Brandon was amazing! My mom's heat pump was acting up this past Saturday. Brandon called mom first thing in the morning to set up a timeline of when he would be at the house. She had an appointment in the afternoon to get her 2nd coronavirus vaccine. He said he would call her at 4pm after her appointment to arrange a time to come to the house. Brandon called when he said he would. He was great with my elderly mom. He kept her updated of when he be at the house. He found the problem and fixed it. He explained what broke to my mom. He is such a great guy and so nice to my mom. I really appreciate the way looked out for her. I highly, highly recommend Swain and Son! Thank you for taking care of my mom!

The warranty I have covered parts, I just had to pay for labor. They were here when they said they would be here.

They were professional. Went over everything he thought I needed. We talked. It went well. I decided to use them because I had used them before and they did my mother and father's house. If you needed them, they always had someone available. That was why I did not go with the lowest. I did not know the people. Even though I had good references, I did not know them.

They are awesome. They installed it and maintained it. I'd grade them "A" across the board. We use them all the time.

I find them to be an "A" plus act. They are very customer service oriented. They did a great job with the installation. We have a very old house it was built in 1891 and they did a great job there. And knock on wood we've never had an issue with our units. They pro-actively reach out to us when we need service. They are very reasonable priced. We had one emergency since we've been here and they were extremely responsive, they were here within the hour.

The service was decent. The technician fixed the a/c but broke the heat. It took them several weeks to come back out, but not a big deal because it is summer time. I am satisfied overall, but it would have been nice to get it right the first time.

From start to finish it was a pleasure working with this company. I had a cracked heat exchanger and needed to replace the unit. I contacted 3 companies for quotes - all of whom were rated on Angie's List. I emailed Swain and received a prompt response. I knew I wanted the unit replaced not repaired so arranged for Mike to go by my house to check out my unit and provide a quote. I didn't want to have to leave work so he went by, accessed the crawl space and evaluated the unit all without interrupting my day. He promptly called with a quote. His quote included installing a programmable thermostat but when I told him I already had one he reduced the price. Installation was scheduled for 2 days later and he gave an arrival time of 8:30-9:00. The installers arrived at 8:30 on the dot. Again, I didn't want to miss much work so Mike said they'd give me a call an hour before they needed access to the thermostat inside the house. He said it would be around 2:30. Sure enough, the phone rang at 1:30 and I was able to zip home to let them fire up the unit and was back at work before 2. The installers were nice and professional. The office assistant answered all of my questions, which were many, and gave great service. Mike Williams was conscientious, adhered to all timelines as stated and was just a decent fellow to deal with during this process. After dealing with the high-pressure sales tactics of another HVAC provider these folks were a breath of fresh air. They're quote was the most reasonable and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend them if you are in need of HVAC services.

I've used LD Swain and Son for a number of years now for annual maintenance on my H and AC systems. I had a system replaced a few years ago. This last routine maintenance a part had failed. They replaced using the warranty information they had on record versus charging to fix it.

I had an initial estimate given and was impressed with the guy (I can't remember his name) who came for the estimate. Not only was he punctual, he was informative and was not dismissive or pushy (which is very important when you don't have a lot of experience in home maintenance. LD Swain and Son pointed out some of the things that one other company had said regarding the location of my current unit not being up to code and was very thorough in there assessment of my needs. They did not try and sell me more than I needed and gave me several options in a variety of price ranges. When I scheduled the installation of my AC unit LD Swain and Son were able to come out right away since it was one of the hottest weeks of the year and my AC had COMPLETELY died. The day of the installation I had to work so had to arrange for them to come when I wasn't here and have my neighbor let them inside when they needed to come in. I called mid-morning and discovered they were installing the unit in the wrong place, but they were able to move it to the location I had discussed when the estimate was given and were not upset in having to do so. When I got home, I discovered that my basement and the area around my house had been left a mess, and the drain pipe was in the wrong place. I called the company and they came out immediately to fix the issues. Evidently the electrician they contracted with had made the mess (it did appear so), but the guys who came to clean up were very apologetic and took care of everything right away. Despite the few glitches, it was a good experience overall!

Of three estimates, LD Swain was by far the lowest, in fact $900 less than the firm that originally installed the system. The people from LD Swain were prompt, courteous and professional. They replaced the coil on the existing unit promptly and it's working fine. I would definitely do business with them again.

We have worked with this company for over 20 years. The have been reliable, polite and have answered many questions for us with lots of patience.

The lady who answered the phone was friendly and professional. They were able to get me an appointment the same day, but I had to work so they came out first thing the next morning. The guy that showed up was courteous and ready to get to work. He had me turn on the HVAC system and immediately found the problem. I had a refrigerant leak. Unfortunately, he will have to come back because the cap that has to be replaced has to be ordered. I'm just relieved it wasn't a big problem and lucky it was still covered under warranty. I asked the guy a few questions and he was able to answer them honestly. If something ever happens again, I'd be happy to use this company. Update: My HVAC system was fixed the following week. True to their word, the office called me to schedule a day/time. The same guy came back and was again professional and courteous. I certainly would use them again.

There when needed during construction; passed all county inspections with no remediation; easy to work with; cost as estimated - no surprises. Used them previously in replacement of HVAC in house in Durham - same good experience so used them again for my new house.

My air conditioner quit working, so I contacted this company to come and check it out. They initially were very booked and had to give me an appt a few days out, but a couple of hours later, they called and were able to give me an appt time much sooner. They gave me a 3-hour timeframe (11a - 2p) for their arrival. About 10:30, the office called me, and told me they were leaving from their previous job, and would be there shortly. When they arrived, the service techs were neat, polite, and got straight to work. At first, the tech thought I would need to replace my programmable thermostat, but then upon further inspection, he realized only a wire had come loose. He fixed it, and told me that I wouldn't need a new thermostat after all, and that I would probably just be charged the basic service charge, nothing more. They were there about half an hour. I've used this company for about 7 years now, and they have always been punctual, helpful, and even on one occasion when I basically offered them a blank check (i.e., to replace ductwork), I was told that they would replace it if I really WANTED it replaced, but that it wasn't necessary. How many companies turn down the opportunity to do (and charge) more? I've recommended this company to other friends, and I will continue to use them indefinitely.

I will never use them again. But I am afraid of them. They used a debt collector, trying to ruin my credit.

I am very satisfied with how well our air conditioner works now. After shopping around, I found their price to be unbeatable. I was especially happy with how polite these people were to deal with. They answered all of our questions and let us know that we could call them anytime and they would be right out to take care of our problem.

I would have to give this company a very good report. I researched many companies and they were the best. The simply made sure to complete the work in a detailed, timely manor. I thought that the workers were very friendly and made sure to answer any questions that I had. The prices are reasonable and I had no problems at all.
