I would give John Mckinney Painting a D or an F for the experience. The cup he used came apart, it split 3-4 months after the job was finished and we asked if they can come back out, they came back out and re-cupped all places which included the complete backside of our house, the side of it and then a year and a half later has still not come back out to re-paint it so we're now in the process of probably having to take them to small claims court.
Description of Work: We used them to paint the exterior of our home.

Description of Work: John was recommended to me by word of mouth by a person who was extremely pleased with his work. I had him bid on an exterior pain job involving trim, porch, windows, garage doors and deck. I needed to change color from beige to white and therefore two coats of paint were necessary. John was extremely professional, punctual and thorough. He explained his plans in detail to me and I was very comfortable with the thought of having him perform the work. In the end, I decided to go with another bid that was just a hair lower than John's but I really was in a position where I felt both would do an absolutely great job! I had to make a call and chose the other provider. Nevertheless, I wanted to be sure to give John McKinney Painting credit where credit is due. I do not think you can go wrong hiring him!

The quality of work was not even average. The worst part was that while working from home all day, I also had to do all of the supervision of the two young men who actually did the work. I had to keep running out there. They kept ringing my doorbell. I never saw their boss except to pick up payment. This was a complete pain and made my life miserable for the entire four days the job took. When I ran the cost by neighbors and another contractor, they said it was way too high.
Description of Work: Power washing of house. Painting of all trim Sealed deck and porches Power wash driveway

On, August 27, 2009, Mr. McKinney gave us an estimate to paint our front porch. He also gave an estimate to do some repairs to our deck and to clean the deck and stain it. About a week later, he sent someone out who pressure washed the deck. We called and left messages for Mr. McKinney, and he told us a couple of times that he would be out to complete the job, but we never saw him again. Our deck was pressure washed, but then left bare. Recently, May, 2010, my husband saw him at a neighbor's house and he made a comment about how "rainy" it had been last fall. I guess this was supposed to be his reason for never completing the job at our house.
Description of Work: On, August 27, 2009, Mr. McKinney gave us an estimate to paint our front porch ($345). He also gave an estimate to do some repairs to our deck and to clean the deck and stain it ($950). About a week later, he sent someone out who pressure washed the deck. But no one came back after that.

John was just great. I always new that he was coming because he returned all of my phone calls. First, he gave me an estimate and then he gave me a final bill with no surprises added on. This was a big job for him. It took 1 1/2 weeks to finish. He worked from 8-5 for 10 days straight. He charged $1460 for the painting and $3100 for the ceilings. I thought it was reasonable.
Description of Work: I have popcorn ceilings and John painted them for me. John also smoothed and painted three rooms for us.
