as well ...in all had to have spent at least $7,000 with them.We ended up canceling our 16 yr old account with them

We purchased the appliances on Thursday and scheduled delivery for Sunday. We were told that we would receive a phone call no later than 9am on Sunday, to inform us of the specific delivery time. (We live approximately five miles from the store.) On Saturday evening, we received a call, informing us that we would be receiving a phone call in the morning (odd?). The next morning, 9am came and went without a phone call. When we hadn't heard anything by 11am, I called the store and was informed that the delivery driver had had an accident on the way to work and that they were "working" to contact customers to inform them and that we would be receiving a call, later, once they had another driver. The store called at 12:45, to say that they would be delivering between 1 and 2pm. The truck pulled in at 1:30, and the removal of the old units (which we kept, but were still charged a disposal fee) and installation of the new units went smoothly, if hurried.
Description of Work: We purchased a Washer/Dryer pair, with home delivery.

Lowe's used a subcontractor for my carpet installation. Scheduling the installation with them was tricky. They had my home phone number in their system and refused to call me at my work number despite the numerous voicemail messages I left them to contact me at work. They weren't helpful with giving advice about how to prepare our home for the carpet installation. The carpet installation team was scheduled to arrive at our home between 9 and 11 am, but they didn't show up until 11:15. I was very worried they weren't coming and was afraid I'd taken the day off work for nothing. Finally, they showed up and worked straight through until nearly 6:00 PM. Surprised me that the job would take so long for only 700 square foot area. Overall, the workers did a VERY HIGH QUALITY JOB and paid careful attention. While they did leave a little bit of a mess in our house (carpet bits everywhere), the carpet itself was installed perfectly.
Description of Work: They ripped out my old carpet and installed the new carpet pad and carpet.
