They do great work. Two people came out and then they called in another guy. They came in, they checked if everything was working. They followed up afterwards. The owner is a really great guy. I met him when he was just starting his own business. They cleaned up everything.

All around excellent, courteous service!

They didn't respond until March 11, 2015 and all they said was to call their phone number to discuss it further. I had already had the problem fixed at that point.

I have a septic tank. When I ran the washing machine on Friday 10/10, sewage overflowed through the toilet and bathtub and ran all over the floor. I considered this a hygienic emergency. I called several plumbers, but they were all booked for the day and wouldn't come out on a weekend. I was thrilled when JD Plumbing agreed to come that day--but they didn't. Their previous appointments took longer than expected, and several hours after their ETA, they cancelled. They came the next morning--and added a $99 surcharge for the privilege of a weekend call. The plumber was professional and polite. He briefly examined the situation in the bathroom, dug up enough of the ground over the septic tank to determine that there was a gap between the tank and the lid, and told me that my septic tank needed to be pumped. For this sage advice, I paid an additional $150. I had already figured out that much myself for nothing! Later that week, the septic tank was pumped. The septic tank pumpers found that there was not just a gap between the tank and the lid--the old lid had broken and fallen in. Also, the main line between the septic tank was blocked and needed to be cleared. They replaced the lid, but they said they were not allowed to clear the main line: a professional plumber needed to do that. So I called JD Plumbing again. They agreed to come, but again took several hours longer than expected, so that it was dark by the time they arrived. (Not the best time to clean out an outdoor pipe.) Again, the plumber (a different one this time) was very professional and polite. He whipped out his computer tablet and looked up the fixed price to clean out a main line: $960 (!!!!!!!!!). As it was dark, he was only going to go in through the bathroom pipes and not dig up the septic tank. I told him that the secretary who had answered my call had told me that I would get credit for the $150 I had already paid, since they didn't actually do anything. This was apparently not standard procedure--but the plumber called the Powers That Be at the company and got permission to give me the "discount." That brought the bill down to "only" $810. I declined. The plumber explained that they use fiber optic tubes with cameras on them to go into the pipes to see what was wrong--the highest tech, most effective service available. I told him that I didn't need a high tech camera to tell me what was blocking my pipes, and that the price was way too high, even after the "discount." I have had this problem before. I told him that the last time someone cleaned out my main line, it cost only $300. (It was actually a little less--more like $250.) He was shocked and puzzled and got me to sign a statement saying that I had declined service even after the discount. Later I called Brad Baker, the plumber recommended by the septic tank pumpers. He dug up the septic tank and found that the main line had a hole in it, through which roots had grown. The roots made a sort of net that stopped toilet paper and hair from flowing through to the septic tank. He charged me $195 for clearing it out. He said the main line needed to be replaced and that he was willing to replace it for $800. When he came to do the work, he was polite, friendly, and on time--and ended up charging me only $600 for the job, since only a small piece of pipe needed to be replaced. Brad Baker both cleaned out and replaced my main line for $800--less than the "discounted" price that JD Plumbing wanted to charge me for merely cleaning it out!!! If JD Plumbing had done the work that night, they would not have discovered the roots blocking the main line and would have charged me $810 (marked down from $960) for clearing a hair clog out of the bathtub drain! (A $5 bottle of Drano would accomplish the same thing.) What a difference!!! In short, JD Plumbing seems to be aiming its services at people who have a whole lot more money than sense. I don't know how else they manage to stay in business. Stay away from these guys--unless, of course, you have thousands of dollars of extra cash sitting around and you thrill to the idea of diagnosing your blocked pipes with a fiber optic camera.

It was a positive experience. The worker, David, was punctual and very pleasant. Because we did not get a second estimate due to the situation being a minor crisis, I cannot compare their price with anyone else's. I may be wrong, but $1800 just seems to be a lot of money. I had seen JD Plumbing's high rating on Angie's List, so I didn't worry about it. David also said that this was the best company he had ever worked for, that they treated their employees with respect, and have a very high retention rate.

I used JD Plumbing some number of months ago. They did a horrendous job. They overbid the job. I would never use them again and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. They ended up having to refund a bunch of money to me. They're terrible. They were very prompt. They had some after hours. They came out really quickly and they were very responsive. They gave me the bid and I have no reason not to think that the bid wasn't open up. The guy was really nice and they seem knowledgeable. The exact same issue happened at the house next door to me that I property manage. I got a second opinion on that one because it was another really expensive potential fix from JD Plumbing. It was at that point that I thought, JD Plumbing has taken me to the bank and that's not what they were going to do the second time. I ended up with a back and forth with JD Plumbing to get them to refund a ton of money to me based off of that. They did the initial response the night we had an overflow. They came out and got the drain, like draining short-term. Then they came out the following day and replaced the junction point between the house line and the city sewer. I would never use them again because they're dishonest and they overcharge. The quality of the work was terrible. I had to have them come out on a second occasion to actually redo the work they did previously that they charged me $3700 for. Part of the job is relaying concrete where the shared clean out access is. Our access and the concrete that they laid looked terrible. I went back to JD and I said, look not only are you going to refund me money but you're also going to come back and redo your work. Your work is clearly terrible. They actually had some people back and forth with me. Although it took forever to get them to actually fix what was the problem, they did stay in touch with me. They were supposed to fix the job at one point, nobody showed up and I had to follow back up. It was a bit of fiasco.

Wanted to replace the outdoor section of the corrugated stainless steel tubing feeding propane to the gas pack and correct the piping from the shutoff valve into the gas pack. Provider arrived at the expected time. After speaking with the provider and showing him what needed done, he went to get the needed materials, which included the iron pipe and fittings. Came back and performed the service in about two hours.

Made an appointment, waited all day while receiving calls assuring me of an eventual service call, which never happened. Cannot depend on these people to keep their appointments.

Original review: We had scheduled the provider to come early on a Friday afternoon to address a serious water leak. Mid afternoon I received a call that they were running late, and if I still wanted them to come that day there would be an extra after hours charge of approximately $100. We rescheduled for Monday, and they did not show, nor call. I posted a negative review a couple days later. Update: Following the initial poor review, I received a very professional call acknowledging scheduling problems and asking for an opportunity to "make things right" - which I'm happy to report the company proceeded to do. Someone was sent promptly. While it seemed the job was simple, a few complications were discovered, and they stuck with the project as long as needed. I feel I can call upon JD Plumbing again for trustworthy and professional service.

Needed a new water connection near my HVAC. These guys setup an appointment for 11:00am Wednesday and never came. I waited at home all day. They set it again for Friday 9:30am and did not come. On calling, they mentioned that they had called me and I requested cancellation on Thursday. So instead of a owning up to a scheduling mistake they lied to me. Apology was forced and felt sarcastic. I decided to move on to another plumber.

He knew exactly what was wrong, had the new disposal on the truck, replaced it and cleaned up afterwards.

We had new countertops installed and needed the sink and garbage disposal hooked up. We had another plumber lined up to do it but they backed out last minute and couldn't come until the next week. This was unacceptable for me as we couldn't go 4 days without a sink. So the hunt was on for a plumber. JD Plumbing not only said they could some but they came after hours, which increased the price by $20, and had it installed that night. The technician was awesome!!! I cannot speak more highly of both the technician and the company on their excellent customer service and installation. I will use them in the future for any of my plumbing needs.

David from JD Plumbing came on first visit to fix a sluggish toilet and flush mechanism, and to assess possible replacement of polybutylene pipes and the hot water heater. He was on time, professional, and provided me with a detailed quote for the future work. The following week, he and a helper (Corey?) came to replace all the polybutylene, water heater and do the other work. This involved a full day and part of the the next day. At all times, both men were professional, friendly and informative. David is especially determined and almost perfectionist about getting the job done. He really obsessed about rixing the water line to the refrigerator so I could once again have a functioning icemaker. They were as unobtrusive as possible and cleaned up all work areas and any mess - and they were pet-friendly! I will definitely use them again.

Our house was built in 1984 and the standard plumbing to where the plumbing was built back then was not up to code with the current standard. They moved the pipes so that our piping is now up to code. When they came out to provide the quote, they were able to complete the job right then. My husband acted as his assistant and because of that, they provided us with a small discount. They were able to complete the work quickly and did a good job.

Had to clean up some after they left, but he did take care about putting shoe covers on. Work was done quickly and accurately.

Scheduling the appointment went smoothly and Mike arrived promptly. He quickly assessed the leak issues and recommended a solution. He came out again to verify the details and we talked through some other options. Mike provided great advice and I felt his prices were fair. They offer a discount to Angie's List customers which is great too. Overall, I felt very comfortable with JD Plumbing and highly recommend them.

Got here and fixed the problem in a very short time.

Technician Troy was professional and pleasant. He diagnosed my problem and promptly knew what to do. He was a little behind schedule but Durham had a horrible rain storm and every body was late. Office was pleasant and kept updating and calling me due to emergencies due to flooding and rain.

This has been the best plumbing company I have worked with yet. Thomas are very personable. They had very good follow from the office staff. They came out to originally fix one of my toilets and ended up come back to fix my other toilet, free of cost. I will continue to use this company.

Matthew was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything including all of our options and pricing and answered all my questions. I am very pleased with his service and JD Plumbing, Heating and Air has definitely earned my future business.

It went great. It's looks like a great model. Its quiet, its one house powered. We like it so far. The price and quality was good. The guy was very punctual and accomodating.

The plumber was 3 hours late as he got stuck on another job. I would have liked them to call me, but I called them. He arrived, was very professional, did a great job. Would use again.

I have had problems with leaking toilets that were improperly fixed by previous plumbers. As I was having high water bills I contacted JD Plumbing based on reviews in Angies list. I was impressed that JD was able to schedule someone to come to my house the following day. The technician Tray arrived and did a through inspection of the toilets and other potential sources of leaking water. He pinpointed the problem to a single toilet and then did an excellent and thorough job with the repair. He is clearly a professional and takes pride in his work. He was also polite and efficient. He explained the charges upfront and did not try to pressure me to do additional work. I think I have finally found a good local company for my plumbing needs.

Our hot water heater failed and I called in at 8 am. They had a technician (Tray Boone) out to the house by 10 am. I met with him and we decided on a plan and then I left for work. He did a great job and finished up about 6 pm. When I returned from work, he showed me the work and taught me how to use the equipment. He did a great job of cleaning up.
