Description of Work: They fixed my Apollo heater by replacing overflow valve. I especially liked that they did not charge me anything for coming out to diagnose the issue. They did an excellent job.

Description of Work: In addidtion to being on time, fairly priced and professional, JVG can be contacted thru their website contact form that makes scheduling very easy as well as communication about the specific problem by email. A return to handle one minor unresolved issue was also handled quickly and professionally.

The showerhead began leaking seriously on Thursday evening. There was no way to stop the leak except to turn off the water to the whole house, so I needed to get this fixed on Friday. A friend recommended JVG. Corey was able to figure out what needed to be done just from my explanation of the existing plumbing. He quoted a price of $125 to cap off the water to the shower (not install a new valve because we plan to remodel soon.) He was able to send out a plumber, Pete, later in the day. Pete called ahead to confirm his arrival time. He was prompt, professional, and very helpful. At my request, he installed a valve cover to cover the hole in the wall, which added $50 to the price. Although that seems a bit high to me, this part of the work did take some time and care. Pete did an excellent job, and thoughtfully cleaned up the mess that was created in the nearby sink. The whole thing took about an hour. Allthough I gave them a B for price because I didn't think the cover would add $50, I really don't have enough information to know if it should have been an A or a B. I am satisfied and would hire this company again.
Description of Work: Capped off valve to water into shower to stop leaking. Covered whole in wall with valve cover (we did not want a new valve installed because we plan to remodel with bathroom and possibly move the shower, so this was only to cover the hole in the wall needed to access the valve to cap it off and stop the dripping.)

It went very well. The line was replaced within a day at a very reasonable cost. We have used JVG Plumbing for several other plumbing jobs in the past and have always had great service at a reasonable cost.

My 27 year old water heater developed a leak one day before we were to leave for an out of town trip. Called 3 plumbers and left messages before 8am that I found on Angie's List. JVG called back before 830am, gave me a price on the phone and arrived at my home in 45 minutes. All work was completed around 1130am. Very pleased with their quick response, their work and the water heater is working great.

I just used them once and the guy who came out was very good. He was prompt and he did what I asked him to do. His price was also fine.

The technician was easy to get in touch with and arrived promptly at the agreed time. He had given me a rough estimate based on my description of the issue and the total was within the estimate. The repair took about 45 minutes as he had estimated.

Description of Work: This company replaced outside hose bibs that were leaking and then had to replace two of them a second time, since their replacements leaked as well. The installation of a kitchen faucet in our guest house was fine. The problem began when they installed a corner shower in the guest house. I was instructed to go to Home Depot, choose the shower and pay for it, and they picked it up. After speaking with the owner of JVG about the type of shower I was purchasing and being assured by the owner that they knew how to install it (and had just put one in a week previous), the owner sent a worker to install it who did not know how to do the job. The worker was on the phone continually attempting to get instructions on how to proceed. The wrong kind of caulking was used and the first time the shower was used water leaked everywhere. I called JVG and they came back and caulked the shower again and it still leaked. After several more visits by JVG to try to figure out what the problem was and being befuddled, I called the maker of the shower. The manufacturer told me the plumbers used the wrong type of caulk and then explained the specific type that was required. I then told the owner of JVG, who said he had never heard of such a thing. The owner came back, slathered more of the specified caulk over the old caulk, that ended up looking like multiple layers of different kinds of caulk--not attractive. I had another plumber look at the work and she said the shower drain was put in backwards. [cost $2534] I did ask them to do more work, fixing a broken pipe at our well house, rebuilding a lavatory faucet, replacing a faulty hose bib they had installed, and installing a tankless water heater. The tankless unit still functions well. [cost $2525] I would grade them D on the corner shower installation and B on the tankless water heater installation, so the average grade is C.

They sent someone over first thing in the morning to scope out the job. He noted we needed a connector hose. The actual plumber came 2 hrs later, without the hose. After figuring out that we needed one, he left and came back half an hour later with the hose and did the connection. He also tested our other 2 fireplaces to make sure they were working. In all, we paid for $135 labor for a job that should have cost much less. In their favor, the gas logs seem to be working fine.
Description of Work: JVG Plumbing connected a set of gas logs that I had already purchased.

We noticed leaking from the T&P valve at 9pm. Of course we were planning to go out of town the next day. Called JVG that night and left message saying it wasn't an emergency, but that we needed someone to come out the next morning (the voice mail said that if it were an emergency, to say so and someone would call back within 10 min). Got a call at 7:30am from them, they had a plumber out to us by 9am. Corey was our technician. He was very professional and courteous. Took off his work boots right inside our front door. He examined the water heater, said what he thought it was but also what some other causes might be. He investigated the other causes, said he thought it was just that the T&P valve needed to be replaced. Told us if we had more leaking then the cause could be the PRV valve (between the water main and our house). We asked a lot of questions about how the water heater operates, what the various pipes were going into it, what we should do if we had problems with it in the future, etc., and he was very helpful and answered all our questions. He replaced the valve pretty quickly and was all done. Cost was $40 for the replacement valve, and $95 for the service call/labor. $135 for quick peace of mind while away on our trip was a bargain!
Description of Work: Examined water heater leaking from the T&P valve. Checked under our house to confirm overflow was diverted outside. Checked water pressure from main to our house. Replaced T&P valve. Lit pilot light.

Our house was built with defective pbpipes. We had called Joe at JVG twice for emergency repairs and the second time he recommended replacing all the pipes in the house. I felt this was good advice, given the great risk of water damage with each leak. Joe responded to the emergency calls at odd hours of the day very promptly. He immediately came to our house to inspect. He gave us accurate estimates and did fine work. The price breakdown was: $1175 to replace broken water line from the street to the house. $600 to replace the water heater. $3400 to replace all water pipes for 2.5 baths, including new shower hardware. Joe is very nice and really looked out for us. He also replaced all the water spigots outside and re-located one to me more convenient. I definitely recommend Joe, he's a little rough around the edges, but his work is good and he's very fair priced.
Description of Work: Emergency replacement of water line from the street to the house, and all water pipes in the house. Complete re-piping.
