Their prices are pretty competitive and they usually have everything that I need stocked. They are definitely punctual as far as when they say they're gonna have something out, I've never had a problem with them not showing up when they're supposed to.

Now they are refusing to pay $ 8500 worth of damage that they did to my floors. A year ago they said there was no problem they would be paying for it. I have been waiting and calling several times and it has reached a point where I think I may have to use a lawyer. The activity was done in the end of may last year and I have been trying to get the flooring mended or fixed. They did an awful job. Now they are saying get the flooring fixed and they'll make a check. I don't have to do that because I was promised the other way. They have been very nasty and very very unprofessional. I am sitting here now not knowing what to do. I am talking now to the corporate's and not to the people who brought it in. The person who was going to give me the check was fired. When they brought the refrigerator they had to measure the doors to see if it goes through. Their people were supposed to take the door off if it didn't fit. They just kept moving it back and forth and sideways. I had gouges in my floor, I had 12 people from Lowe's walking through and they said that it was the most horrible job. I guess those people got fired too. From that last day they said that they'll take care of it. I thought Lowe's will take care of it. When nothing came about, I was calling. They said Lowe's doesn't take care of it they are hired out. There were no place I could get hold of them. They said well let us do an estimate on it and you sign a notarized paper saying that you release us from all liabilities.Looks like I have to get a lawyer.
Description of Work: Lowe's brought in the refrigerator which was a wrong one then they brought in a second.

Showed up on time. Did the uninstall and new install. Cleaned up after themselves. Showed me how it all worked. I really appreciated having a dedicated customer service call line, with people answering the phone. There was a problem with the original subcontractor so it was great to be able to talk to the customer service rep directly. She took care of it right away. I was also having work done by Home Depot and all I had was the voice mail general # so when I would call, I would get trapped in that voice mail limbo, with no way to talk to a person for help. I would choose Lowe's over Home Depot for just this reason.

1) Sales came and and measured and quoted us a price and we paid for them in full in late April including the windows at about 11000.00 and the labor cost of about 2000.00. Sales told us it would take about 3 - 4 weeks for the windows to be made and arrive. 2) About 3 weeks later we were in Lowes for other purchases and another employee who knew us said our windows had come in. This was quick. 3) Three weeks went by with no call to install, so I called Sales to set up a date for installation and had to leave a message. A week later I called again and no call was returned. I continually called until I reached the sales agent and I was then told the installation was going to be another 900.00. I had already paid for the install in full from the quote and explained that it was not any error on my part that any additional costs should be added. I asked him, "What was he going to do about this? " He said he would have to rewrite the sales order and discount the windows further and increase the labor costs. 4) It was now mid - June and I had received no calls from the installers. I drove over to Lowes a few times until I was able to meet with the sales agent. He had not yet re-written the sales order. This was getting ridiculous. He said he would make it happen and have the installers call within a week to set up a time. I received no call back within 2 weeks. 5) I called again and spoke with someone else and she said the installers would call and a few days later, a Lowes truck appeared at the house and delivered over a dozen pcs of brickmould. I did not need any brickmould for my installation?? 6) At this point I asked another company (that I also paid for their services) to come out and see if there was anything unusual about my installation and to get a price on installation on windows I had already purchased from Lowes. I did not tell them there was a problem with Lowes. I picked up one of my windows from Lowes and had them install one window. They said they would do the install for 1400.00 and have it done in two days. 6) It is now mid-July without an install date so I went back to Lowes early in the morning to see the sales agent. I took a picture of the installed window and proved there was no install issue if they had the correct color on the trim kit (coil wrap) that matched the window I purchased from them. I also explained how they installed the window in an hour. The sales agent said their trim would be in Almond....the windows were Honeysuckle. I was not going to pay 13000.00 for two-tone windows. I asked him again, "What was he going to do about this? " and he said he would try to find trim that would match the windows. He did call me to let me know he had found a color match from a supplier. They set up an install date for the next week. I received a call from a lady at Lowes the night before the scheduled installation explaining they could not do it as the trim had not come in. They called back the following Tuesday and set another installation date for Thursday. 7) It was now the third week in July. The installers from AMS (the company this Lowes contracted for installs) came out, on time and they were super and know what they were doing. They had been out to look at the job during the quoting process. I explained again how I wanted the installation and they agreed it would work fine. They finished the job the next afternoon and did a great job. They were conscientious, careful and knew their jobs well. AMS did a great job and the windows were finally installed and looked great. I paid Lowes 13000.00 in full for windows and Labor in April' 2010 and the job did not start until late July 2010 dispite they had received the windows months earlier and were sitting in their store. I went through 3 months of pricing hassel (after I paid in full for everything), unanswered messages and poor communication for a normal window installation. The problem was in the sales department, not the product or the installation. The product and the installers were great and it was a fair price. Unresponsiveness, broken appointments, trying to change the price after contract and lack of action until I told them I was going to bail after several months of waiting. We were way too patient with Lowes. Summary: It took Lowes of S. Durham about 3 months on a normal installation to do a job that should have taken one week after the windows were received by them.
Description of Work: We had all 19 of our original 1973 exterior windows replaced and wanted to find a window as close to the original design as possible. We did not want a "mobile home" looking replacement window, so we selected the Pella wood, metal clad Architect series with custom heavy int. and ext. grids, best glass options available, custom colors on inside and out. Sales came and and measured and quoted us a price and we paid for them in full in late April.
